It's not dt Ohaneze is incapacitated or dt govt has run out of ideas on how to stop d forcing of people to sit at home every Monday by smoker touts and hoodlums claiming to be ipob. The reason for d delay in action are:1. To see d direction of d agitators clearly.2.To do Anambra election successfully.
If not,a nod from Ohaneze / state govt to d fg would turn Anambra into a military barrack leading to d stoppage of d madness.Ohaneze on its own can liase with d state govt to form dreaded vigilante groups to counter d hoodlums.Snd people will support them in cash massively.
And dt will also affect ipob greatly.
It's high time ipob obeys the directive from Emma powerful their spokesperson by dealing with the touts still enforcing Monday sit at home order as well as call off he election boycott.Even MNK once soft pedalled and allowed for election to hold in Abia state.
If not, they will soon lose d support of d people they tend to enjoy.Freedom struggle is a long term thing and shld be fought with more of diplomacy considering d facts dt other states included as part of biafra by Kanu rejected d agenda.
lecturer, when you are tired of your useless lectures, you just go and sleep. I don't know why this sit at home is giving people sleepless nights while the those affected are happy complying. And which other organization will you form and where will the youth come from? I laugh in Swahili, you should ask yourself why ebube agu did not work out, no igbo youth is willing to cooperate with Vultures whose years of sabotage has under developed the igbos. They should continue running to Abuja for their usual brown envelop crumbs, they can't ever win the trust of igbos again. We are different from other loyal tribes, once you Bleep up as an igbo, you are a gonner, Ohaneze and the south east elites are gonners, they have no control of the people anymore because of their years of being willing tools

Ohaneze,
Your story never start. You're complaining that ordinary Mondays stay at home is devastating business, what will happen when there's full scale war? What will happen to the millions of Igbos who will flee to Biafra to escape tribal violence in other parts of the country?

Let all those delusional Igbos supporting a secession wake up to the horrors war and its dreadful consequences
Its only a foolish black man that sees secession as a call to war in this generation

IPOB has passed its message and must stop the sit at home now. They must not be like ASUU that has over used the strike option.

@ moderator. You must be living in abroad or probably not in Igbo land, and having your family outside the country, for you to actually state this. You're a demon if you could be so insensitive to the suffering, poverty and enslavement imposed on the Igbos since this sit at home started. God will judge people like you, posterity will judge corrupt and wicked minds like yours

Shameless slowpoke, willing tool that only knows how to suffer and smile. The founding fathers of this nation will be dissappointed in your likes, common get out of here

Sit-at-Home Necessary Evil Against Greater Evil Of Oppression - Gandhi

"Historically, sit-at-home is a nonviolent form of civil disobedience. It was deployed with remarkable success against the British Raj in India by Mahatma Gandhi. At the time in India, I think Gandhi was asked if it was necessary, and his measured response was that it was a necessary evil against the greater evil of British oppression.

"In their reaction, the British colonialists saw it as the greatest sign ever that Indians were never relenting in their quest for freedom. And what did the British do? They abandoned their usual course of levying force and rhetoric against the people and resorted to dialogue. So, the issue is not whether any sit-at-home is necessary but why the authorities are not deploying the facility of a dialogue to containing it."
I've read a lot about Gandhi but never about sit at home. I'd appreciate a link to it. I think IPOB copied it from southern Cameroon. Nevertheless, the authorities won't negotiate because, firstly, it has not direct impact on the earning of the nation unlike the militants the got amnesty because of oil. Secondly, the current Nigerian government has no regard for global opinions unlike Great Britain and as such, IPOB might as well wait till Jesus comes if they are expecting dialogue.

I'd start taking them serious when IPOBians world over observe the sit at home. Those on diaspora engage in their normal business but insist that those in South East stay at home. Even in Lagos, ladipo and computer village open on Monday and they earn their living while they insist those at home stay at home.

If u hv sit down and talk with d supporters of sit at home; u will realise that they were misinformed. I am glad that ohaneze is doing something about it. Ohaneze should apply more pressure in deescalating d lies they were fed. A lot of folks are tired of ipob but d fear of attack has made them kept mute and suffer silently. Buyers from bayelsa, rivers and their surroundings are afraid of coming to main mrkt as a result of fear induced by ipob. Elders and stake holders should start speaking up.

The hypocrisy of ipob members is very annoying. They condemn d senseless killings by nigerian state but extol the senseless killings by their members.

You can imagine giving power to people who doesnt even obey their own rules. Their mentality is more like talibans.

Why not work towards meeting their demand instead?
They wanted only one thing, which is the release of their leader.
Use this energy to negotiate with federal government to release their leader and sit-at-home will be a history.
What's the use of the group if they can't(and are not willing) protect the interest of the people they represent?

My suggestion to the Igbos, is to stay at home on mondays all over the world. If they stay at home all over, they'll be taken seriously and the world will notice their agitations. Money should stop being collected from the diasporans and sit at home instead.

That one week will definitely have an adverse effect on the south eastern economy. I just hope they can do better.
Did you know that after the civil war, the Igbos rebuilt the broken walls of their Igbo nation without any help from anybody. The Igbos understand economy and they are good in building something from nothing. And that is why you see an Igbo man travel a far land with just a bag containing only his clothes to shield him from cold and in the next 5 - 10 years, he has become an owner of businesses and properties. It is in their gene. I am not so sure that any unpolitical Igbo man is complaining about the sit-at-home.

I won't join words with you Sir. All I'd like to reiterate is that having spoken to people at the grassroots (unlike you who I'm pretty sure hasn't been in the SE since this year), I stand by my assertion that the majority of Igbos in the SE have varying degrees of sympathy for the plight of MNK and think (right or wrong) that they owe him this sacrifice.
My point was that it is left for Ohanaeze to attack that mindset if they think it is a wrong one.

Ohanaeze ndi oshi. For one day sit at home business is crumbling. Dont worry the five days own is coming. I thought you are the apex social cultural group, why asking IPOB to stop the sit at home?. Why not stop it yourselves. This shows who holds the power and who the people are with.

The sit at home had been cancelled by IPOB, a long time ago, what is happening now is fear of the unknown, because those who ate terrorising south east are now using it to kill igbos in other to blame Nnamdi Kalu and ESN, ask the DSS they will yell you the truth, you can even see the truth from the amended Malami charges , igbos are not fools, they know those killing them are not ESN, very soon the chips will be down, ICC will be given the evidence of genocide

Everyday, Ohanaeze Ndigbo releases statements.
Everyday.
Is anything of this nature solved by talking to the press?
What's wrong with going from community to community sensitising the people they claim to lead on why they feel IPoB's directives are not to be followed? Regardless of popular opinions (by people not even in the South East), majority of people in the South East do not obey the sit at home directives because of the threat of violence. They obey because they are sympathetic to IPoB and especially MNK's plight.

If Ohanaeze wants to change the mindset of the people, they know what to do.
