I couldn't vote. I wanted to vote Jonathan. I stood in long queues for hours for several days trying to get my PVC. I still couldn't. Many people didn't get theirs. Meanwhile small northern boys who do scrap metal business near my place were receiving calls from their friends and relatives in the North to come and collect their PVC's which the said relatives have collected from INEC. I, a grown man, could not get mine in the South. In the North, small boys were being begged to collect theirs. INEC officers went from house to house to deliver voters card to people, including relatives of actual owners of the cards in the north. Prof Jega dealt with the south. He disenfranchised us and gave Mr Buhari victory

Your personal claims are yours but they are disconnected from your conclusions.

If Jega 'dealt' with the South in 2015, why did he not 'deal' with the South only in 2011. why only in 2015?

In 2011 the same Jega presided over an election in which the Northerners voted the same way .

Guess what ? The Northern 'winner' lost! Even with their small children voting, they still lost.
Therefore your claims (that Jega caused Buhari to win) are untrue.

GEJ lost the elections due to the SW not voting for him in 2015 as they did in 2011. The rest of the country voted in almost the same pattern between the 2 years.

My point is: The North cannot win Presidential elections alone. No single tribe can in Nigeria.

Thanks.

See you lie lie face like LAI MOHAMMED own.
You give your wife 62.5% of your monthly salary and you are left with 37.5%.

So it is out of the 37.5% that you have been paying children school fees, possibly send maintenance to your parents and siblings and even her own parents and relatives sometimes.

Oga, go sidon say this story na lie, make we no even waste time dey analyze. Gas is expensive at this time within Port Harcourt cos I have my own experience too, if her Mother in the village doesn't use stove then I am moved to say she was the one who married you. Again, if this story is true, you sure say she sabi cook?

You are funny sir. You can't fathom how a man will set aside 62.5% of his monthly income for house keeping alone. Your error lies in the fact that you assume all Nigerians earn huge salaries. No, we all don't.

Let me create a scenario for you. Imagine you had a good job 16 years ago. You worked in the pharmaceutical marketing industry. You earned decent salary. You also had a legitimate way to make extra income while in the field. You had an official car. You met a beautiful young lady in one church program. One thing led to another and 3 years later you two were married.

Less than 2 months after, you realize you have made the greatest mistake of your life. You realize that the person you thought you knew is totally different from the person now living in your house as your wife. Within the first few months of the marriage she ran away a number of times from your house for several days. The marriage almost ended even before the end of the first year of the marriage. The reasons were so flimsy. In fact on one occasion she said she's done with the marriage because I gave my little cousin a small phone of 4k without telling. Note that she was in school then in the North and I was in a city in the South East. I visited my uncle (who mostly trained me in the Uni). His last daughter lost her phone. I just reached out and gave her my second phone after removing my sim. About an hour later my wife called me on that line but couldn't reach me. She later called on my main line. I told I gave my cousin my 4k phone. She was so angry she said she's no longer marrying.

Today I seriously regret not insisting on ending the marriage as she wanted it.

I can go on and on. Catalog of woes for these 15 years. There were some (though few moments) of happiness. That's why we have 3 children.

When Buhari came to power, my company downsized. I was redeployed to where I couldn't work because it will involve telling lies everyday literally. I had some side hustle then. I decided to resign instead of positioning myself for life of lies.
Perhaps that was a mistake. I tried but couldn't get another job. Either the companies needed younger persons or the needed some with MBA in marketing. Both conditions were not in my favour. I only have B.Pharm. I also lost a lot of money on forex trading. I was compelled to take up employment as a superintendent pharmacist in a Community Pharmacy. Ask any pharmacist you know how much community pharmacists who are not owners of the business earn.

You ask how I pay rent and school fees? As a Superintendent Pharmacist I get paid a reasonable amount every January when I preregister the Pharmacy and renew the operational license. This amount takes care of schools for 2nd term and rent. First term and third term schools fees are always a struggle. But God has been faithful, working a number of miracles for us including using family members to help. This is how I have been managing for about 6 years now. My goal is to set up my own Pharmacy early next year. I have been able to get some people to commit to financing it.

I don't have to tell you all these but I am in the mood to write today. Besides it helps to ease the pain the heart.

Everything I wrote earlier is the truth. Forgive the typo errors. I was walking to the Pharmacy where I work when I modified the message and typed the second part of the write. Hence the errors

Can we all focus on the op's problem and challenges with his wife and leave politics, religion and tribe out of it?

Even op sef don leave house matter join another talk. Marriage of 15 years, you want to spoil because of gas?

OP calm down. Just relax, refresh and discuss with your wife. No one on Nairaland can do that for you.

The gas finished yesterday. I told my wife that yesterday that I will buy the gas today because I needed to get to work and somehow raise money to augment what I have to be able to buy the gas. I told her to use the kerosene stove that yesterday and this morning. Guess her reply? She said she can't use kerosene even for a day. That even her Mum in the village does not use kerosene stove. She said a few other unprintable things.
For the sake of my 3 children I still had to buy the gas today.

I had not eaten in my house for a month now. The reason is that she said that they money I gave her for upkeep in October was not enough (I give her 62.5% of my monthly salary every month for our home upkeep). As a result she refused to give me food from around the middle of the month when she said the money had finished. She cooked for herself and the children (possibly from her own salary). When I gave her upkeep money for this month I told her not bother keeping food for me so that the money will go far enough. That's where we are till now. I have no intention of ever eating her food until she acknowledges that she was wrong and apologizes.

Now I know this WON'T happen. She will rather die than admit she's wrong or apologize. This is why I know that the mistake of a marriage is heading for the rocks and I am ready for it. Nonsense and ingredients. I have endured this nonsense for 15 years. I am done. Anything whe won happen tomorrow, make e happen today.[/s]

One thing people should know is you can buy any amount of gas you can afford…it mustn’t be the usual, you can even put 1kg gas in a 50kg bottle.

Buy what you can afford

This is not an excuse for Buhari regime but this thing will be with us for a very long time. Tight your belt because we are going on a roller coaster

Which world over? Do you live outside Nigeria?
If you do, is there any item where you live which price has increased more than 50% since January 2020? In most serious countries, price increases for most items are much less than 20%. Some are even around 5%.
In Nigeria on the other hand, prices of most things have doubled and tripled, and in some cases even quadrupled. That's a whopping 100-300% increase.
Is it not clear to you that it is more of a leadership problem?

Your wife lacks understanding. Communication and understanding are key to a successful marriage. Try to have a one on one talk with her, when your anger and hers cool down. Above all, be a man of prayer, ask God to go ahead of you to speak to her and grant her an understanding mind prior to your one on one talk with her.

One Nigeria is a huge setback for the southern regions.

Perhaps unknown to this man who wants to get done with his 15 years marriage, Buhari’s inept government created the background for his wife’s negative attitude to him. Women are the first victims during conditions of economic hardship.
