Bleiz: If it's still slipping then it's either of three things 1. There is still water in there .. if it has a dip stick quage it and check colour.. it should be dark red.. if not Drain transmission oil change filter and put fresh ATF about 5 litres should do. 2. Ensure to use right ATF.. what brand and year is your car.. be sure you are using the right ATF recommend for your car .very crucial wrong ATF can cause issues and lead to current gear slipping 3. It's possible your gear has been compromised or damaged ..get a technician to conduct proper check.. Either way stop driving the car.. with the current slipping the more u drive the more damage it causes |

Bleiz: This is the ATF for your vehicle.. if you dint use this recommended DWI ATF for honda..drain oil immediately..and get it.. secondly honda accord 05 gear box is known for its sensor issues.. u might need to consult. A technician. Check all your gear sensors.. Prepare u mind for worst case scenario. A complete gear replacement.. if fault Is neither oil or sensor then gear could be compromised and needs to be replaced.. dnt let anyone tell u they can rebuild it.. it almost never works..

byteem:Depends on the gear technician thou.. My gearbox did same as his, went to our mechanic village and was referred to a good technician that handles such cases. He changed my gear fibers, body valve and 2 other components I can't recall their names and changed bottom plate of the gearbox. It's been a year plus and I just did my oil change 2months ago and my car drives soooo cool. Like I said it depends 1 Like |

dru23: I don't understand you dru. I asked you if I could change my oil from 20w50 that I've been using to 5w30 recommended for my Camry 1999 with over 200k miles but you said I should maintain status and now you are advising this guy to switch from 20w50 to mobil 1 |
Re: Port Harcourt Mall Flood: Fixing A Car That Drove Through The Water by dru23(m): 6:35pm On Nov 14, 2021 |
adubam: Sir u misread the post.. I was asking the young man the break down of his oil usage. I never advice him to switch. He has been using 20w50 for his matrix for a long time. So there is no point switching to factory recommendation .. If he decide to switch it might cause leakage........ And sir I didn't want you to waste money either. Your 1999 camry has been using 20w50 for long time. So just stick to it, and change ur oil about every 4k miles to avoid sludge. I know can it can tedious ... Once you are able to get a proper maintain or tokunbo car. We give u free engine oil sir ... If u have anymore questions please free to ask |
