[quote author=adeheritage post=107772956]Hello Everyone,

I have read up some comments here but will really appreciate some guidance as to how to navigate the rest of the process...

Some weeks ago, I got a Ph.D. admission, it was recently followed by a GTA interview,

some days ago, I got an email that I have been selected; tuition waiver + $ 1,995 monthly stipends.

However, my spouse and two kids are supposed to accompany me.

what range amounts (In Naira) should I show in the statement of account to avoid glitches?

what vaccinations are we supposed to get?

any other information, I will really appreciate.
Thanks in anticipation

[/quote. You will request for I-20 for your spouse and children from your school , if possible along with yours. The I-20 will show the exact amount that is needed. Sometimes it is better you travel first and your family joins you latter. But if you can defend every questions smartly and with confident you can go ahead with your family. What you need now is the 1-20 in order to shchedule your interview first before vaccination. With God nothing is impossible. Best of luck.

So I went for my F1 visa interview today. I got the white paper but the VO told me she will be placing me on administrative processing until am able to ask my school to give me a new i20 with the TA I said they gave me in fall 2021.

But i think she didn't really hear me well. I told her i had a TA but couldn't continue due to the fact that I didn't get an early date.

Please what could this mean gurus?
You simply need to get an updated I-20 FOR the new session (maybe Spring 2022) with same T.A you got for FALL. Just contact your sch for that. And I hope that your sch will still offer you the same T.A they gave you for FALL. If not, you will need to present money that will cover your program for one year to get your VISA.

There was no mention of the TA on the i20. I have contacted the school but there hasn't been any response for now. Let me still hope that something nice comes up.

mojolajesu:
does the school input in the i20 that you have TA?

I think that has to be through the admission letter huh?

I recommend anyone going for spring or fall 2022 to search and apply to schools in Missouri. They have relatively low tuition and acceptance rate is high for both undergraduate and graduate studies. They even give out scholarship like breakfast... I made some research and I learnt the reason the tuition fees in the state is low is because the state is really poor, and the crime rate is high, this make even housing to be cheap. The goal is to get admission and japa, the crime rates shouldn't scare us na.

Lol I got one too. Did you get your visa approved already. Would love to talk better on that school if you don’t mind.

The TA was course based and I let her know that my mum is my sponsor for the program she even asked for statement of account which I gave then boom, "i am placing you on administrative Processing, you need to go back to the school and let them indicate how much funding they have for you as per this TA".

Meanwhile, I told her already that in the TA they didn't mention full tuition waiver I was only informed about stipend of 4899$ for the duration of the course (3 months).

I wonder why she is still insisting to have it on my i-20 when I had already told her that I deferred my admission and couldn't take up the TA since I couldn't find a date in Fall 2021.

Please someone should clarify, I paid for the study visa fee with Gtbank app, and I was able to use the transfer reference number on the online appointment portal before to see dates, I sent an email to Lagos surge email address on Thursday but yet to get a response m. I tried to book an appointment on the online portal again to request for emergency appointment and used the transfer reference again, it’s now saying “no valid records for this receipt number bla bla” did someone experience this? Or what does this mean? I’ve not yet gotten a date

You'd get a response for the surge dates within 3/5 Business days. You'd print out that email, take all other docs and go for your interview.

But they have not yet responded with a date. I only get an automated response of receipt of email and documents required, thankfully I sent the 5 documents required.
They'd reply.
You can also send a reminder after 3 Business days.
