My Nairaland family,
Please help me for my daughter's case. We have done a lot, biopsy and six months constant medication and all yielded no results. All manner of traditional medicine have been prescribed. It has spread all over her body. I am emotionally drained. House please help me.

Looks like an advanced stage of lichen planus skin disorder...might b wrong tho...if it is,there's no cure,the good thing is that it goes on its own eventually..just medications(immunosuppressive) to reduce the itch and spread..I really pray its not.shed more light on doctors analysis,someone here might be of help with more info.

Aww, so sorry Mama . I can't even imagine how painful it must be for her and then for you, seeing her in such pain. Hurts.

We need some more background information. You said you've done a lot of biopsies? Are you just running tests for the pharmacist or have you guys actually seen a dermatology consultant? Like, not just any doctor, a dermatologist? Let's know where we can start helping.

To me, it's looking like a serious lichen planus problem, which is non-contagious and may be caused by Hepatitis c or some form of medication gone wrong. We can't be sure though.
Try to post the result of the biopsies or any other tests here, some medical experts may be able to offer further insight. How does it make her feel? Does it itch? Burn? Is there pus?

In the mean time, please have you considered that those traditional whatever you guys are rubbing on this girl may be the reason why it's spreading like this? Just look for a mild baby soap and any anti-inflammatory gel to soothe her pain, at least while you seek solutions.

Try homemade detoxification on her. Boil Ginger, garlic, turmeric, clove, and add a little honey let her drink.. If you can lay your hands on scent leaf and mint leaf, blend it and use it water to wash her legs every evening.

It's curable, but will require some persistent treatment that may be costly.
I know someone who had this condition, although on his legs alone, but he is fine now. He said he was always washing the legs with water mixed with izal after which he applied funbact A+, he was also taking a drug called ketoconazol or something like that. When it persisted, he was introduced to an injection which he took from 2014 to 2018, once every 3months I think.

Triamcinolone injection
Funbact A
Skinea (cream)

I pray she gets well.

I have a neighbor with the same similar skin issue.... It eventually went off on it own...

Where are you. Go meet Dr Daniel Emeruom of Wimpole Clinic Aba 87 St Michaels road Aba. He's a professor dermatologist , he treated such before . He comes only on Thursdays and Tuesdays. 89 years old doctor so he probably have seen worse case before . Go and see him I believe God will help you through him . Thanks
