NO WAY and anyone who believes such news in this day and age needs to be taken to one remote village and dumped there.

I doubt the authenticity of this news. The electric flows is strong enough to kill a human.

Imagine, the wife was even flung away too...

Maybe the deceased made contact with a high tension wire.

Not possible. Something else killed him. The voltage and current from a phone charger is mostly 3.7V and 2.0A which is not lethal.

Maybe he was making use of a fake charger which was poorly built and it didn't filter out the AC voltage completely.

Osaki Diri, a Media Aide to the member representing Degema state Constituency, Rivers State House of Assembly, has died.

Osaki Diri was electrocuted on Thursday, October 14, in Port Harcourt, a friend of his told LIB.

According to the LIB source, Diri's phone was charging when a call came in.

"He picked the call while it was charging and got electrocuted," the source said.

"His wife saw him and tried helping but the electric threw her away," our source added.

Hours before his sudden death, Osaki was active on Facebook, releasing a press statement for his local government council and engaging with friends on their posts.

His death leaves his wife of less than two months a widow. He got married in August 2021.

Friends have gone on Facebook to express their shock following the news of Diri's death.

A friend hailed him as a dedicated choirmaster who served God with his "strong baritone voice."

Most of the time it has nothing to do with the transformer or high input voltage. It is more about this cheap Android phones, go to GSM Arena I read the reviews on some phones like tecno and infinix you would be shocked

Very unfortunate.
The amount of substandard stuff entering the country now is just too much. Is it the state of the economy causing it? Guess most importers will import cheap fake stuff so they could make a profit while Nigerians manage to buy with their lean pockets.
Another item guys should be careful of is cigerette lighters. In the past 1 month 7 have blown spontaneously. Twice in my pocket, on my seat in the car(Ac on so no heat), on the table in front of me. They just explode. Thank God none ignited.
