Form my mum:
I learnt to be contented with what I have. She would always say "Wetin no reach go come remain" which I later on in life discovered to be true.

She also say "your own na your own and our own na our own" meaning there nothing as having/getting your own things you really need other than depending on other people's things which u can, with time and patience, get for yourself and use it the way u want.

Then I learnt how to cook. Even my wife no say she no fit do me yanga. I go just enter kitchen now now and everywhere go begin scent.

From my dad:
Nothing. Because he passed on when I was barely 9 years old. I can only recall him being stern, also know how to cook ehn and he usually takes us to buy Delima ice back then in the 80s.

Both were hard working. I tried to go that route, I realised it wouldn't be the best route for me. So, I decided to work smart, like not working at all but still making income.
Secondly, I learnt a lesson to always resolve any issue with my wife and not allow it to lead to separation for the sake of the kids.

My father! management, you must account for every penny. While I was in school, before he gives you money you most draft a budget. Borrowing money is never allowed. He always says 'manage your difficulties'. As an adult this lesson always sticks with me. I don't try to borrow money to buy what I can not afford to impress people who don't even care.

Mom and dad will always advise me to watch who I follow and it's really true...especially this days, bad influence, unfriendly via's everywhere.

Like what was written in the scripture show me your friend and i'll tell you who you are. So it clear I learn a lot but this stick forever in the memory.... But I need advise I dey get trust issues with everyone I come across

My mum especially. If I had just 10% of her good heart, I'd be okay.

She never discriminates. She preaches respect for everyone. She is accommodating, many people lived with us at one point or the other. Many women thronged our house for advice from her. I learnt from her the spirit of mind your business. She taught me never to be money crazed or be materialistic. I've held unto that till tomorrow. From my mum, I learnt how to be a loving mum and a strict disciplinarian. You could excel in both.
My dad's attitude is live and let live. Nothing ever irks him. He has never beaten me. He just provides. He is a "hardworker", you can't be lazy around my dad. I learnt from him selfless giving just like mum. The two of them are givers.
