Mine happened in a very wicked way and it still gives me a serious phobia of leaving money in my account... Some weeks back,I hard to go for a concert in Festac.And as a guest minister,I took my singers and instrumentalists with me...We got there and did our thing. Towards the end of the program,I just felt like checking my account balance cos the cash I had on me wasn't enough to take us home.Can you believe that my account was empty!!!...I nearly ran mad cos the money was sent by the organizers to assist us with tfare to and fro the venue.....Ah,I was just thinking of how we should start the trekking back home (Atbara,and some stay at badagry)can you believe that??!??

It doesn't mean it will always work out, the most important thing is to make a try to change things.

I have done that before against a firm single-handedly when all my guys refused to join me for fear of the unknown. few weeks to the ruling the company came begging for out of court proceedings in addition to bearing the liabilities of the litigation. I was paid plus damages while the other guys who refused to join the party had nothing till this second. Our problem in this country is that most of us don't want to be the agent of change by making sure there is a precedence to change the ills happening all around us.

I have a firm that I am planning to take legal actions against because of non payment of salaries for months.
I will like to know how much this can cost me and if the case can be resolved within a month or two.

It worked before he tried...you can't decide not to do anything and say it will not work, if everybody that is treated unjustly fights for their right eventually the problem will be too much for these institutions to handle and they start doing more to protect their customers.

The case cant be resolved within this time period, Nigerian justice delivery is very slow. Within a year a probable estimate through the National Industrial. Documentary evidence of infringement to labour laws as well as the pension act is also needed to make your case go smoothly and in your favour. In my case firm had to call for out of court settlement when they saw outright defeat as proceedings went forward, fortunately, they paid my legal fees expended which was a win-win situation for me before I withdraw the case after payment was activated. I can't really say it depends on many factors, the legal adviser might agree to collect a specific amount to pursue the matter in court and then take a percentage from your judgement(That's if you are financially disadvantaged to further push the matter ) while some take their consulting fees as a whole from the beginning. You can also enter into specific terms with the counsel. it's really unfortunate that Nigerian firms don't really obey the stature laws involving employer-employee relations, really bad. Consult a lawyer and Goodluck.
