Those factors shouldn't be the criteria for denying Nigerians Visa. Meanwhile, most of the indians don't return as well. With ambiguous reasons, AHO3849 will gladly refuse Nigerians
Learner247:

Approval rate for applicants from Nigeria is below 12%.
Applicants from countries with challenging economic, security and political situation have very slim chances of getting accepted. They are more likely to stay back after their studies. I mean, how many Nigerians have returned after their UG or PG education in Canada?

You can get a conditional admission letter with your unofficial transcript. However, to get the full admission letter, you need to upload your proof of graduation. If you have that already, I believe you should get your unconditional admission letter.

Hi ifeolu234,
Are u going for a graduate program in mun? Pls I want to find out if unconditional admission letter can be issued before I send my official transcript?

On finance,

the program is a fully funded PhD covering tuition and allowances including research assistantship. We added his personal bank statements as well. The only lump deposit that came from his sister was backed with gift deed and letter of support. We as well showed proof of relationship

Purpose of visit...
We explained that as well. He just finished his masters this July and going immediately for a PhD in the same course.

Immigration status
He is legally in China as he has continued with a PhD program in his school. Visa has been renewed and we attached passport pages and police clearance certificate.

We dont know what else IRCC wants.

Hi, what did write as his source of funding in the IRCC form? As a single applicant with full scholarship from Canada, your best choice is "University of .... scholarship".

About the PhD in China, it is no problem if you explain why you need to abandon it. A good reason might be that Nigeria education is westernized and English focused rather than Chinese. If you want to practice in Nigeria, a PhD in Canada, US, and UK will be more recognized than Chinese PhD. Then explain why Canada from other options. You got a full scholarship, a professor interested and with experience in your research, and other reasons are good. You will definitely need to build on/explain these points if you want to use it.

All the best.

Please, which sections of the attached consent form should an applicant sign?

Definitely! There'll be lots of dummies there but the brilliant ones just have cream-of-the-crop academic records. Especially in medicine, pharmacy and engineering. They dominate tutorial videos on YouTube. They ace licensing exams abroad.

Hey, please did you go for your medical based on an appointment or you just paid at the bank and came for it. I’m asking because the website shows no available date till next year.

Kankanio:

I would advise you get there by 5:00AM.

I went a day before and the security personnel told me I should try and get to the venue by 6:00AM. I got there at 5:30AM and 2 people were there already. Be there at 5:00AM if you can so you can be among the 1st set of people. They started at 7:30AM but there were over a hundred people by then.

I finished at 1:30 PM just so you know.

My permit wasn’t stamped that I can work or some sort of sort and I got my sin with no issues at all.

Abi I got the wrong permit? Because everyone knows students are entitled to 20 hours per week
Luckymama:
Hi all,
Just wanted to chip in a few updates. When I was active on this thread around 2019-2020 I was always on the lookout for people who can give information from the other side. Having information about how things actually go on once within Canada helps with planning.

1. If possible, please apply for at least a 2 year program. I assume most people here are planning to get a work permit afterwards and from there get to apply for PR. It's not that easy. Getting a job after graduation is not so straightforward. And for a lot of provinces, you need to work for 1 year before you can apply for PR based on work experience or Canadian Experience Class. So if you graduate and it takes 3 - 6 months post graduation to get a job (best case scenario), your one year work permit would have expired before you can apply for P.R. Besides most employers don't like to employ people who do not have long-term work permits.

For those planning to travel soon

1. Nothing you buy in Nigeria can handle Canadian winter grin. Don't spend a fortune on 'winter clothes'. Just buy the little you will wear from the airport to your homes or for the first few days you land until friends and/or your hosts can help you buy appropriate clothes.

2. Please do not leave the airport without it being specifically written on your study permit that you are entitled to work part time (20 hours) during the term and full time in summer. No matter what the border officials say, insist on the endorsement. I made that mistake when I landed in June - she told me it doesn't matter and everybody knows that students can work. Turns out it's not true. You can't work without a SIN and no one will give you a SIN (Social Insurance Number) unless your student permit says you can work. I have been trying to get my student permit amended since June till now. No response. So please stand your ground at the border and insist.

