Lagos is a typical Yoruba state. The reason it’s has the highest Yoruba population in Lagos.

Don’t you know?
It also has the highest Igbo population. More Igbos in Lagos than in Anambra.

Hmm! From that data, Abuja had more air traffic compared to Lagos and it's somehow unbelievable.

Again, how come Owerri's air traffic is increasing even to the extent it is higher than that of Kano inspite of the seeming insecurity in the region and the incessant seat at home orders? Does it mean that the city is more economically viable than we think? Food for thought!

Stats can really be incredible at times.

Lagos has a higher number of struggling people compared to Abuja hence that data you see there.
Struggling people don't board planes, they board buses, also with the current bandit situation people with means would rather travel via flight to Abuja than Lagos

For them to have such is a plus to the state because it's in close proximity with Lagos.

You didn't see Niger state because Abuja and Kaduna is a connecting route to such. Your flight can be cancelled or rescheduled if it's not up to an expected number of passengers, so why take such risk when you can connect your journey through other states...

Most airlines finds it difficult to fly when the flight is not fully booked due to high cost of aviation fuel. Most people will prefer to drive from Lagos to Ibadon than to be at the airport like an hour before boarding which is almost enough time to drive done to Ibadon

Owerri is basically a cargo airport plus the complimentary use it has become since they closed Enugu passenger airport. Although it's been open but it's like passenger airlines still use the airport too.

Stats can really be incredible at times.

Owerri and port Harcourt is currently Nigeria's next destination!! The two cities is developing massively

I wish IPOB will stop this rubbish!! Owerri should be more than 63k of air traffic. The city is bubbling

Well, that’s not the point. Yoruba are 5 times the population of any ethnic group in Lagos.

What do you expect ? considering the proximity of Ibadan t Lagos, should it even have an Airport ? except for congestion that might happen at Lagos Airport, whichever way Ibadan is fine, if we want to develop the Airport it would not take anything to do so.

Its true, I've seen Aviation database data before now from FAANs Billing Data Agrigator System,

Daily flight from Abuja Airport is more than that of Lagos Airport

We were shocked at first, but statistics don't lie!

For a country with over 200 million people, the aviation statistics is very poor.

Yes, more than 5million Igbos in Lagos. Let me give you a picture, If you go right now to my village in the southeast, you would discover that the number of people staying there is far less than those in Lagos. Every Igbo village has a vibrant community in Lagos. We all hold our end-of-the-year meetings in Lagos. Ask any of your Igbo friends. We are a traveling people and many of us have made the big cities our home.
Where do you get your stats from?
Yorubas don't makeup to half the population of Lagos. Even traditional Yoruba areas like Ikorodu are becoming very watered down. Lagos is a cosmopolitan city.

The distance from Owerri Airport to Port Harcourt is not upto 1hr 30mins both are doing well with passengers traffic.

No tribe in Nigeria travels like the Igbos.
So, it's only natural that airports in the east will always experience high traffic.

I noticed on 10th October that passengers had already booked Air Peace airplanes flying Lagos to Owerri and Enugu from 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th December. All sold out and the air ticket is 95k. Tomorrow, people go still dey talk say money no dey. grin
I am one of those who have already booked for 26 december, but my golly! This is the same ticket i used to buy for 29k. Perhaps that is what they mean by money no dey. undecided
