Well, I'm still in school but I'm now financially independent. I train myself and my siblings with the help of the digital skill I learned which I also introduced to my friends. I'm not going to wait for employment because I'm already boss of my own.. |

Reasons for not being employed. 1)The population during the era of our mummies and daddies has almost times 2. The population of Nigeria in 1980 is not the same now. 2) Ease if getting employment before has reduced. Before in 90s, the First class students had automatic job but not anymore. 3) Parents still believe in the old way of getting employment that worked for them. And they are preparing their children for it, not knowing things has changed. in 90s there was no POS but now, you can even send money to someone as cash on weekends. No Dispatch rider business before but not anymore. Things has changed but most parents are still nurturing their children base on experience they had not knowing it had changed. 4)Many don't want to be flexible in doing things. It's not until you become a medical doctor before you make it. You can think of another side hustle that will make you good money while you do your studies alongside. But, some are too rigid in thinking. As a civil engineer in late 20s, you won't believe that I have a YouTube channel base on literature in English alone. I didn't study literature in English but I realized it could fetch me money, so, I gave it professional, pay them and publish my content and I made 1000 hours of watch within 2 months. Don't be too rigid in thinking. Am planning on exporting some crazy daily use stuff that sell at 200 naira in Nigeria but in USA, it's 2500 naira, Imagine such profit. 5) Some people love money too much that they cannot lose 1 percent of their income. Their is something I discovered about money some days ago. It's 'If you are always afraid of losing money you might not be rich' Check the world richest people, they lose like anything. Have done crazy business with people online, I mean people I don't know in person, I will send money to them without even caring if they scam me or not. Their were some that scammed and some were honest. But my ideology is that any money that will really affect me after losing, I don't trade with it online. I have bought books, made advert, bought application (I mean application already on play store) I just paid for making me known that that application exist and I need it badly. 6) People are not looking into how new technologies can fetch them money. I won't talk much on this. Ordinary Facebook ads, some graduate, even PhD holders in the country doesn't know it exist. I can sell my mango to people in Lagos that lack good mangoes without even going to Lagos. You can see, but some doesn't know. 7) Nigeria parents only know "Go to School" Most can help you borrow money for education but to borrow money for a new business or buy musical instrument that you love or buy your tools for crafting, they won't. Am not disputing education, but it shouldn't be traded away for talents and skills. Location problem: See, don't let us deceive ourselves, it's not a must to go to Lagos after school before you get good job. That's what some people don't know. I really wish Lagos should lay embargo on people influx, that's why those living their are struggling with transportation movement, still people are trooping as if their as if it's the only state. Look for problem in your town, solve it, make it for free at inception, add fee later, publicize it, you will see how you will be rich. 9) Most people cannot offer things freely. Yes I support the say that "nothing is free, even in Freetown", but their are some business that you will have to make some free service in other to get more customers. I mean business that won't really affect you negatively. Something like art, music, movie, e.t.c Those that doesn't really require you spending your fund. I am running a business presently and that business requires me to be meeting big big shops in my town for free advert. Imagine, I will go to their shop and tell them I want to market their goods and services freely. I will still love to write more but am stressed. Don't be too afraid of losing money, if you are, you might not be rich. But make sure you trade with what won't affect you negatively. We should be careful because the unemployment is likely to increase, It will increase if robot replace human work. Don't forget that Open AI, neura link, space X and some other new technologies are on the move working daily to make it happen. 3 Likes |

You think its easy to earn online? Whether digital skills or professional knowledge combined with skills, its not easy. Only if you know how many persons have digital skills, you would know its not like before, its now very competitive plus our environment is not friendly tech and to remote jobs. ambitiouschap17: |
