JERUSALEMA by Master KG is one song I like very much even though I don't know what there are singing about.

There's also this song I heard mostly in my childhood called "La Bamba"... I don't know who sang it or what it means but the song always touches my soul.
Latin American songs always have a way of giving me "De'ja vu feelings", maybe I must have been from there in a previous incarnation.

No... I know who exactly Awilo is?

This song is from the 90's and it's a Latin American song.

I am not aware o!
grin

I was looking for the distinction between soukous and makossa /central congo and Cameroun folk songs.
I now ran into Awilo songs and papa Wemba!
I still don't understand the distinction between the two.
I also found out these styles of music are heavily influenced by Spanish Rumba as compared to french (as it was initially believed)
And so on and so forth

It is like investigating to the origins of rock only to find out it was invented by African American blacks!
Crazy

I am not here to talk about Pan-Africanism which is obviously fake, a white man can travel all around Africa but an African can't travel all around Africa, any song that is not from your country of origin is "foreign". Until the day when Africans can travel all around Africa without a visa then I would believe that an African can't be a foreigner in Africa.

That day could come soon but unfortunate it will take forever to come because of the self hatred we have within ourselves and many Africans with the mentality that if an African is not from their place that they’re a foreigner LOL. The same corrupt policies and government y’all hate and bash but at the same time follow their concepts and ideas, systems. Contradictions galore! I’m sure you wouldn’t consider these borders the actual FOREIGNERS came and drew around Africa, fake too. But let us kwontinue lol smh
