someone shared this some time ago and I felt I should share 4 those of us travelling soon.

If you travel by air a lot, beware of over friendly chatty seat neighbours

The older lady comes and sits next to me inside the plane. She asked me to help her put her bag in the overhead luggage compartment. But a gentleman sitting across quickly came through. (I am not very tall and the overhead luggage compartment is something I try to avoid at all costs.

Immediately she sits down she strikes up a conversation. She was very pleasant and well spoken. So we chatted all through the flight to Dubai.
Suddenly, when the pilot announced that we were now proceeding to begin our descent into DXB, my good friend 'developed' stomach pains. Me with my good heart, I pressed the stewards button, and the stewardess came to find out what the problem was. I told her my seat mate was not feeling well. And this lady, she suddenly began to address me as 'my daughter'.

The stewardess told me that there was nothing they could do except give her some painkillers and wait until we landed. The pilot announced that we had a medical emergency on board and advised us all to stay calm. My new friend was crying and sweating like crazy. And she refused to let go of my hand... everyone assumed we knew each other.

So we landed at DXB and the same gentleman who helped put up her luggage in the overhead compartment removed her luggage. But as he removed the luggage, he advised me to distance myself from this lady and make it clear to the cabin crew that we were NOT travelling together. He was a godsend!

So indeed, the cabin crew came and asked me if we were related, I categorically told them we had met on the plane. I didn't know her at all. So we began to deplane and as I said goodbye she kept begging me to carry her handbag. I was so torn... but the gentleman looked me in the eye and emphatically shook his head. He passed me a note telling me to let the cabin crew handle her.

So I exit the aircraft and leave my 'new friend' to wait for the wheelchair and be handled by the cabin crew feeling very guilty.

As we waited for our luggage to come through, I hear this commotion. My 'new friend' was running, trying to escape the cabin crew, having gotten out of the wheelchair! She left the stewardess with her handbag and just ran towards the exit with the rest of her hand luggage! Luckily the airport police were faster than her. They got hold of her and brought her back in handcuffs.

This lady starts calling out to me.. my daughter... my daughter!.. how could you do this to me..... that's when I caught on. She was carrying drugs and she was trying to implicate me!

Luckily for me, the gentleman who had helped her with her luggage came forward and told the airport police that me and her had just met on the plane. The police took my passport and asked her to reveal my full names if it was true we were travelling together. By God's grace, I had not even told her my first name! I was still asked to follow the police to a little room where I was questioned extensively. Where did I meet her?... where did I board... where did she board. Etc... And my luggage was extensively searched and dusted for fingerprints.

They dusted all her luggage and my fingerprints were not found anywhere on her luggage or on her handbag!
I was let go with advice never ever to touch anyone's luggage either in flight or at the airport. So from that day, I don't care how much luggage you have, you will deal with it yourself. I will not even offer you a trolley to put your luggage on! Your luggage... your problem.... is my policy. And if you can't reach the overhead compartment, and I am the nearest person, please call the cabin crew because all I will do is give you a blank stare and then look away!

A lesson to glean therein for intending air travelers.

What a lesson, I have done this a couple of times, help people with their luggage into the overhead compartment. New policy developed and approved with immediate effect. Thanks for sharing this

You can check out NBCC and NSCC, if you do not see a course you can do there, then you will go with the available schools. Except you get a fully funded thesis based program for MSC, Course based Msc will be difficult cause of the grade except MBA which does not come cheap. Generally, colleges in Canada are not exactly cheap shaa.

Hi guys please I would like to know of any school that has an IT related PGD or graduate certificate Course of below 10,000 tution for international students. Cambrian, Fanshawe,Seneca, Centennial,Connestoga and George Brown range from #14,000 to 21000CAD.
Or a general course which I can qualify for (Degree in Comp Science 2.2) which isn't IT related but cheaper than the above listed

Hi,
If ET Airline is taking you to your final destination, then check-in your luggage to your FINAL destination from departure.

If you are using another airline to your final destination, then you have to get ur luggage at Toronto before proceeding for the next flight.

Cheers

I’m not sure you can find any School tuition fees for international student in Canada less than 10,000CAD, yearly tuition fee is always 15,000CAD or more.

