Eyah! It's really been long I went to the market by myself sha and the high changes in price baffled me. Didn't know I was even lucky.

I can't speak for other cultures, but according to Yoruba culture which I'm more familiar with, placenta in itself is not regarded as a good thing. In fact it's expected to be buried the very day a child is birthed. This is to ensure the child doesn’t encounter misfortune/evil when he grows. When a child is wayward as he grows , some elders allude it’s because his or placenta was not properly disposed of at birth.

I once read in Newspaper of some Asians who eat placenta and they claim its proteinous . Some even claim it is capable of healing ailments like Asthma and the likes.

As for me ehn, any protein that is not from cow meat, goat meat, chicken , fish , and egg is a NO for me .
