Ignorance laden with superstitious mindset is the reason why so many people especially the so called educated one's attributed sleep paralysis to demonic attack.

I experienced this shi.t all through my unidays a decade ago and I use to think it was one unkept looking woman then that was attacking me.

The day I read about sleep paralysis was the day I stopped attributing it to demonic attack because I'm better informed now.

Oya clap for yourself. Mr educated.

Xenry:
Sleep paralysis (plural: sleep paralyses) is a state, during waking up or falling asleep, in which a person is aware but unable to move or speak.
During an episode, one may hallucinate (hear, feel, or see things that are not there), which often results in fear. Episodes generally last less than a couple of minutes. It may occur as a single episode or be recurrent.
The condition can be triggered by sleep deprivation, psychological stress, or abnormal sleep cycles. The underlying mechanism is believed to involve a dysfunction in REM sleep.
Have you experienced sleep paralysis before? Share your experience!

To some, it's demonic. To others, it's pretty normal. Share your own experience.

Well it has happened to me so many times. I always think I’m dead. It’s hits me really hard. I always say blood of Jesus but some times I have to say it multiple times. And also I’ve had dreams of rapture 3 times. Different ways.

I've had a few, the one I remembered vividly was when i was around 7 or 8 not sure, i woke up in the night because of up nepa, in my mind i was thinking of how to sneak to the parlor to watch TV, but i suddenly had this strange impression that someone was watching me, i looked straight at my window and I saw a human outline outside watching me I could see the eyes but I couldn't see the face the eyes didn't look human, I quickly took my pillow covered my head and i couldn't believe i could fall asleep but i did...Think it was a hallucination but it was just too real for me.

My God I think say na only me, it's very embarrassing. The last one that happened to me. I was experiencing sleep paralysis inside my dream, I mean like, in the dream, I was lying on my bed exactly the same way I was lying on real life, all of a sudden, two figures wearing black robes appeared at the edge of my bed, they started reading out something from a book that looked like a black Bible(I knew it wasn't a Christian Bible but a satanic one), all of a sudden, I couldn't move or do anything, I tried with all my might to move but I couldn't, I couldn't even speak, I tried and tried to mutter the word Jesus but couldn't, they kept on reading whatever it was they were reading. I didn't know how I suddenly found my voice and I started screaming JESUS JESUS JESUS. One of them fell down and they both disappeared. I continued screaming JESUS JESUS, I didn't knew that I was actually shouting in real life. All my flatmates ran into my room with weapons, when they saw that it was dream related, they started laughing at me, I was so embarrassed. Some of them were even with their girlfriends that night. The way the girls were laughing eh, I wanted the ground to open and swallow me

I used to think this was spiritual and I was under demonic attack. This unpleasant experience was a regular phenomenon for me when I was in college. Started few months when I got into college and, i think, it also ended few months after I graduated form college. Sometimes, it happens almost immediately I am about to fall asleep and I could experience it like 3 times a night. No matter how much I pray it out, it kept reoccurring. I thought it was spiritual. lol. No offense to those who believe demons are oppressing them but in almost 99% percent of the time, sleep paralysis is an indication of bad sleeping habit, sleep deprivation, stress and etc.

In my case, I studied an engineering course in one of the colleges in Nigeria. I was extremely discipline & hardworking to my own detriment. No kidding, for 5 years I was waking up at 3 a.m. & going to sleep around 11 p.m. or 11:30 p.m. Was it worth it? Maybe, I exceeded my expectations. But it could have been a pyrrhic victory - I almost destroyed my brain in the process. It doesn't happen to me anymore. I get my 8 hours of sleep sharp! even though I am pursing an advance degree now.

I forgot to add that there was almost no night I don't dream like twice lol. Excessively dreaming is also a sign that you might be sleep deprived or stress or something not good. Take care of your health. Sleep well!

It is a normal occurance for me I am used to it.

It mostly happens to me if I sleep in the morning , so what I do to avoid it ,once I wake up in the morning I don't go back to bed.

Back then in my university days ,I noticed when I go to class to read in the night(TDB) once I come back in the morning and I try to sleep, I can have like 5 attacks of sleep paralysis within 30 minutes.

