My suggestion would be to sympathize with a man living in dangerous conditions in a Georgia prison, but not to accept his self-serving arguments for his innocence. He's guilty.

Here's the thing with DNA evidence: if it's not you, it's usually really obvious. You don't have to prove it with deep statistical analysis. It's just ... not there. What they had was close enough to present to a jury, "inconclusive" only by a narrow technical reading of the law and the science. That's why he tried to get a court to throw it out: as evidence, it's solid enough.

Again: the victim testified. I'm going to read this transcript, and read this testimony. Every new comment in this thread re-victimizes a 13-year-old girl.

I am arguing loudly that most of the people in prison in Georgia should be released right now on humanitarian grounds. I wouldn't make that argument for Bah today, based on what I've seen. He should never be a free man again.

Do you really and truly believe that if he is guilty, that he will come out to plead innocent of the crime? not even pleading for a shorter sentence? but innocence

Many people here are quick to hang me based on one false and manipulated evidence , I have shared 3 different evidences which no one have been able to disprove any of them...........

Why are you so quick to hang me?

I have seen many Americans get into trouble in Asia, fellow American always rally round to find the best way to help....even American embassy in Tokyo always rush to defend their own citizens ........

If you guys can not help me, could you just please stop spreading false informations........

Ask reasonable questions that matters to this case and I will provide answers.......

I am innocent of this crime

I am a husband
I am a father to 2 beautiful boys
I do have beautiful and lovely families.......

I have travelled over 20 countries and I have never seen this type of injustice......

All I am asking is for due process to be followed......isn't that what 14th amendment of United State constitution guaranteed.....

Georgia 1983 constitution, article 1 bill of rights also quarantee this due process ......

May God Help Me

I'm beginning to consider a grand conspiracy involved in this case, as regards the recent emergence of dubious characters whose only aim is undermining Powerhouse5050's right to an appeal by subduing the interest of people bent on ensuring a retrial and a fair hearing.
Whatever information the defendant is withholding is crucial if truly he's in need of deserving help.
His brief history.
His travels.
His engagements.
His acquaintances in Nigeria, Japan and US.
His next plans and intentions in the US before his arrest and incarceration.
A clear picture of people he knows in the state and those he came across during his brief stay in the US.
Any grudge, conflict of interest, debt, deals etc with locals, neighbours, vendors, law enforcement etc no matter how negligible it might be, can be the missing link.
Body fluids can be swapped.
Clothes can be stolen and disposed of close to the crime scene.
The witness can be compromised.
IN FACT THE RAPE MIGHT NOT HAVE EVEN OCCURED in the first instance, and the victim can be a victim of child abuse by paedophiles in form of parents, guardians, neighbours etc.
A great possibility if a setup exists going by the defendant's behaviors on this forum.
You might never know who's foot you stepped on that hurts the most.
About racism: Colour on colour racists exists and is not just limited to White hates on blacks.
The defendant should be wary of his approach lately on this forum.
Left to me, all questions and comments should be directed to a few people vetted by him on this thread, who in turn will be in constant communication with him.
I don't want his chances to a fair appeal botched.
Were watching from the side.
Shalom.

I believe 12 jurors spent the better part of a week hearing evidence during a trial and unanimously -- and quickly -- voted to convict him. A jury conviction is a powerful statement of guilt that requires more than a cursory claim of innocence to ignore. The burden of proof shifts to Bah to prove his innocence after that kind of conviction, and he's not meeting that burden, since everything he's arguing would have been evident to those 12 jurors.

He also has tremendous incentive to lie like hell right now, given what he's facing in prison.

There's no point in arguing half-measures: you can't sort-of-rape a 13-year-old girl, and there's no real provision for leniency in sentencing given the conditions. The only way he ever gets out of prison is by arguing that the state broke its own laws prosecuting him. And, again, he isn't offering sufficient evidence of that, because that's a high hurdle to leap.

Yeah. He did it. I can say that because a jury said it.

So because a JURY said it, it automatically translates that he is guilty of the crime? Are JURYS God, that they do not make mistake? So every other person that has been sentenced for crimes they never commited, was it not also JURY that said it?

The sooner beer parlour contributors stop posting the better. This is not your classic racial bias case and just shouting race is not the approach. You have to be able to disprove the evidence that convicted him.

- The jury returned a verdict guilt after just one hour of deliberation and a 6 day trial.
- He was given the maximum sentence.

