Hello nairalanders.

I will not call the name of my church for some reasons, but my church is that type that dosn't have a parmanent pastor.

So, we always have a new pastor almost every four or five years.

Recently, a new pastor was transfered to us, this my new pastor is very good when it comes to preaching the word of God, and things that helps in the development of a church.. infact, so many good things have been going 'on' in my church since his arrival.

But the problem is that, he is that kind of pastor with swag, He goes to beer parlour to drink, he can go to gathering to play draft, (imaging the kind of people u see in a beer parlour of draft gathering), and because of this things he does, some people (expecially other churches) use it against us the members..

People we be like, una pastor wey dey drink beer.. And we don't even know how we can deffend him or ourself when we are being attacked by these people..

We are currently loosing members on a daily basis, and i'm not happy with it.

Pastor is running his race make una run una own. Thaf he preach in the alter does not make him holier, he is just a teacher.

Perhaps you should take the church to the beer parlour.

I know Jesus was in a beer parlour with sinners preaching the gospel to them, though not drinking beer as your pastor, so perhaps that's the area he needs to change.

But I don't anything wrong with a pastor going to the beer parlour where the sinners are, if he goes there to preach the Gospel as Jesus did.

well said, in addition as far he doesn't act drunk, or feel stupor after drinking publicly. And again the Beer PARLOUR STUFF IS NOT APPRORIATE FOR A CLERGY. He can quietly enjoy BEERS IN HIS PRIVACY. DO IT AT HOME NOT IN THE PUBLIC. Your pastor na real guy man. Radical pastor, far better than those that uses church's treasury to buy private jets and luxuries.

Your pastor should live by example nah. Haba ! A man of his Calibre should not drink in the close by beer parlour nah. If he needs beer he should either buy it and drink it at home or go very far and drink it. Do you know that eating food outside in an occasion is not bad but there is a kind of level you will reach you won't dare eat again in public. He supposed to know that many pastors teach their followers to perceive that drinking alcohol is a sin. Please he should stop that habit not because it's a sin in my own view but because he is a leader

He knows the people he was called for, yes people who see themselves as sinners and people who are sinners and seen as such. Timothy never said anything to you. Instead Paul wrote that letter to Timothy with that advise specifically for the eyes and ears of that young man alone.

But on a serious note, it is not okay for a preacher to do these things in the public. I think Paul addressed it somewhere in one of his epistles.

It doesn't have to be RCCG. na so dem dey change pastors for my church too.

Let the church authority call him to order according to the church doctrine, but if drinking is allowed in your church doctrine, then your pastor will fire on.

That's what the whole Romans chapter 14 is about but he was more specific in verse 21.

He called on Christians to consider the weakness of others before pursuing their own enjoyment.

Your allergence should be to the Lord not pastor, don't defend what is wrong only defend the gospel. The man should humbly resign if he can't raise the banner of Christ high in that territory.

He is a true christian, I don't know who is turning Christianity upside down and my people will never read their bible. From tithe to all aspect of today's Christianity it's been mixed up hence my calling it a mixed religion. Jesus drank and even acknowledged it in like 7, where He said John the Baptist didn't drink and he was called the devil but he drinks and they were calling him drunk. How do you follow Christ and still call Him drunk at this age and time, even after his dead? The answer is IGNORANCE.
