I think Nigeria needs a President that can develop each section of the country to be a champion in the niche that region holds a comparative advantage, with respect to other regions and West Africa.

Yes! Building bridges, flyovers and roads are forms of development. Gov. Wike has done well with his work in Rivers State. Likewise, Tinubu, Ambode and Sanwo-Olu ( correct spelling? ) in Lagos State.

Also worthy of mention, Governors Udom and Umahi have both transformed the infrastructural landscape of Akwa Ibom State and Ebonyi State respectively.

However, intrinsically, these states remain what they were. No development in the true sense of the word (no insults intended please)

Rivers and Akwa Ibom are still states where oil constitute the base of her economies. Other than infrastructure, Lagos is what it has always been.

It takes a keen sense of awareness and understanding to project a viable course for a state; especially if it's a departure from the obvious route/path that state should tow.

The one person I know that has changed the economic base of a state and truly brought to life what rebranding really means is Governor Donald Duke. If not for how successive administrations have mismanaged his legacies, Cross River State would currently have the highest IGR in Nigeria.

Mr Donald's performance as governor of Cross River State between 1999-2007 transformed the state from a subsistence agrarian/ civil service state to the number one tourist destination in Nigeria, nay West Africa.

A catalogue of the myriad of real societal and economic metamorphosis during his administration will do well as a course in development economics.

Obviously, he doesn't have the 'reach' of the Atikus and Tinubus. Yes, they are 'heavyweights'. Albeit, Nigeria might just get it right with a "paperweight'' politician.

Donald Duke didn't perform better than Tinubu as a Governor.

Tinubu can appoint Duke as Minister of Tourism if he joins the winning train now and deliver his base in Cross River