I am not a lawyer but I do know enough about the criminal justice system to know that these 2 factors are very compelling. I won’t be reading a 1200 page transcript but anyone that doubts his conviction should be doing that at a minimum if you really, really want to help him. You can’t pick and choose what you want to hear/read or hang on what the gentleman sends for posting. Access the full transcripts and dig in!

I totally agree with you.

That is a biased and unprofessional article possibly written by a racist and bigoted individual.
It is just a witer's opinion which is not worth the paper its written on.
He is not accused any crime so what is the relevance of this article.

The OP cannot self defend in a US criminal proceeding of this nature and magnitude. He also claimed to have paid $150,000 to lawyers.
I can bet my life he was defended by a indigent public defender because that is the way the system works over there. You must have a lawyer to defend you or have one appointed on his behalf.

I agree with the writer who suggested the OP appeal the sentencing, he won't get anywhere with overturning the convictions.
He has only one chance at appeal and he will do well not to blow it.

Sentiments, emotions, prayers and so on will not get him out. Publicity won't help either as Nigerian government don't care and have no diplomatic clout to pull any weight internationally.
Lots of innocent people are languishing in Nigerian jails and the same leaders do not really care. If he is counting on naija government to come to his aid in the US, its a waste of time.

Pardon my inquiry. How does someone appeal a 3 life plus 76 years sentences?
To 2 life, 1 life or simply a fraction of the 76 years?
76 years is roughly 27740 days though in prison it's halved.
The hell no.
Can you advice your brother who claims innocence of a crime to appeal such verdict?

According to a simple, easy Google search, George contributes to Fox5Atlanta, the website from which the “scandalous story “ was gotten and from his comment when he quoted the post, probably wrote it himself, tongue-in-chick so joke’s on the poster.

Conspiracy theories are beginning to germinate and as usual, logic is being thrown out of the window. Disappointing but not surprising. I reiterate that anyone that wants to prove his innocence should start by reading his 1200 page transcripts, that is what anyone looking to overturn the verdict would first have to do. My people like to talk but won’t put their time and data where their mouth is.

Two US based individuals who can authoritatively speak on this issue have expressed their opinions which they are entitled to. No be matter of potopoto fight, name calling and failed attempt at mud-slinging. Sentiments will not overturn the verdict, real work is required. Supporters should assign pages of the full transcripts to themselves and get to work. Or better still, raise money (before $1 enter #600) to pay a lawyer that will take on the task.

GeorgeChidi:
Alright. Enough.

I'm George Chidi. I'm an investigative journalist of Nigerian descent, living in Georgia. I write for The Intercept and appear on local television in Atlanta. I am familiar with Douglas County, criminal justice issues in Georgia and the mechanisms of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation crime lab.

Google me. I'm easy to find.

A friend contacted me to take a look at this. The claims of Adedoja Bah do not stand up to cursory examination. He was convicted not as a matter of mistaken identity, but because DNA found at the scene matched his own. He's arguing that the tests were flawed, but a court ruled that they were not: the testing mechanism is the gold standard and the very best available. Here's the ruling: https://www.cybgen.com/information/admissibility/Bah2019.pdf

I would be the first person to advocate for someone convicted out of racial bias in Georgia. It exists. But that's not what happened here, and certainly not in Douglas County, which is not the rural banjo-playing south. It's a relatively affluent suburb of Atlanta that voted 2-to-1 for Joe Biden last year. There are parts of Georgia where justice for a Black person can be immediately questioned. Douglas County isn't one of them. It's the Nigerian equivalent of Ota or Lekki when talking about Lagos. He's trying to make it sound like he was arrested in Maiduguri.

The Georgia prison system is, indeed, terrible. It is unsanitary and dangerous -- and extremely so for people who commit crimes against children. His life is legitimately at risk. And so, I can imagine why he would look for some way to get out of prison.

But he did it. He's guilty of the crime. His protests are self-serving lies by a man with nothing but his life left to lose.

George, thank you for the time taken to look into this case. Truly appreciated. David said you've done your research and that Mr Bah isn't completely honest. But my question is that in view of this evidence, is it possible that he was framed? Is it possible that his DNA was implanted on the crime scene by someone behind the scene?

Yes, arguing that the test is flawed is a very dumb move because it's Gold standard. But I'm just looking for a possibility of this being an innocent man.

In addition to your questions: was the girl a virgin? Was Mr Bah visually identified by the victim? Was the victim cross examined by the defense? Was she a virgin? Was there a tear in her anus to indicate forceful-first time sodomy?
The duration of the incidence? Were was his semen removed from the victim before DNA was carried out? Is the semen sample still in preservation?

Shalom.
