aloskyyoung:Sometimes people need to understand that Uk visa application over look finance when they can see clearly that you are well travelled and you have been given Uk visa before plus you come back at the right time and never overstayed . Why do you think questions like how many times you have been to Uk in the last 10 years and how many days did you stay in the uk is on the application form ? Or even questions about your past travel ? Don’t you know UK officials know about the tricky Nigeria play on them anytime they want to travel ( some people start paying themselves consistent salaries that make it look like they are financial capable and they won’t do even make it look like cash lodgement etc) There is no tricky you want to play on them that they don’t know about . Why do you think USA embassy don’t even want to see your financial document/ statement anytime you go for USA interview ? I have been following this thread and I see a lot of wrong information and perception flying around here all time Yes I got my last Uk visa with 1000 naira as my balance so calm down and stop misleading people with your thought process on how visa is issued here Your financial stability only contributes to 25 percent of it and they have a clear rubrics judging model to judge all visa candidate and there is a particular percentage you must pass before your visa can be issued |

I know it’s possible for U.S visa because they don’t even look at your financial statements during the interview. But for U.K??! I don’t think so You might have had 1k in your bank account but I’m sure you also backed it up with investments e.g Shares, Mutual Funds, Treasury bills or any other form of investment that would prove that you won’t be a liability to the UK government when you go there because they are VERY particular about foreigners not coming in and starting to seek public funds from the government. So I think you’re not giving us the full gist. Yes, maybe you had N1k in your account but I’m sure you also had other investments. byrees: |

Good morning all. Please my mom's TLS appointment is next week Tuesday. I want to print my statement on Saturday because my salary is coming tomorrow. My husband and myself are sponsoring her trip. We created an email for her to submit the application. So it's more like she filled it herself. My question is: how do we go about cover letter for eco. Do we (sponsors) need to do the cover letter or should we do it as though it is my mom addressing it to eco about her visit? We have pictures to support that she is a farmer although her earnings doesn't reflect on her account statement....is she the one to describe her account statement and describe the pictures to be attached? How do we come in as sponsors.. Please I need help |

Since you and your husband are sponsoring her, you guys would be the one to write the letter of sponsorship. Specify in the letter if you are sponsoring her whole trip 100% (flight, accommodation, feeding and other miscellaneous) or if part of the trip for the period of her stay between so and so date. Also state the purpose of her trip and where she would be staying. In addition, provide a brief of what you do or where you work and include where the fund will be coming from. Salary, investment, savings etc stating the specific account statements. In the letter, you could state what other documents you have attached as financial proof and also proof of family ties as applicable. Hope this helps. Nnemomatina: |

I've been approved for a visa with less than 50k balance. I was planning to use my yearly bonus for my trip but payment was delayed as at time of application. I applied with the documents showing the expected amount, the internal email explaining the delay and when it would be paid. Chances are extremely high that you when you reapply you would get a visa but I agree that your current circumstances matter. If I was no longer employed as at time of renewal with that 50k balance, I probably won't have been granted that visa. aloskyyoung: |

I think I’m tilting to byrees’s side of argument just “a bit” I know how I sloppily fill my visa forms and I still get it renewed. I have used bank statements I got 4/5 weeks prior to visa application to apply for renewal. My friend has used total balance less than 1 million for his family of three and he got visa. I think there’s some kind of waiver they give old time applicants also I’ve seen old time applicants get refused over one flimsy thing they omitted. In all I’ll say it depends on the ECO handling the file. |

You can reapply anytime. But make sure, you sort out the issues of your refusals in your new application. If not, you will still be denied. I reapplied even before I got my passport back. I did biometrics, 2 days after I collected my passport. Good luck. Soft42k: |

There is no wrong information and perception here. People give answers based on their experiences and the experiences of others they have seen. What works for A will not work for B. Someone else will not get their visa with 1000 in their account. You never know what goes on in the mind of the ECO that will access your application. He/She could be having a bad day, happy day, be stressed, or relaxed. Your financial stability contributes to upto 90% of the decison. byrees: |
