With reviews, one thing worth remembering is that its usually those that have problems that come out to give reviews... Hence when you go to the comments section of most apps (even well rated ones) on playstore, Twitter or Facebook, its usually full of complaints...

I took the liberty to look at mainstream bank apps on playstore... They all had worse ratings with numerous complaints. Kudas app does perform better than similar app only banks.
I'd guestimate that an overwhelming majority of kuda users have had no issues whatsoever...

Regarding new models, most would thread with caution and only place little sums there. With time their confidence in the platform increases. Also, they could more easily build a savings section where they pay people rates better tgan mainstream banks on held deposits. If the NSE was going to upgrade and enable folks buy and trade stocks easily on mobile as a way of attracting the youth, then Kuda is better suited than most others...
In all, they're still a young company but rate of growth has been impressive.

A couple of days ago, bitc0in was trading at a very very modest 66,000 usd...

I scrolled back to mid May on this thread and while smiling read from page 1895 to a few pages afterwards
https://www.nairaland.com/878880/treasury-bills-nigeria/1894

Quite interesting how quickly a market can change....
I took the liberty of attaching 3 quotes I made then...

1.
jedisco:

I remember this post from a while back....

Today 3 months after, bitc0in nicely hit 30k....
Of course, the narratives are numerous and the FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) is everywhere...

For those who have waited to get into bitc0in, this might represent an opportunity, for those who believe, it'd eventually go to zero, again I say no worries.

2.
jedisco:

Of course, if bitc0in goes below 30k, I'd get some put in a cold wallet and let it be.... 3-6 months down the line, I'd look at what the price is and if I'm lucky its at 45k, I'd sell for over 50% profit. That's good enough for me..... The fact that bitc0in has not gone to zero as a good number predicted is good enough

3.
jedisco:

I love to diversify... But as tricky as investing can be and off all the stuff I invest in, if I was asked to name some that I could with some degree of certainty say I can buy today and in the next 2-3years, easily liquidate for profit, bitc0in would be top on that list... Worse still, I can stake it at 7% pa and let in cool down

Regarding, the naira, it's our national currency and difficult to criticize...but when Emiefele started his magic, I simply converted my naira to stable coyns at market price... Around that time, people were looking for where and how to buy dollars. If I wanted to, I could equally stake these stable coyns for about 7% pa and also not bother about volatility in naira or crypt0...

The crypt0 market has grown to almost 2 trillion dollar market cap. Whether I invest or not means nothing to the market....

It all still brings me to a something I've said on multiple occasions- that just as the internet did with communication, crypt0 will challenge and change the way value is held and transacted in ways we cannot yet imagine....

I usually would not blow my trumpet but on certain occasions, it's deserved.

Nothing wrong with Kuda.

Any problem you have with Kuda is what you will have with Access or Zenith or GTB except that Kuda is well, for lack of a better word, modern. They also have a feature only the fintechs have: informing you when the receiver of a transfer has received the transaction.

We have a fair number of luddites on this thread so don't expect Kuda to be given top marks here. In my opinion, Kuda has been better than First bank and access. They even offered automatic overdrafts based on transaction volume.

The CBN needs to create a special licensing regime for digital banks. Fintechs are currently using microfinance Bank licenses which are not ideal for the innovations they are capable of producing.

Still on crypt0... Gary tried to phrase it well

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by Sailor1: 8:04pm On Oct 22, 2021
The thing I like about bitc0in and crypt0 is that in the grand scheme of things, its still early days... It's just edging into mainstream adoption....

When bitc0in was below 20k, I did say I had more confidence in the longevity of bitc0in and crypt0 than I did on the Naira... Then, I sounded like a rascal to most. Today my conviction is beginning to pan out... Not necessarily because bitc0in has gone on a rally but because the underlying dynamics are becoming obvious- bitc0in has continued to transcend borders and while the Nigeria and the naira looks more fragile. If bitc0in was a currency, it'd be 13th worldwide by market cap while the naira sits at 45. Worse still, the naira is set in its path of inflation while the bitc0in is deflationary and should ultimately trend higher with time.

One thing thing I like Bitc0in for is that knowing a good time buy even for somone who doesn't follow the space,  can be straightforward... anyday I wake and see a flurry of posts and comments like I saw on nairaland in May, then I know the time to buy is near.... Like I always say, if one loses money trading the most bullish asset of the last decade- one that has outperformed virtually every other asset class by at least 10x, then they have no one else but themselves to blame.

But our banks are dirt cheap sha.

Paying about N30 billion for 7.5% ownership of First Bank

A bank with shareholders fund of over N600 million, Naira deposits of about N40 Trillion and dollar deposits of over $1 billion, 8 million customers a lot of billions of Naira in dormant accounts of dead customers.

Single handedly gave out a loan of $400 million to Kola Aluko and co, loan went bad but the bank is still standing

Just focus on the culprit na...
why are you using men as if he spoke out of a consensus with "Nigerian Men"?
There is no woman hating culture you can prove generally but there are badly socialised individuals who hate women and vice versal.
anyways, lets not distract the useful conversation happening here.
jedisco:

This is disrespectful... Can you apologize and take down that post... In a civilised society we all talk of, a statement like that traced to you might very well be the end of your career.

There is this woman hating culture growing on nairaland which is quite unfortunate. Like I've said multiple times, Nigeria gives you about the most privilege as a man. As a Nigerian man, your best deal likely lies with a Nigerian lady...
It's the poverty in the society that gives us the room to debase our ladies. This destructive culture is similar to what you get in African American socities...we can see where that has led them.
Fact is, if you think Nigerian ladies are not intelligent, its simply because Nigerian men are less intelligent than their female counterparts... We are all part of thesame genetic pool.

We should learn to treat everyone with respect.

Yes, that's why the CBN should create a category for digital banks like the UK did with the likes of Revolut.

Marketing is truly powerful. VFD has been offering unlimited free transfers for as long as I can remember. Kuda customers feel they're getting the best offer out there? grin

V by VFD is led by a financial institution by the way
Kuda on the other hand is co-led by a tech guy from the banking industry. The difference is clear. Before V Bank app, there was VFD Microfinance Bank (at Elephant House on the Island). Until Kuda app, there was no Kuda Microfinance Bank anywhere.

Otudeko lost his position because of his bad debts and his interference with the affairs of the bank.

Otudeko has sold his shares in order to pay down his debts, his Honeywell flour and Hotel on Victoria Island might also be sold. He has between now and before the end of the year to liquidate his debt of almost N80 billion
