Even my dad that was born in a village in Ogun state didnt know his date of birth. He just chose a random day and month and used 2 different years 1938/1942 depending on what he was providing the DOB for.

I think be arrived at the years based on stories of events he was told happened around the time he was born.

Exactly. Even as exposed as obj is, he doesn't know his date of birth. At the time when other parts of the world were vast in education, Africa was like a jungle. I'm so glad that, despite the delay in bringing education to us, we were able to adjust quickly

My in-law’s grandma died at the age of 120. Go to Edo state and delta state, people live past 140 . I pray for long life but at least 100 is enough for me....mbok

I attended the burial of a man who was 146 years old before he died in 2015. I have seen obituaries of people above 130.
