Brothers, Lookman has 2G+A in 12 games for Leicester. Both goals came in the Carabao Cup.

Henry also has 2G+A in 13 games, but both came in the Europa League.

You are making it sound like Lookman is having a banner campaign while Onyekuru is an Olympiacos flop.

Lookman is not having the best of the season, and we all know they do rotate at Leicester and lookman is not playing all games there

Onuekuru is not having it well at Greece where he should be doing like a cr7 as he usually does ,so finally lookman is better for now ,you cannot compare the epl and the Greece league

Onyekuru has only 1 goal which came against slovan Bratislava and lookman 2 goals was against Brighton and millwall

Onyekuru has more games and more minutes than lookman but lookman has better stats ,onyekuru is yet to impress at Greece

Skills and technique are very different.

De Bryune and Bruno Fernandes have two of the best techniques in England, but they aren't so skillful.

Traore is one of the best dribblers in world football, but he lacks good technique.

Sadio Mane on the other hand has both good dribbling skills and technique.

They are very different attributes, brother.
Tell me what is technique so I can recognize it anywhere not players who have technique cos I hear that word so often and it was not in the football lingo ten years ago.

Sir, technique refers to the way a player receives, passes or shoots the ball. As well as the body posture when taking this action. (modified).
It's one of the very few attributes that never leaves a player even as they age.

Do you agree that technique also includes ball control skills, the ability to track back and defend and high pressing (for forwards,

Do you also agree that the ability to create goalscoring opportunities (creativity), and goalscoring itself are excluded from the definition of technique.

Please be patient with me, i really want to get your stand with the definition.

Boss Joe times have changed. Clemens could afford to look inwards because we didn't have too many players doing it in Europe at the time.

Developing local talents takes time a luxury national team coaches don't have. Even Keshi that tried it how many were the back bone of his team? Oboabona (who immediately went to Europe) and Sunday Mba who had an indian summer for us at the 2013 AFCON.

talent development, scouting and training is something that our local teams should handle ordinarily. You don't need super powers of observation to scout local play grounds, street tournaments and the likes to find hidden gems it's the polishing of these gems to such a state to get the attention of national team coaches that's usually the problem.

I dare say the local coaching and scouting of talent during Westerhof's time was way better in comparison to today because the scouts were good at finding such talents plus the coaching was decent so players of natural ability were quite many in the league. So of course Clemens could pick these guys because a lot of Nigerian coaches had already done the hardwork of cleaning up those players a bit.

To solve our issues today the type of mentality our coaches have has to change. Emphasis should be placed on identifying technically skilled youngsters not just power and pace. Grassroots need serious funding to properly nurture talents. Place quota system on NPFL club side to have between 5-7 academy players be part of their squads this will push them to focus on catching and developing young talents in their locality.

The question, before all these, what should we do? Fold arms and wait for the local teams and coaches to get it right?

That will be wasting precious time.

I pointed out how Siasia did it. He opened his camp two weeks earlier than normal and held a camping session for the home-based lads for two weeks before the arrival of foreign pros.

In that camping session, Siasia pointed out how much these players lack basic tactical knowledge. He even explained that when they got into the training game and many of them had forgotten a lot he taught them.

Running these kind of sessions for some years will benefit the players and the league for a while.

An idea hit me when I saw Amunike training local coaches in modern football practices and strategies. I thought of our Super Eagles coach developing a working scouting frame work for coaches from the local leagues to academies. A kind of train the trainer program to help them spot gems.

What I am saying is that there are steps to take than saying the National team coach should fold arms during breaks, watching European games and drafting lists.

I don't know why we are so obsessed with the AM role in Nigeria.
The primary attribute of an attacking midfielder is technique which is why strikers like Lacazette, Muller, Firmino, Kane and Iheanacho can perfectly slot in there. But Lukaku, Osimhen, Aubameyang cannot survive there.
Dennis is a star play, but even in his wonder performance yesterday, you could see he lacks technique. Same thing with Ejuke.
Why turn a top player who can excel anywhere across the frontline (LWF, CF, RWF), into a poor attacking midfielder?
I agree with you. I look at Westham who play a 4-2-3-1 I don't believe they have an AM but have two solid dms/cms which we also have. This may be a good system for us looking at our personnel.

When Siasia did it we had money whether we like it or not finance is a major issue. What you're suggesting no matter how laudable is still a case of treating the symptoms not providing the cure. So now you will be hiring national team coaches to be opening camps just because local coaches or club sides are not doing their jobs? No it won't work we need the whole system to work in tandem not one person doing everything when he's not God.

NFF need to tell our club sides the home truth it's only then that senior national team coaches will look your way. No serious coach has time to be bringing groups of green horns on a monthly basis to be teaching how to control ball, position or nodding the ball. I'm planning for an international match that can make or mar my tenure but I'm be wasting my time opening camp that won't serve any realistic purpose instead of scouting my opponents and perfecting tactics for them.

That is why the national team can be used as an opportunity to help in the search and development of hidden special talents. Westerhof went as far as watching amature tournaments in different areas of Nigeria.

Remember a 16 years old Amokachi called up to the National team and became a gem to Nigerian football.

Because Westerhoff understood the challenges of the local scene but had a sincere belief in the potential of Nigerian football, he was able to keep searching for talents.

As long as things are so bad in local football, the footballers need all the help they can get. In the long run, it will benefit us massively.
I may not 100% support but I see reason with you. Even if the SE coach won't include the home based guys in his team, nothing stops him from taking an active role with the CHAN eagles and even the WAFU team. Siasia worked with the HB eagles and we got Ahmed Musa, Siasia trusted Etebo and gave him a chance and he is where he is today (they can call him a carpenter if they like). I am not even mentioning Keshi as they said his gains were temporary, thankfully at least some gains were made albeit temporary.

Emmanuel Dennis showings in the Premier league is just proof that players can plateau at lower leagues because they lose motivation to perform there.

Labelled egoistic and lazy in Germany and Belgium, yet I've seen very few forwards with his work rate or desire.

If we are to play 4-4-2, Osimhen should play the SS, while the Iheanacho the CF.

But the fact on ground is that we don't have the midfield that a 4-4-2 requires.
Only Aribo can fit in on the right and maybe Ejuke on the left.

Consider the image below.
Iheanacho should be benched henceforth in the super eagles. He has been lethargic and having this feeling he has arrived. If he doesn't sit up let another player take his place. That's what competition for space does to a player.

Same go to Iwobi and others who feel they have arrived.

That should normally be our 8 attacking option to the AFCON...
I have not been sold on Onuachu. Onuachu hasn't really really been convincing in the GWG, he's a great forward no doubt but he's always lost playing for us.

At Genk he's a machine, but at home he's just a puppet. I really want him to improve and I feel he will

Dude don't say this man. Don't.
Has onuachu been giving play time for SE ?
Even coming off the bench late against cape Verde he still slotted the ball past their goalkeeper unfortunately he was ruled offside on a day the SE found it difficult to maintain clinicality in front of goal.

If the later is your denotation, how do you describe a poor technique?

Thank you sir, i just want to clearly understand the parameter you harnessed for your list of AM's.
