Then YOU should have Stuck to Using a condom....

After all you had look at her as an ordinary call girl not worthy of carrying a baby for u.

Raising a Child is not Easy o....It might Mean....Losing the Zeal to go to the Club anymore....

You had all the time in the world to make that lady your wife, yet you refused. According to you, you preferred to keep her as a "friend with benefits", and use her as long as she would have foolishly allowed. Luckily for her, another man took her, loved her enough to wife her speedily, now you want to ruin what she has. Oga pls, carry your evil' mind away from that young marriage. You can always marry and have children, leave your ex alone. What will you gain if you destroy their marriage? Nothing. So don't do that.

Pure sentiment here. You're not objective.

Una just hammer OP for his wrongs, forgetting we all also make mistake and act foolish sometimes.

He has the right to know. But the approach to it in order not to cause problem between her and her partner is all that matter.

if the baby is the OP's and her marriage crashes, then she will only have her damn self to blame for that. nobody should marry her out of pity,... CO-PARENTING will be the only way to go here.

good day all,

I really do need your mature opinions on this issue, I'm a young man in my early 30s. due to my personality am the kind of guy that flex alot. night life parties, clubbing and the rest.sometime last year I happened to be at the club, just like any other day..I took a girl home. (one night stand) we had sex and in the morning she left after I sorted her out.

She took my number though and from there we started chatting, due to how we clicked easily.. just like every other guy..I decided turn her to a friend with benefits...from friend with benefits....she started acting all up like a girlfriend. (coming to my house to pass the night and she can decide to leave whenever she wants) during this period, we had consexual sex raw because I was beginning to trust her a little.... that she wasn't really that bad.

Fast forward to the ending March this year, one issue led to another...and she stopped coming to my house...though we still talked sometimes on phone... later I got to know she got hooked with one rich yahoo boy.( which I didn't Care, because me na block on my own)

Next thing I saw on her whatsapp status was her traditional introduction rights, inviting her friends and well wishers, I congratulated her and moved on. after some time I saw her upload a pics of her baby bump.

Na wa o, na so it dey quick, fast forward to yesterday evening she just put to birth... which she also sent on her whatsapp status. retweeting her friends who congratulated her on her status.

Now, I haven't congratulated her yet, this has got me worried.. thinking.... "WHAT IF THIS CHILD IS MINE" I have every reason to believe it's mine.

1) calculating the month we broke up and had sex last to this December she gave birth is like few days pass 9 months.

2) the way she acted on the issue that made her stop coming to my place again... showed she already had this planned out (picked the yahoo boy over me because she knows am not going wife her...due to how we met )

3) the baby she uploaded is quite fair, and I also am fair in complexion. (her man is black)

With this I have every reason to believe that child might be mine.... but am really confused don't know what to do... have been thinking ever since yesterday night.

Can I fight this now or I should wait till the baby is grown?

Moving on when I know I have a child somewhere, my offsprings is not an option.. because I feel scammed already.

Op I advice you to wait for the baby to reach certain months when the true resemblance will be revealed. Resemblance of a baby can't be determined at 2 days. So you can't ascertain that the baby is yours at this time considering the fact that she sleeps around. Friends telling you to act now don't mean well for you cus it's too early to start fighting over 2-day old baby.
If you're finally convinced that the baby resembles you, politely ask the lady for DNA test. Try as much as possible to avoid fighting with her. Fighting will never solve your problems, instead it'll create more cus by the time she decides to change things for you through the child, she will ruin your entire life, even the money you claim you have will finish, you'll go bankrupt.
I doubt you know what is involved in childcare? Billings upon billings. You'll wish to turn the hands of clock.

Best thing for your own peace of mind is to let her be. You might be lucky her husband will one day ask for DNA test if God wants to fight for you.
And just so you know that no amount of fight will make that child be in your custody. That's the beginning of your loss.

You may want to get the best advice from legally divorced men that pay child support, compare your own case that aren't married to the lady. She'll just treat you with excess bitterness.

The problem u have is that you like this girl, forget that matter of you trying to be cool and saying you will never wife her.
You like her but your problem is your pride, you feel you met her in a hotel so you can't get married to her but you enjoyed her company and her staying with you performing wife duties.
But now she has choose someone else over you and a probably a richer person, you become very jealous
.
The stone the builder refuse is now the cornerstone.
All this "the baby might be mine" is just an excuse to destroy her happiness as she is hurt you, even if it's turns out the child wasn't yours, you want the satisfaction of the husband finding out that the wife was cheating when they were dating each other.

And I am sure as petty as you might be you will even announce how you meet her in an hotel.

Just move on, many guys forming I don't care attitude are usually the ones that falls so hard in love

I looked up what Nigerian Family lawyers have to say about this:

In the course of the divorce proceedings, the court may make an order as to the maintenance of a child. Pursuant to the provisions of the Matrimonial Causes Act, any child below the age of 21 is automatically entitled to a maintenance. However, the maintenance order may be made in favour of a child above 21 years in exceptional circumstances. The maintenance order the court may make include welfare support, education advancement among others.

Meanwhile, an unmarried couple seeking an order of a child maintenance in Nigeria may do so pursuant to the provisions of the Child Rights Act or Child Rights Laws of the various states. The domicile of the parties is not required to institute such action like divorce proceedings, as by virtue of residence in such state will qualify the party to institute such action. A married couple not seeking a divorce, but just the maintenance of the child may institute an action pursuant to the Child Rights Act or Child Rights of a state.

• CONCLUSION
It is noteworthy that in the award of custody of a child by a court, the paramount interest of the child is the main key. However, it must be understood that the welfare of a child is not only the material provisions in the house, good clothes, food, air conditioners, television, but it is more of the happiness of the child and his or her psychological development.

Thus a child who is denied the necessary maintenance can make a formal report to the relevant Law agency to enforce his right. For instance, there are instances where single mother will be unable to get financial assistance from the father of her child, it is usually advisable that a single mother who has found herself in such quagmiretic situation, should take full advantage of the aforementioned section and seek help at the gender section of the police command Ikeja, Lagos, for immediate prosecution
**********************************

• CUSTODY OF A CHILD BORN OUTSIDE WEDLOCK
Under the Common law, a mother has a right to the custody of an illegitimate child to the exclusion of the natural father of the child. For a father to be awarded custody in such a circumstance under the common law, he must establish that the mother is unfit to look after the child.
Under the Customary law, if a woman has a child by a man to whom she is not married, the proper guardian of the child who is entitled to custody is the father of the mother and this is so even if the child has been legitimated by acknowledgement of the father.

This is applicable to our Igbo custom and tradition.
@totofucker, you don't have any right to claim the child even if the DNA says it's yours. A child born out of wedlock automatically belongs to the girl's father. He/She will bear the father of the girl's name. Nothing for you as the father of the child unless you decide to marry the mother.

So, hope this your lady is not an Igbo girl, if she is, then forget about her and the baby. Don't start a fight you can't finish.
