It is simple, the moment you tell people that you wash plates or sell or work on the street abroad they would hate you, but the moment you take pictures with flashy cars and take pictures in a nice house they would love you.

I am proud of how I started my business in Brazil because you have to start from somewhere.

In fact, I actually got insulted because of my honest job, a lady that called herself an agent said I am advertising menial jobs for people to come and do abroad, no lady(d***my) I am teaching Africans to be independent when they go abroad, no jobs anywhere, this is why I love my brothers from senegal they are business men, they don't go abroad to look for jobs.

Africans love lies and this is why many Africans abroad would never tell you what they do abroad.

Forget about what people would say and do your honest job and take life easy, forget about social media and stay away from friends to avoid competition.

Many of those here always making noise on my thread if you ask them what they do abroad they would run away, lol. Many of them cut flowers and deliver pizza in America and Canada , I support honest jobs but I want them to be proud of their jobs, that's all, you won't see them on this thread because they can't bodly show us what they do abroad, I don't want to tag them because they are already in my ignore list

We know.

Anyone posting too many pictures online is possibly faking it.

But sometimes, I prefer to wash plates abroad (for roughly $10 per hour, 30 hours weekly...about $300), walk my nextdoor neighbour’s dog out twice every evening for $30 per week, launder and iron some clothes...$75 per week, and freelance a total of about $4000 writing online ...and living a lowkey life there than be in Nigeria earning ₦120k per month with Yoruba insults here and there. That sum in Naira is about ₦1,814,300.10...and that is not all. That is just not working even hard. Many Naija students there work like jaki there only to return and Benz up here...claiming Cubanna. They call it packaging.

My online diff with the people you talk about above is you'll never see me posting pictures because I'll be busy saving it to return to Nigeria and invest.

How many people actually fall for the cheap internet validation? No bi Regina boasted she spent ₦800k on shopping? On a real sense, it means she is still poor in a rich man's house!

When you migrate legally you are likely to do will to do job. I work for the same company in Canada as i did in Nigeria because I migrated legally. Go to the linkedin pages of top companies in usa, Canada or Europe and see the Nigerians there. This is not 1999 alot of Nigerians are making mega box abroad abeg. If you migrate illegally you are likely to end up in jobs you won’t be proud up.

Complex. If one is doing certain jobs in Nigeria then society sees that person as an illiterate. When the person goes abroad... he will not want his people to know he is doing the job of an illiterate ... neither will he want them to know he is sharing a room or is living in a small place . This is why almost always .... people snap pictures in the streets. The ones at home will not expect less .... and so the charade goes on .... until one arrives abroad and is faced with the real life abroad. You keep it real with people .... they shout you're discouraging them! Street sweeper ..... many seeing this will tell themselves if they get abroad they will humble themselves and accept this kind job.... not knowing it is not an easy job to get even for those with work permit.

Those Senegalese men like never ever be looking for jobs ..... always either driving taxi ... or street hawking!

You scatter the nail on the head and I love my Senegalese brothers their mentality is out of this world, they don't have that nonsense time to be looking for jobs up and down and they always have this unity and they take over,I respect them a guy from Senegal taught me how to fix wrist watches here in Brazil and i make money with that skill now

This is someone appreciating the honest truth that I always dish out, don't allow anyone abroad use pictures to fool you, we know the trick, they would come on nairaland and start claiming what they are not if you ask them to show evidence they won't because they are faceless and don't allow anyone fool you, many Nigerians are homeless in the USA and Canada, you can make it in any country abroad, me I am doing my aboki koisk business grin in Brazil(like someone yabbed me on nairaland, he said I leave naija go Brazil go open aboki koisk, lol) and I pay my bills that's what matters to me and I live comfortably in a 2 bedroom and many people lost their jobs during the pandemic but me way day aboki kiosk was still selling grin grin

They would come here and lie and say they migrated legally that is why they are working as a supreme Court judge in calala, lol. We have many Nigerians abroad that migrated legally and they still do menial jobs,I remember a story of a lady here on nairaland she and her family migrated to Canada legally but they had to do factory jobs before they finally balanced well, so tell me didn't they migrate legally?

Have a good day sir.

I often wonder why so many streets in Nigeria (and a few other African countries) are so full of litter yet there's many idle people.
