You are very right.
Knowing the data types and analysis types is very important...that should actually be the first goal and this can be learned in a day or two, I believe. It's not something that would or should delay one from still starting in Excel, because in there, one gets to see the various data types at play.
The analysis types become more understandable when/if anyone takes Statistics (at least begin by understanding the philosophy).

If you have data, go to Coursera and enroll for Google data analysis professional certification. If you are as rich as I am, apply for financial aid.

cheesy cheesy Yes, yes, yes! No one should let finances stop them from learning and they do help out a lot with financial aid.
I also believe that course/certification would be very nice for anyone who looks into it. Google has done a lot of work to simplify virtually the whole data analysis process. They have put together a fine blend of soft and hard skills that are in demand.

So Google has a Data Analysis certification? Interesting! I'll definitely check it out.

Combining preparation for DA100 exam and work has been tasking.

And yes, I think there's so much buzz about learning the stacks than actually knowing some of the concepts behind them which are equally if not more important.

Dbt is a great ETL tool. One of the best for the pricing it offers.
Looker on the other hand is also a great tool but it doesnt fascinate me personally.
Dbt is also gaining popularity and so many coys are using it as we speak.

I believe both.. They simplify the ETL process or rather with dbt its called ELT.

Airflow is giving me tough time.. I'm not really interested in data engineering at the moment

To butress your point, @ Gidicars,
@Kaymax222 can go through the thread and see that excel, PBI, SQL, Tableau, Python are the most frequent tools & languages to learn.

If s/he is brand new to any of these, then I would personally suggest the following route:
Excel - SQL - PBI - Tableau - Python.

Hi bro, I sent you a message. Kindly respond. Thanks

My reason for this is that excel is the "mothership" of all, if not most of these data viz/spreadsheet tools (including google spreadsheet).
Having a good grasp of excel will ensure smooth sailing in PBI and Tableau.
SQL should be next or in tandem with excel because then one can see the similarities and differences with respect to how both of them deal with data cleaning through their functions.

Python should be after one is proficient to a certain degree in the 4 prior tools (in my opinion).

@Kaymax222 can go to the following link to download the workbook tutorial which takes one through some very important excel formulas.

I hope this helps.

Thanks to you all for the insight.

good evening boss I appreciate your response back to me. I am a newbie.. I don't have any first hand knowledge I the feed and I prefer video also I have a phone and a laptop too. Pls help.

Yea, like movado19 said, excel isn't a bad place to start. But don't dwell on it much. If you have enough data & you use telegram, search up udemy free courses . on telegram. The channel has about 100K users. I have more 50 premium courses on udemy. I have more than 3 premium Power bI courses alone.

We had a computer in the house growing up, so using Microsoft office suite wasn't a big deal for me. During my siwes, the company I worked for used excel heavily for most of their works. I had no pproblem working cause I already knew the basics. I believe tjings like that are part of those things the averega learned person is suppose to know. You don't really need to have in-depth knowledge about it, just know the basics.

I have been an active follower of this thread, after few starting to learn on and off, the Sidehustle internship with data Analytics track has made me focused and serious now. Moving gradually from Excel - PowerBI and hoping to move along to SQL and then python. This thread is a good motivation, thanks to the Op and others that have shared their story
