Hello guys!
Compliments of the season.

I have a few questions, please.

1. Who's traveling with Lufthansa on the 25th of Dec through Abuja to St. John's, Nl?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 20 by Cannymission: 11:26pm On Dec 25, 2021
Yes, I will be applying as a self sponsor.
Timegi99:
Hope you know you don't have to show the full 2 years tuition as POF, except you are self sponsored. If for example your parents are sponsoring you just need 1 year tuition and some evidence that there would be money again for your 2nd year.

Have you treated yourself now? I suggest you also look into that independently, and get the all-clear before re-applying.
Readytowear:

I wasn't told.
I already paid my first year tuition

Hi esteemed members,

I sent my passport via DHL to Abuja. But I was only charged 6940. I don't think this is for two-way courier. (Passport is scheduled to be delivered on December 30).

Is there something I can do about this?

Hello good morning everyone good morning to all the gurus as well.

It will be a long post and please I really need guidance and help/ advice.

Kindly read.

I have gotten two refusals.

My first application.....

I applied first early this year. Self sponsored. 18M in three banks all statements attached, but had lump sum deposit in one of them (sold some assets).

HERE WAS THE REFUSAL REASONS

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based in your family ties in Canada and your country of residence."

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR based on personal asset and financial status."

REQUESTED GCMS....

HERE IT IS......

PA is self funded. Employment letter shows PA makes 16,000 annually. Funds provided are not commensurate to PA income. Transaction on bank statement shows lump sum deposit. Source of funds unknown. Concerns about funding. Bank statement to be verified.

{ please note that in my SOP I stated there the businesses that I do I attached CAC OF MY COMPANY I ALSO PUT THE RECEIPT OF ALL EQUIPMENT THAT I HAVE FOR MY BUSINESS, so my only source was not just my salary, but I think I was judged based on only my salary as my only source of income}

HERE IS THE REPORT FROM IMMIGRATION AND BORDER CANADA

"I have reviewed the application. the applicant is seeking to study in Canada. I am not satisfied that the applicants will leave Canada at the end of their stay as a temporary residence. I note that the client is single, mobile, is not well established and has no dependents. taking the applicants plan of studies into account the documentation provided in support of the applicants financial situation does not demonstrate the funds will be sufficient or available. I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense weighing the factors in this application I am not satisfied that the applicant will adhere to the terms and conditions imposed as a temporary residence. For this reason above I have refused this application."

SECOND APPLICATION.....

I submitted LOE, I explained the source of income, I gave a detailed financial table that shows how much I make from each equipments and how much I have in the bank. I used a sponsor (cousin) this time around he has 13M balance and sent me 2.6M for my first semester tuition.

I paid first semester tuition. I still submitted my personal bank statement of 17M. They verified my bank account from the first application and I also reminded them that the funds are still very much there seated for months now that it is mine....

Yet I still got a refusal ... Here is the reasons again from my refusal letter. I just requested for my gcms note

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based in your family ties in Canada and your country of residence."

"I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR based on personal asset and financial status.".......

I ORDERED GCMS FOR THE SECOND APPLICATION, HERE IS WHAT IT SAYS....

I HAVE CONSIDERED THE POSITIVE FACTORS OUTLINED by THE APPLICANT, INCLUDING STATEMENTS OR OTHER EVIDENCE.

THE APPLICANT HAS PROVIDED A REASON FOR THEIR VISIT TO CANADA

HOWEVER I HAVE GIVEN LESS WEIGHT TO THE POSITIVE FACTORS FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS

I NOTE THAT THE APPLICANT INTENDS TO SELF SPONSOR,

HOWEVER GIVEN THAT INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE OF ALTERNATIVE INCOME HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED THE FUNDS AVAILABLE DON'T APPEAR TO BE COMMENSURATE TO HIS MONTHLY INCOME HENCE THE SOURCE OF FUNDS IN THE FINANCIAL STATEMENT IS NOT CLEAR INCLUDING ITS AVAILABILITY TO SUPPORT THE APPLICANT STUDY IN CANADA

