I want you to understand something.

Cassava was introduced to Ndigbo and Yoruba people the same year.

Now look at both of us.
Ndigbo have used the cassava given to them to develop "Abacha, garri, akpụ for swallow etc and in the Biafran war brewed Beer from it.
But you, almost hundred years since it was introduced to you yorubas you have not developed anything from it apart copying Igbo garri that till now you haven't learnt from us how to make it yellow to reduce the toxicity of it.

BOMB !!!

I have noticed that same shit for quite a long time. the mods are so disgusting.

The mods don't push educative content to the FP, Nigerians don't want content like this, they prefer sexual and all those irrelevant stuffs.

I have created similar content, I even documented our sojourn to eastern yoruboid territory during the palm oil boom and that by the way influenced my argument with Igboid who appeared too paranoid.

This thread was first created by him though. Also, notice how some people are already derailing by introducing tribal isssh, soon, the Yorubas will come in and then this thread will be Done for good.

I don't have access to this material.
Anyone with access to it should open it, less see what is in it.

Apparently we not only brought superior metallurgy to Yorubas, we brought to Edos as well.
No surprises. You have to get to Edo before you get to Yoruba, if you are coming from Igboland.
And we have Idumoka village in Igueben town in Esan.
This village was founded by Oka blacksmiths and they were responsible for making the Eben and Ada of royal houses in Edo world.

The Oka blacksmiths couldn't crack how to make barrel of guns fast enough.
That was the Achilles hill that made the whites defeat us.
Oka blacksmiths were so skilled, they could replicate any metallic ware/technology they set their eyes on.
They could make all parts of a gun, but the barrel.

The funniest thing was that the Yoruba Blacksmiths were making very good gun barrels

The Yoruba ex Slaves from Brazil taught them a lot of things including Masonry, Capentry,Blacksmithing , Tailoring etc

Until lions tell their story, the tales of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.

Now let me shock you. Do you know that the Anglo-Aro war in Igboland cost Britain more resources, time and soldiers than what they call Bini Empire?

1. Aro expedition took 5 months while Bini took 9 days.

2. Aro expedition was fought on more than 10 fronts with major battles numbering 7, while Bini was two massacres, one was deliberate while the second was as a punishment.

3. Arọ shocked Britain by digging trenches to evade bullets while Bini didn't show any invention.

4. Arọ expedition cost Britain advanced weapons and manpower numbering 1,550 soldiers of which at least 700 died while the Bini expedition cost Britain 1,200 soldiers no mortar or advanced weaponry and barely recorded any casualty.

Now, answer me one question, between Aro and Bini, who is qualified to call herself an Empire?
let me shock you.

Haha!
I suspect this .
But we need to bring evidence.
Strong irrefutable ones.
The type we brought to that Bonny thread.

We are a Great race, but we have kept quiet for too long, so much that everyone around us have started taking our greatness for granted. Our ancestors achieved alot that we are not being given credit for today.

We have to start telling our stories ourselves.

For example, do you know that the money called "Manilla" used in the slave trade era as money, was invented by the Igbo.

Yet if you go to Wikipedia page, you see that they listed Calabar as the origin of Manilla.

This is because the colonials first saw Manilla at Calabar slave ports being used by Aros and Efiks for exchange of slaves .
And in error, they accredited Calabar with the money.
Even When Efiks are not known as blacksmiths, they have no iron ore minning sites in Efik land, so how could they have invented Manilla.

Moreover even in Efik, Manilla is called Okpoho.
Guess what? Okpoho is the name of Igbo blacksmith town in modern day Ezeagu LGA Enugu State where Manilla was traditionally minted and circulated all over Igboland and beyond.
Okpoho people were like the CBN of Ancient Igboland, minting Okpoho aka "Ego-Igwe".
Manilla is so Ancient to Igboland that it was even found among the materials buried in Igbo ukwu.

We have alot of misinformation about Ndiigbo to correct.

It was more than that if you include reinforcements. They continue to narrow it down so they settled for this number.

But anyhow they put it, if you look at the number you will notice that Aro took out more than half of the soldiers.
So they understood that they were dealing with civilised people unlike in Bini where they marched unchallenged, massacred and burnt down houses only to turn around and glorify them in bid to downplay those that stood up to them so that there won't be any repetition.

Imagine if Ndigbo grew up learning these histories, knowing how courageous their ancestors were, do you think that we will tolerate nonsense from anybody?
This is why Britain glorified those that made it easy for them, people like Bini and The Caliphate.

You won't see Britain glorify Igbo
I believe that the obi of Onitsha is British creation in the order of trying to create a controller

GOD BLESS OKPOGHO PEOPLE IN EZEAGU LGA OF ENUGU STATE - THE RED GOLD OF AFRICA!!!!!!

Okpogho an ancient city of Igbo land, is an iron- smelting community in Ezeagu Lga that gave West Africa the first metallic currency known as Okpogho Manila.

The innovation of this ancient metallic currency-ego igwe/ona was attributed to a great wawa man from the present Ezeagu Igbudu LGA. The name Okpogho which is the Efik fishermen's term for money or brass was given to this wawa iron maker; when people noticed that those precious bangles which he fashioned for his daughter Mgbolie could be used as a means of exchange of goods and services.

The early Portuguese explorers of the 1470s observed that copper bangles "okpogho Manila" were the principle money all along the West Africa coast.

The people of Okpogho will dig iron out of the ground and melt copper out of the stones to make a okpogho bangle. Through this process, the first metallic currency was introduced.

Thus, the ancient monetization of the precolonial Ezeagu economy by Okpogho people brought international trade to Ezeagu area earlier than the 15th century.

Since Okpogho Manila became the means of exchange, marketing activities took place among Ezeagu communities themselves and went to far countries like Mali, Cameroon, Burundi and Congo where Okpogho Manila had sphere of influence. In its inception, these bangle or Okpogho were predominantly made from copper as copper was referred to as " THE RED GOLD OF AFRICA ".

The name Manila is derived from Spanish for a bracelet manella, the Portuguese for hand-ring or after the Latin Manu's(hand) or from monilia, plural of monile(necklace).

God bless HRH Igwe Apostle Chimereze Linus Pius!

God bless Chief Christian Chris Okpoko Isiakwu 1 of Okpogho!

God bless ESD all over the world!

Like the Awka they were blacksmiths, but unlike the Awka, Okpogho blacksmiths never left Okpogho.
They were contented with sitting out home and minting the Manilla currency.

Below is Okpogho currency logo aka Manilla in 100 Naira.

I won't call British intrusion into Yoruba land as conquering but saving Yoruba people from wiping themselves out.

When Britain arrived at Yorubaland, they were in the middle of a serious civil war they call "kiriji war', so Britain saved them instead of conquering them.

It was saving not conquering
