Once you get your salary go to market and buy your foodstuffs at wholesale price. Spag from market is 310 and not 350, buying foodstuff within the street is stupidly crazy. Stop borrowing and try and make a budget round your income. 25k , safe 4-5k keep 2k for emergency then buy food stuff with the remaining, 15k will definitely be enough for foodstuff.

My brother, theree Is little or nothing you can do about it. You can send like 10k to someone in a northern state to get you food stuff and waybill to you if you have a trusted person, or Buy your food stuff with a months salary in bulk and save the following month or wait until the current ruler step down while we pray for a leader

your problem is that u overspend on food, not having friends is very bad.Let me give you how I feed with less than the amount you have.
Morning-oat goes for 1000 for 500g *4=4000
Evening-hungry man indomie for 200*7=1400*4=5600.
From above basic feeding is At most 10000
You can be using 3000for miscellaneous and afternoon feeding sometimes all through the month.
Remaing amount is12000 close eye and be saving 7000 out of it.
use the rest for what ever.
My two cents, hustling stage is not a place of enjoyment, there is also pain before the gain

Before 20th of the month, all the foodstuffs would be consumed, i will have to go on to borrow money to eat before the end of the month

And in Nigeria where there is no job security, they can fire me from work anytime, how will i leave work without no saving and will still go home eating mama's food

This is the reasons why i don't have gf,friends or visit them at home thinking it will save me more money to save

Y'all should stop criticizing the guy. I earn double of that, no girlfriend. But the money no dey do me.

A new job, they pay me for the month in the third to fourth week of the next month sha.

Parents dey collect from my pay and I don't cook (Buhari's Nigeria makes eating out cheaper than cooking - prove me wrong on this if you can). I am contemplating beginning cooking this month. I nor sabi cook. But I have a plan on what to do.

Pele. I feel your pains but truth is you cannot eat all you earn. Its not natural. Open a savings account and don't collect ATM card for it. Then pay 5k into it. Invest in bulk buying. Buy at least 2 cartons of noodles. That ensures you at least a meal everyday and it cost 5k. Spice it up with veggies like ugu or water leaf so as to introduced nutrients into the meal. Buy cheap foods like cocoyam and sweet potatoes. Eat cheaper soups like okra and veggies. Buy kpomo and locust beans, your food will be sweet. These are survival tips you should have learned as an undergraduate. Most importantly, pls find alternate sources of income. Do side hustles on the weekend, buy an electric iron, then approach some reasonable people at church or on your street, offer to do their laundry for a token. Or get a mentor and learn a trade or craft. Buy things and resell... I once had a cousin back in the university who used to sell male bags... Those ones you sling over one shoulder and off you go. Dude was in medical school and so were most of his customers. He made madt monwy from it too. Entrepreneur spirit is gradually dying out as everyone wants an easy ride. I hope you can pick sth from thisy long story sha.

That is 500 hundred a day. Times 30 days is 15k.

Is 10k enough for other expenses like transport to work, toiletries, recharge card etc for a month?

Work towards changing your job to a better paying job. Look out for additional legitimate sources of income.
Re: How My Monthly Salary Is Used On Foodstuff Only by ukaface(f): 8:40pm On Oct 15, 2021
OP.
This just involves you budgeting your money, and also learning how to manage the little you have.
Wetin you dey buy for 25k? Don't do fast food o, Omo that's the easiest way to loosely lavish your money.
Can't you make stew to last you for two weeks?
you can accurately budget your money to spend 10k on foodstuffs per month, then keep like 5k for miscellaneous, you'll still have extra 10k,to manage and save.
It just involves discipline.