The generic reason for the delay doesn't point to finances IMO. In your SOP, did you convince the VO that your application was genuinely for study purposes? The one-year certificate program may raise a red flag, just a perspective. They’re very strict about the study permit being a temporary visa thing.
They mentioned Financial status honourable.let him or her see the note 1st cos I think paying just one semester school and incase he or she did not submit asset may b a red flag plus maybe lum sum

Please guys I need advice on this . Please oo

I made tuition deposit of 2000cad to MUN but for my study visa I used an another institution to apply because I got their admission earlier. I will no longer attend MUN as I decided to stick with the school I gave ircc. I made an admission withdrawal to MUN and requested for my deposit back. I got this from them
"The Deposit is non-refundable except when the visa application is rejected. Please provide the visa rejection proof before your refund request can be processed further".

Is there no way of getting my money back? Can't I appeal against their decision? I was only issued an admission and its for January 2022. Never used the school for my study visa application.
Please help thanks

I am in Nigeria. I got admission to University of Regina for a master in Software engineering.

I applied in May 15th with no decision yet. But as part of my application I made tuition deposit of 15K CAD. And part has been used up for 3 courses I registered for during this semester - 8k CAD plus.

I have been doing 3 courses (Algebra, Calculus and Static Mechanics),not been easy though

While My Aunt who also stays in lagos put in application for her daughter to start grade 9 in a catholic high school in Ottawa.
I also helped during that application. We put in visitor permit for her and studeny permit for the child(13years) in August 27.

Decision came in today for passport request for bothe of them. The daughter already started her classes ( Canada Geographyy and English) The plan was to start online 2 subjects and to start in person 8th of November. I initially came online Nairaland to get help or check similar case with high school applicant, but seems it was a rare application. But we went ahead to do the application ourself and itended with praise for them. Now I will wait for mine .

jayifeanyi1234:
Good day @ whitened. Big congrats!
With this post, it means you are not in Canada yet. I thought otherwise.
So you applied for visiting for your Mum, and Study for daughter and they where granted. Do you have someone they are going to meet, or you just applied?
Pls, would love to know the detailed summary.

Thanks

Thank God safe trip
May Canada favour you

Please clarify

Were you charged 300k for the remaining four 23k luggage?

Lianna2020:
LANDING GIST

My flight was scheduled for 10:55 pm on Sunday.
We all went to the airport by 2:00pm because we had excess luggage and also to check in on time.
At 2, there wasn’t any crowd, we had 23kg into ten places (entitled to just 6 bags at 23kg) and paid 300k for extra luggage.

Things requested for at Nigerian airport:
1. Arrive can
2. Stamped visas
3. Enrollment letter
4. Covid 19 test

We finished all checks around 5:pm. Please no matter the time for your flight, try and get to the airport early because the crowd from five ehn!, I wouldn’t have meet up if I went late.

Tickets were printed out, yellow card given as well and passport scanned.

I said final goodbyes to my in-laws around eight and got checked in.

We used Lufthansa, we left 10:55pm and got to Frankfurt after 6 hours. We had layover of about six hours.

Things asked at Frankfurt by immigration.

1. Arrive can
2. Visas
3. Covid test result
4. Quarantine plan (14 days at Airbnb)

Our flight to Vancouver moved around 1:35pm on Monday (Germany time). It was the longest ten hours of my life. I never knew traveling with an active baby was this hard. They served their usual
Leaves but I no gree chop am because my turkey and meat Dey my bag Dey wait me(lol).

We got to Vancouver around 14:35(Vancouver time )on Monday . I filled arrival form on the system and moved to immigration.

At immigration in Vancouver, no cue or crowd at all.
Things asked by immigration:
1. Stamped visas of hubby , I and baby.
2. Hubby’s letter of authorization (the letter sent after your pp has been stamped ).

His work permit and baby’s visit visa was printed. No need for mine as i already had my study permit since July .
I waited for welcome to Canada and nothing grin, yet again.

I and hubby got tested for covid at the airport and self test kit given for day eight test.

We moved to claim luggages(every bag complete ) there after entered taxi to our Airbnb for quarantine.

I wish everyone all the best.
Amen

Thanks a lot. I didn't even know about those colleges and they don't show up on the Google searches for cheap colleges. NBCC has supply chain management for 9484( I have worked as an Inventory Officer so I should be Eligible) and NSCC has Full stack development for 11,000. I will look into these colleges. Thanks a lot again

Affidavit and gift deed serve different purposes. You can actually do both. Letter of sponsorshio may not necessarily be needed if there's an affidavit of support. But I'll advise to still do it. Explain everything in clear terms. Have a great day!

Sorry about that, I’m not gurus oooh, but I bet you don’t read their refund policy before making the payment, that’s is why is better you must know any school refund policy and make sure they are flexible with there refund policy before making any commitment. Even you will have to even fortified part of your tuition deposit if your study permit was refused in some school, but some do total refund excluding the administrative fee.