I ALSO NOTE THAT THE APPLICANT COUSIN INTEND TO CO-SPONSOR studies however given the evidence of relationship/connection to third-party sponsor and the history of financial support are not sufficiently substantiated,I have concerns about the credibility of the sponsorship, limited obligation for the 3rd party sponsor to provide ongoing financial support.

based on the review of this document presented in support of this application the application appears not to be well established in the home country

I am not satisfied that the applicant to leave Canada at the end of their stay as temporary resident, I note that the applicant is not well established in home country has not demonstrated proof of dependent dependents. given the lack of family ties or economic motives to remain in home country the applicant incentives to remain in Canada may outweigh their ties to their home country

Weighing the factors in the application I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorised for their stay

for the reasons above I have refused this application.

Please can you advice or let me know what next to do.... As I have addressed the concerns from the first application I even used a sponsor this time around.....

.

So sorry about the delay. I am glad you are taking your time before putting in the 3rd application.

That said, I am not a guru and I will advice you wait for them to respond. However, I have a few observations based on the 1st and 2nd GCMS notes;
1. The VO retains doubts about your source of finance, despite your explanation in the 2nd application. Notably, the VO is not convinced about your explanations regarding your alternative source of income. He/she is also sceptical about the your cousin's sponsorship. (I want to believe someone who is not directly related to you is seen as a 3rd party sponsorship).

2. The VO is also concerned about your establishment in Nigeria. This is more about home ties. He sees you as single, mobile with no serious demonstration of ties to Nigeria.

My suggestions;

1. You need to demonstrate that your alternative source of income is viable and has been your main source of financial income, rather than your work which the VO sees as not paying enough. How you would do this a bit dodgy as I don't have details of how the business runs. However, you need to prove to the VO that the business is important to you and viable enough for you to return home (this also somehow demonstrates home ties). If possible shift your sponsor to any of your parent or direct sibling.

2. Being single, you must have reasons to come back home. It could be your parents and siblings serving as your home ties. Also, if you can have properties bequeathed to you by your parents in form of a gift deed, it could demonstrate home ties. Most importantly, you must prove to the VO that you have reasons to come back home. I would suggest to elaborate on your family ties and use your parents and siblings as reasons for wanting to come back. Your single status and less information about family may not help.

These are my thoughts. PLEASE, WAIT FOR THE GURUS.

Please which flight did you take?

Akanoa:

Hello. I will like to share my personal experience with you. I travelled yesterday December 23 and it was a hell of a journey and patience to get pta from the bank.
1. Create an account on that trades portal to check if your BVN is linked to your email. If not, you will have to add email to your BVN as soon as possible and it takes nothing less than 24hrs.
2.if there is email on your BVN, kindly create an account and request for the pta as soon as possible. I will suggest UBA because they are really fast. 25% would be given to you in cash while the rest will be loaded on a prepaid card which so far is working well for me.
3. Please make friend with the bank manager so that it can be fast tracked. The form A you filled has to be firstly approved by the bank then it moves to CBN for final approval. According to the standard I was told, it takes CBN nothing less 48 hours before it will be approved.
Wish you a safe trip to Canada. Currently replying this post from Amsterdam.

This is very obvious you show no ties to your home country. I do not know if applicants go through the cic website step by step to research application requirements. It is clearly stated there you have to prove your purpose, financial capability and also you intend to leave canada at the end of your studies. You have demonstrated 2 and left out the last one. I guarantee you that the problem is not finance, it is ties. I used a statement of 7m, no tuition paid at all but I have my parents and a child. If it by money many applications would not be refused. Find a way to show ties. It was in both refusals and judging from what you said you did not tackle it after the first refusal.

Sincerely, you've really put in your best in your application especially the second application. At this juncture, I will personally advise you to do either of these:

1. It looks like your application is kinda critical and you may need to request professionals in helping out. I'll suggest you contact Frankborn, so that you can both analyze and re-strategize.