Hi,

Anyone with information about flying Royal Air Maroc to Canada in the next month or so? Just to reconfirm whether the temporary ban is now lifted or not. It is the cheapest and even total flight time competes well with other "better" airlines. Any tips or cautions about doing this?

Thanks.
They only fly to Montreal. You can confirm by sending a DM to them on Twitter if they've added other Canada destination to their itineraries

Hi, I had my medicals done about two weeks ago, still haven’t heard from IRCC but I was told by iom on Friday that it was just submitted on Friday. I’m hopeful for a positive response, in the spirit of waiting I’ll like to confirm if I have to pay the transmission fee(8,900) to Abuja when it’s time to have my passport sent even though I did my biometrics in Abuja or I just have to go to any courier service in Lagos and pay the courier service charge only since I’m not in Abuja, I only did my biometrics in Abuja because I was there at the time but I reside in Lagos.

Since u did ur biometric in Abuja u don't need to pay 8920 again. The money is for those that did their biometric in Lagos and want to send their passport to Abuja

Good morning all...

I am new on this thread,
I applaud all the good works of kind selfless ppl on this thread and it's previous.
I have seen so many testimonies and I pray to get mine soon.

Pls I would like gurus in the house to suggest schools I can apply for full sponsored PhD scholarship in "water resources and environmental engineering".

My masters is in water resources and environmental engineering with excellent PhD
grade...

But my first degree is in civil engineering with a poor 2.2 (my major concern and fear of obtaining a full sponsored scholarship).

My plan is is to be able to prepare and meet up for the 2022/2023 academic session.

I just need councels generally...

My desired country of study is Canada, nonetheless any other reasonable locations are welcomed...
Thank you upfront.
Hi

Google can help you with that , or better still visit Universitystudy dot ca , and use the search box, you will find PHD in Civil Engineering Programs there.

Endeavor to read posts in the link below,

and this

and apply it to your own Research focus (water resources and environmental engineering)
and Area of Study (Civil engineering)

USA as well is a good place to get FULLY-FUNDED GRADUATE OPPORTUNITIES. Go to the Naira6 USA visa thread, and make enquiries

Hello AOROGBEM

Were these documents requested for by IRCC?

Or did you see it in your GCMS notes that the Visa Office is having issues with any of these documents?

Or have you been approved and you wanna send your LOA so that your Visa will have a favourable duration as regards your new LOA?

If your answer is NO to any of these questions, I won't advise you to send them any document they have not requested for, cos sending them these documents doesn't mean you will be approved...

But them requesting for these documents shows your application is on the route of approval...

Peace

I do not think you need to worry yourself about that.
Once you apply for a Canadian Visa be it study or Express entry, you must do Medicals in any of the IRCC recommended Clinics which are IOM and Qlife.. These clinics are in Lagos and IOM is also in Abuja..

The result of your Medicals is sent to IRCC by these Clinics and you as an applicant can also submit the E-medical slip given you in the clinic to IRCC via Webform and Emails..

Below are what they will test you for during your Medicals,
General physical checks for eyes, nose, heart, lungs, and others, chest X-rays,
blood tests for HIV and Syphilis,
urine tests

Peace

My understanding is that one can extend a 1 year study permit to 2 years, by pursuing another program. Thereafter, qualify for 3 years PGWP. Or has that changed? I mean the study permit extension part?

If you do your calculation well, you will recoup the cost of your one way ticket by the time you purchase your PTA

Teeprecious:
Hello house, please what is the best or cheaper means of moving funds abroad?
Like how do we move our remaining naira in our accounts to Canada. Tried to even calculate how reasonable it is to purchase a return ticket to access pta but the cost of one way ticket is alarming not to talk of a return ticket.
Someone with more knowledge on this should please assist.
