Nollywood actress, Ini Edo has taken to her social media platform to commemorate International Day of the Girl Child today, October 11, WonderTV Media reports.

Ini Edo lamented in her writeup that the girl children are not celebrated and valued in Africa. She added that there’s no gender equality in the continent.

The 39-year-old opined that society can move forward to becoming a better place when the girl child is being recognised, allowed to represent and speak up for her people.

Girls no value, yet since last ten years, women are in charge of Nigeria economy, giving direction how Nigeria economy would look like.

Yet no where in our constitution where, woman restrain to attain certain level.

Nobody can undervalue you without your consent. Let's stop playing the victim here and go out there to take the world (not through sex or nudity tho).

With role models like Tonto Dike, Toke Makinwa, Ini Edo, and co truly the girl child is looked down upon. With role models like Okonjo Iweala, their value is high

How come my mum was sent to school by her parents? And how come my aunts who were born in the 60s were all graduates? How is it that there are more girls in school than guys in the east? Who trained okonjo? My sister's school fees and pocket money were way higher than mine back then in school! This victim mentality by African women needs to stop. They will gladly marry a young Arabian prince even if they were asked to wear hijab all day long.

Are male kids forcefully married off at 9 years old or as teens without their consent like female children do thereby denying them an education and a say over their lives like we see happening in many parts of Africa on a daily basis?
did it happen to any of your sister's or female relatives?

Its almost legal 4 a female to enroll into prostitution, but 4 a guy 2 bcm a cultist, watch hw security forces will frustrate u. females always playin d victim card. A boy child of 12yr old is already told 2 be takin responsibilities, while a female child even at d age of 35 Still lives comfortably, feeding 4rm d parents.

Na lie. Igbos treat girl child or females better and they're given maximum attention, care and protection. If the commodity you are talking about is because of bride price, then you have said nothing. Tell me any tribe that gives their daughters free of charge to intending suitors. For you to enjoy ur bride, you must pay something on her head. Na long throat for free of charge wife go kee you!!!
All that na wash.
Inheritance things wey be the Koko matter nko.

What is this one even saying? As in how? .The females easily get job than the males.
2. The females easily get job promotion than the males. E.g in the force(army, Navy, Airforce) they don't stress them like the way they stress the men.
3. Females easily get favoured by the males. E.g 500k gift a lady received from a man who splashed water on her. Una think say to be a man na Bobo? If e easy, bobrisky 4 no change to woman.

what do we do again, carry the world and give to ladies?

Right now people could deny u job just because u are a man, when you apply for some jobs, they will just tell u we are not looking for males.

Men are grossly undervalued but ladies will play the victim cards here
Dont mind that mugu

Other regions value their girls. Igbo is the worst. And some parts of SS. Ini Ido is from SS where girls are worthless. So, she should speak for this tribe only and not involve others. I know many tribes in SS and SW even in the North that value girls. The only challenge wirh north is religion...and it affected all of them.
