They are quick to compare cost of education but will never compare minimum wage in relation to other countries.

Any doctor, engineer, banker, etc hat wants to work abroad should school abroad. Simple. You can't take our cheap education to go and work abroad.
If you are not comfortable with the policy, you can as well drop out of the school and create space for those who want to serve thier FATHERLAND.

Okay... Let's for the sake of argument assume he has said something meaningful.

However, is training doctors and health workers for "Free" the reason why you have woefully failed to provide proper working conditions for health workers??!
Is that why you have failed to invest and upgrade this nation's health sector to international standards??!
Is the "Free" training enough excuse to allow the nation's hospitals fall into ruins??!
Is that why the health sector is so bad that every political appointee including this clown travels abroad for even the most minor of maladies??!

Let's start from these simple and pertinent questions!!!

I partly agree.

This is not just about Doctors but all professionals in Nigeria.

We are mostly trained for "free" in Nigeria, then owing to the poor renumeration in the country, many who are already gainfully employed here resign to go take up job offers abroad, without having to take student loans like their peers abroad who are still paying back from salaries.

We just earn the same salary as them in their country, and have no student loan to worry about.

Very correct.

This is akin to the OKOROS that are earning a living in the North but will cowardly always come online to spew trash/fallacies about tge North.

I am resisting the urge to insult you right now but let me just say this.

Serving your fatherland isn't slavery, pay doctors and they won't leave, it is that simple.

If all the doctors leave who do you think will suffer, us or them?

These foolish politicians run abroad whenever they get simple ear ache while poverty stricken supporters on nairaland will support them when they don't even have a primary health care center in their local government.

Stop thinking like a primary school child.

Throwback:

You just wrote a wall of nonsense.

Will you work for 6 months without salary?

My tuition cost millions and you want me to work for uncertain chicken change.

Who do you think will suffer if all the professionals leave because idiots want to force them to work in a broken system?

I know how much medical students in Nigeria spend both in public and private institutions, especially on books, clinicals and exams. I hope your daughter rots in Nigeria since she's a medical doctor too

Obviously, he doesn't have any relative who is a doctor. By Nigerian economic standard, studying medicine in Nigeria is extremely expensive

This is the right way to go.

As far as Nigeria is concerned, there is no tuition fee when for all Federal Universities.
Many Doctors know what it takes to become a doctor abroad. Many of them pay students loan years after graduation. Aside that, you have to be recommended by a professor after your fist degree in order to gain admission to study Medicine.

Nigeria system is the cheapest, yet they are well trained. Reason Nigerian Trained Doc. are "hot cake" abroad.

Government needs to do more in terms of remunerations for Doctors, but the truth is Nigeria can't pay the same amount they are being paid abroad.

If you know you want to practice abroad, get trained there.