So there is nothing spiritual about it , it just has to do with the brain and stress

Well the first one was in 2014 or so.
I was in ss1 and in Lagos for the holiday.
So I’m the dream people were falling and we were surrounded by fire. Some people were climbing ladders to the top. I was part of those people. All of a sudden I fell. As I was falling I was given a new ladder. From no where. Maybe it was redemption

Had my own share of sleep paralysis. Sometimes I even know they are about to happen seconds before they happen.
One of the weirdest(but want to relive it to know exactly what happened) was in 2018. I was watching a documentary about Ghosts, Reincarnation, and Haunted houses. It was interesting at first, but then at some point, I felt I was no longer alone in the room anymore. I could feel some presence with me in the living room, like shadowy beings or something.
Got so spooky, I had to leave the living room and go to my Mom's room( I was still in SS2). It was dead in the night so I laid beside her to sleep.
As I closed my eyes, I felt a strong urge to open my eyes and as I did, I saw a shadowy gray figure just some feet away from me. It was shapeless and it was just there.
Immediately, I lost control of my body. My eyes were flickering, hands vibrating like I was convulsing. I couldn't move or talk. But I wasn't scared. I'm not very religious, but I always believed that evil spirits have no dominion over humans.
I finally muttered some sentences and everything stopped. The figure had gone and I regained control of my body.
My mom woke up and asked me if I was talking to her but I said no. Lol. Knew she would tell me I didn't see anything but I knew what I saw.

Well, I still wish it would happen again to know exactly what it was.
Funny.

In my last sleep paralysis, a week before I gulped down a glass of combustible fluid of the highest octane, I saw a scarify beast-like creature, smiling pitifully towards me; hushing clamorously at me as I was jostling so hard to say a word.
Then, few seconds before I regained consciousness, he said to me " It lifts spirits, to find you close again. Your death will heal the scars I bear."

This horrible experience will forever etched upon my memory, to be honest.

Re: Share Your "Sleep Paralysis" Experience! by Nobody: 11:33pm On Dec 03, 2021
I just posted that it always happens to me whenever I pack into a new apartment.

Why you experienced it is because you are going to a new place/house/building.

That new location is not familiar with you, so it reacts against you.

Everything is alive. Even buildings and locations are alive.

When it sees someone for the first time,it may react and that may be in form of sleep paralysis.

But after sometime,it will accept you.

Just like some people act badly when they see you for the first time.

The reason we think that buildings and locations are not living things is that they fail in our definition of living things.

But human standard of measuring what is a living thing is not a complete standard. We believe that something must act in certain ways before we can categorize it as living thing. But this is not really the case.

That is why some people who are sensitive sometimes marry inanimate objects because of the interaction they have with the so called inanimate objects.

One man said he had a near death experience and as he was outside his physical body,he was astonished to realize that all things were fully alive, even buildings and stones.

luizpippo:
First time I experienced it was in 2013, I went to supervise the building of a hostel in Ibillo, I felt someone like an old woman approach the window, then the experience started, I was screaming Jesus inaudibly yet the presser pressed me to its satisfaction grin

The worst experience was in 2019 when I went to supervise a renovation at Ekpoma, I felt the walls of a standard room closing in on me, then the pressing started, it was the longest and scariest I ever had, I woke up and felt probably it was the clients nephew who threatened me when I first got there that was behind it grin

I always seem to know when it is about to start, if I am fast enough to lie on my side, I can escape it, lying on my tommy makes it lesser or even does not happen but lying face up seem to be an invitation grin grin grin

It happened to the that year. It's was clearly as a result of insufficient sleep. Now, I sleep well and it has become history. Had I approached any "clergy" man, he would have said that it's a spiritual attack, plunging me further in to more trouble. Emancipate yourself from spiritual enslavement!

I have experienced this sh*t about two times or so, It's scary as fvck

I remembered the last one i had i was sleeping face down and far gone in sleeping until i felt something on my back pressing the hell out of my body and arms, i tried lifting my arms i couldn't, I tried standing up i couldn't...This happened for about 2mins or so until i regained consciousness...

When i eventually woke up i could feel some steps but didn't see nothing but i have read about sleep paralysis before so i wasn't scared..I just stood up and went to the rest room to ease myself and continue my sleep back. there was this particular woman in my compound that i discussed the situation with after many weeks she told me about spiritual world that there are some demons that use to walk around the street aimlessly but when they sight a vulnerable person laying face up or sleeping unclad they would go into the room to copulate with the person or maybe do some other stuffs.

I was like this woman dey gimme fabu chop not until she told me about her late brother that gift of seeing the unseen creatures when he was alive that he used to tell her everything. The said woman literally changed my thinking about spirituality.

Do y'all actually know you are not the only one that live in your apartment...We all live with unseen creatures yes you heard me right.

Go on a travel for weeks and come back and check if everything you left in your rooms were all in right places as you left them. They live with you and you live with them.

Whoever that doesn't believe in spiritual world is a full blown ignorant.

Mic dropped.

I sincerely wish I can just keep quite while it lasts. It is so sad and embarrassing especially waking up and seeing people looking at you weirdly

I kept money inside my pocket and slept off. I saw Peter entering my room, and then he searched my pocket and took out my 5k.

I was trying to open my eyes but I couldn't. I tried saying a word but I couldn't. I started breathing heavily.

I had to keep increasing my breathing level until I woke up breathing heavily. I searched my pocket and saw my 5k.

Had it been I couldn't find my 5k, Peter would have been in trouble.