2. If you want to work on the 3rd application on your own, I'll suggest you pay greater attention to your "HOME TIES"... It looks like the summary of the VO's concern is still on home tie, especially since no dependant, singleness brings great mobility. So you may need landed properties that are/is of good worth to solidify your home ties.
On the "FINANCES", bringing in your cousin in the second application did more damage, especially without showing strong convincing evidence of relationship. But you were able to proof your own income. Regardless of any method of sponsorship you wish to use now, pay attention to 2 things -
1. Go to any extent possible to show your personal incomes are really genuine.
2. If using your cousin or family member, make sure you establish a convincing relationship with strong LOE and proofs. And be certain the SOA you show is good enough, most importantly, if your sponsor has dependants.

All in all, please don't give up... There's always light at the end of the tunnel.

I paid #13,800 for two-way that is #6,900 each. Again, it depends on your location. Charges could vary based on where you’re sending from.

Were you given 2 way bill numbers? If yes, you’re on track. If no, you might need to go back to DHL for further advice.

I had been waiting to see your notes since your refusal.

I will say, show them you can actually spend the funds, this includes paying your tuition and do gic (this may not be an option considering that your source isnt only being questioned, but your abilty.

Then improve your hometimes, a lot of photos can do this and state how you cannot leave your business, aged parents, associations you belong to and if you are an active member will help.

{ please note that in my SOP I stated there the businesses that I do I attached CAC OF MY COMPANY I ALSO PUT THE RECEIPT OF ALL EQUIPMENT THAT I HAVE FOR MY BUSINESS, so my only source was not just my salary, but I think I was judged based on only my salary as my only source of income}

Please how do I book a medical appointment with IOM online?

Go there in person and enquire on booking. If you are lucky enough they would give u a hard copy booking for the week ahead or send it to u via email.

Go there as early as possible like before 6am but due to the festive period the crowd would be reduced but u jux have to go dere in person.

Please can you advice or let me know what next to do.... As I have addressed the concerns from the first application I even used a sponsor this time around.....

Leme just say something while we wait for the gurus

Your Homties was demonstrated in both applications brother.. There were concerns about the source of income and availability.. You explained the source and complicated issues by involving your cousin..

Wat to do...
Buy a land in your name to further show homties, with the moni u have u should have a car...Add the car receipt and documents..

talk about your parents and siblings to further demonstrate ties, show pictures of you and them.. Explained to the vo your aged parents would need your present back in Nigeria, Explain how ur business would always need ur present back in Nigeria

Then u can get a GIC for concerns relating to availability of funds..

Another issue might be on career progression which was faintly mentioned as one of the vo concerns.... Explain in your sop why the course u are going for and how it would impact your community in Nigeria..

If u must use your cousin, get old pictures of not of you, explain why he would want to support you, upload his employment letter and payslips, swear an affidavit of sponsorship, let him show commitment by not only sending u lump sum but actually paying ur tuition fee or getting a GIC for you.

I think this might fly. I must commend your tenacity

It would end in praise

I think it depends on location. I sent from southwest here and I was charged #9400, to & fro , twice of the amount

Thank you.

I sent it from Lagos. It should have been more than that. I will go back to make the necessary changes.

I paid #13,800 for two-way that is #6,900 each. Again, it depends on your location. Charges could vary based on where you’re sending from.

Were you given 2 way bill numbers? If yes, you’re on track. If no, you might need to go back to DHL for further advice.

Thank you.

I wasn't given 2-way bill numbers. I have told go back to inform them and do the needful.

Okay, thank you, I thought they are supposed to approve it together since they are just minor... It will ultimately end in praise

Kankanio:

You’re not alone. I applied with my 5 year old daughter. I got my approval on 15th.

I’ve been sending emails as well. I hope they respond soon so one can make arrangements for flights.

Let’s stay positive.
