Pray not to encounter them. Even after a year, you will be feeling very violated and angry. Whenever you remember it, you would fight back tears. No jokes.

Some people deserve it because Lagosians are very stubborn. They drive oneway and disregard traffic lights.

But what of their attitude of setting trap for people? Removing one way and no U-turn signs. They have even advanced to buying traveling boxes and standing where drivers can’t stop to book Uber rides. Any driver that makes the mistake of stopping there to pick them ehn…grin

The buying of traveling box off me. Haaa wicked people!!!

Funny enough, i mistakenly ran into VIO officers last week in Ojodu berger (Odozi street where they hide just before the bend towards berger market) and i couldn't reverse or run away, i practically ran into their trap. They checked my car papers which was up to date and my driving licence which was equally up to date, i was wearing my seat belt, everything was in place, i didn't panic, i just slowed down when they stopped me and after all these checks, they allowed me to go... was surprised, spent less than 5 minutes, but they can be terrible as i heard, maybe i was lucky or maybe i had nothing to fear as my particulars were ok.

police is your friend.

As a road safety officer though stationed in the HQ, i must confess, VIO dey do pass us. I almost killed one with my car when i told him am a fellow uniform personnel and he still stood in front of my car. After all the chaos, showed him my i.d card he let me go cajoling me with “oga sir“ i promised him that next time i will run him down and make a reverse to climb him again to be sure he is dead, then i report at the nearest police station. Till today, they marked my cars color and number plate and they never flag me down. A bit of cheering news for those who despise road safety, even though you have to drive safely, soonest, you may never have to pay bribe to any of our officers again as our men now carry body cameras to provide real time activities of their transactions with you.

The good thing about VIO is that ones your vehicle papers and driver's license are up-to-date you don't have a problem with them.

All these complaining either don't have valid papers or have open defects on their cars

VIOs are meant to stay in their offices. Issue Road worthiness. They don't have business on the Road..these men will see Danfo with Nothing aside a rickety engine and will allow him go or tanker Drivers. (I NO SURE SAY THOSE ONES DEY GET DOCUMENT).
But you see car u want to flex muscle. Road safety check paper, lastma check paper, Police check paper , very soon Neighbourhood watch will be checking papers...

Does it help get past them ?

Nop, VIO are cool niggas, my documents are complete & also pasted that reg shyt on the upper side of the windscreen...They don't even bother to stop me.

But u see FRSC, they are the worst even worst than 9ja police. FRSC personnel find joy in wasting ur time with unnecessary questions even with ur seat belt buckled..valid license, fire extinguisher....one Mf even asked me for first aid kit. I always feel like hitting them on d road, but my conscience will never allow me

Lol. Them chop you. Road safety laws states fines for a shattered windscreen. Not for cracks!
As long as say na one or two cracks wey no impede visibility you no commit any offense.
I drive with a cracked windscreen presently, if any road safety stop me, I give am rule book.
If he insists on charging me, I tell him to hold on so I can call my lawyer.
The road safety guy wey I do am for Costain just tire for me grin grin
