Why would you want to leave Ogun State and go to Niger State that is more or less a dead zone?

Well, if you read only social media, youllbe tempted to think an entire state is not safe.

Niger state is the biggest state in Nigeria. The size of Niger state is bigger than the entire SE states combined, so, when you read that there are BH elements in Niger state, know that it's as far away from the city centre as possible. In fact, we also read all of these on social media and TV like everyone of you.

Minna is safe. Minna is very safe. So, if your job entails staying in Minna only, no problem. But if it entails traveling across vast lands and local governments, I'll advise you to turn it down. I live here and have been for a while, but even I won't travel to some local governments.

But then I don't even see the sense in changing jobs, changing locations for a difference of 10k. Doesn't feel like it's worth the effort and stress of it all.

Look at the two jobs and decide which one has an upward mobility and stick with it. Your decision should be solely based on that.

The entire country is not very safe anyway.

Stay in Ogun State and get another extra stream of income that u can do online...

E.g Freelancing ( I can mentor u on this Sha )...Upwork & Copywriting....070.33.26.95.49..

If you are employed as a Program Officer/Assistant, I will advise you to move to Minna without thinking twice because you will be entitled to capacity building opportunities, per diems and transport Refund which will up your pay at the end of the month. Also, going to the field is tied to security assessment.
Most importantly, the cost of living in Minna, is lesser compared to Ogun.
The choice is yours to make.

The cost of living is relatively cheaper in Niger state compared to Ogun, so you might prefer the former. Minna is a actually a good city to live in, still secure and hospitable. However, there are other local governments like kotangora of Niger state that lack security, so it is safe within Minna.

Ogun and Niger state, which is peaceful?
Is like you don't know of the banditry and attacks affecting Niger state abi? If you knew, you wouldn't be asking this question.


You better stay in Ogun peacefully before you go sink yourself n the north in the midst of banditry and kidnappings.

I am currently in Niger state. I work here. I know so many people are advicing you against coming here because of insecurity. I tell you my brother, Minna is a place to be. There is no security problem here in the capital. Though life can be boring here especially if you are the social type but other variables are ok. Food is cheaper compared to South West. Transport is cheaper. Your only concern should be your Job security. I have a friend here doing moderately well with NGO work. If your Job security is fine, I will advice you come.
