Trump was apparently the problem

But the visa bulletin was moving during his time until COVID . I thought Biden was good but he’s main focus is now on the illegal migrants .

Hi all. Great submissions all through, learnt alot. Glad I found this forum. Like many others, I'm also on this journey that has become such a long tumultuous process of waiting, hoping and praying. My pd is June 2015, DQ May 2021, awaiting interview letter. Having read through almost all pages on this forum, I have a question or should I say a small worry concerning my case or perhaps I'm just being paranoid. My category is F1, but about 3 -4 years ago , I applied for non immigrant visiting visa which was denied but in that application, I filled married, cause I was engaged then and thought I was going to get married, which didn't happen, which makes me single up till today. Now my question to the experts in the house is, now that I'm awaiting my interview letter for my immigrant visa, if that comes through hopefully soon, will I be asked about the change of my marital status at the embassy because of what I filled in my visiting visa application form years ago, or will they just go by what's filled in my ds260 which indicates single? This is my question. Looking forward to your replies. Thank you in advance!

Why should you say you were married, when you were not even sure the marriage will happen..That is tantamount to lies..
Anyways it should not affect your immigrant visa because it is your sponsors profile that matters most..Meanwhile why did you apply for another visa when you already have one in process..una desperation no go put un for trouble
Re: At The NVC Processing Stage Of The U. S Family Based Preference Category. by Jasmine90216: 12:32pm On Oct 17, 2021
Thank you for your reply but please take it easy on the judgement. It was purely ignorance. And the part about desperation, it's not what you think. I wanted to attend an important family function and they all agreed that I should try to apply for a visiting visa since its not a law that if your filing case is under process you can't apply for a visiting visa. So that's it. Anyways all the same I appreciate your feed back. May lines fall into places for everyone seeking live changing opportunities.

There’s nothing wrong in applying for visiting visa while waiting for your immigration case.

We got and renewed multiple b1/b2 and now we are living in the USA on an L1 visa while waiting for our f4 immigrant visa to be current.

The key is to always remain honest and consistent. If you are asked during the interview about the discrepancy, be honest and hope for the best!

Its such a complicated issue, I would advice you wait till tge Interview letter is sent to you and please dont think of getting any divorce paper for marriage you didnt do because it would surely be verified and that could be very costly.Misrepresentation is a serious issue in US immigrant visa. You can maintain the single and explain that in your culture co habiting is liking to being married .

Oh many thanks for your input and advice. I will surely take this to heart. Yes it's complicated but the attorney handling the case for my sponsor advice us to leave my ds260 has single since that's my current status. Hopefully it won't come up in the interview and if it does, this advice you gave sure makes sense. Thanks once again

Thats better i had someone too that filled married and luckily for him he was going out with his present wife but not married while filling the ds160 form then he wrote the name of her present wife and fast forward during his immigrant visa interview he was asked for how long has he been married and how long he been dating the wife that clear the whole problem for him.

It worth to be paranoid about. It might bore down to that point. It's called misrepresentation in immigration term. There is nothing you can do than to be honest which means you attests to committing misrepresentation, and if you want to take other route, you will just be digging the hole deeper. Good luck.

Yes, I didn't see this before I advised. That is the only card to play to get out from the misrepresentation trap. That he cohabited with his partner. But before it could get to the level of court registry, you guys splited up.

My priority date is December 2012, I'm under F4 category, I have been given NVC case number to check my status on CEAC. I am looking at the bulletin and looking at approximately an additional 5 more years before I am current. Can someone please look at the bulletin and verify that I am calculating right? I've been waiting for 9 years and that bulletin moves at snail pace.

It's 14 years duration and it's going to 15 years now. I am Feb 2007. I received welcome letter in September 2019, yet to get IL. Trump and covid somehow added extra 2 years because the backlogs stood at 495k with average monthly treatment of 25k and if at full capacity it can't pass 50k monthly.

There's absolutely no wrong in applying for different visa types. In fact they do give on queue IV applicants visit visas too

That’s if she is not from Igbo or Yoruba because the embassy knows those 2 cultures like the back of their hands

Goodmorning everyone. Please my sister filed for my mom. While filling the forms she was asked about the details of other kids my mom has. We just got a mail scheduling her for interview. The names of some of her kids were also listed and they have all been requested to go for medicals and to come for interview as additional applicants. My concerns are:
1. What is the implication of this , does it mean that everyone listed could be granted a visa and subsequently green card.
2. What is the fate of any of the listed persons who is already married.
3. Why were some names omitted.
Thank you.

Where was the name of other children listed? for your sister petitioning for your mother there is no way your mum could have other derivative applicants i mean other children attached and called for an interview maybe the want to know the other children should your mum intend to fill for them in the future.

Thanks for your response. In the mail, it states that the main applicant and all additional applicants who wish to migrate with her should do the medicals and appear for the interview. Four out of six children were listed out of which one is married. The last two who are less than 21 were the ones not listed .

I believe they meat the main applicant and other additional applicants (if any) since they don't know for sure if there's any additional applicants

Go to a Magistrate Court and get a Divorce Certificate. you can now tell them you married her traditionally and bride price as been returned back for a long time, but only recently you decided to get the divorce certificate because of your visa process. US embassy recognized bride-price as valid marriage. and they also no that return of bride-price is a divorce but you need a paper work for that.........your case is similar to mine but i did not apply from Nigeria..........i visited US 4 times before Relocating with Immigrant Visa IR1.

Best Advise get a Divorce from a magistrate court (Customary Court) not fake but walk into one and get your Divorce certificate.

Surely it will come up on your interview. is not too late to get your Divorce certificate. you Applied as Married then and now you are applying as single. the only thing that Proof that is a Divorce Certificate. in my case i Paid the Bride price but no court paper or any legal documents that shows we are married. but Embassy Recognized Pride price as a legal marriage. when the whole thing did not work out i went to Magistrate Court to obtained a Divorce certificate not fake and not back door. while on visit in USA i met my new wife and we got married here in USA. and after marriage i went back to my Base. and she filed for me..... i visited US 4 times and each visit i spend 3 weeks, i just relocated this year February...........but the Interveners in Nigeria will scrutinize your Document for sure. they always look for mistake....but if you are applying from a first world country then no issues

My cousin's mother's interview was denied and they were asked to do DNA testing. He told me he has done his own there in Houston Texas but his mother is yet to be called for her own sample collecting in Lagos embassy. What will be their next step and how long are they looking at for the whole process? I have been taking the poor woman to and fro Lagos for the process but now, I am about to travel out myself so I'm trying to help as much more as I can until I leave. Please give me as much info as you can.
