That sounds like a scam on paper - "Sweetheart deal", "0% commitment by FG", "multi function (transformer) vehicle" etc.
Why not include that it shoots lasers rays and electromagnetic bullets and it is being offered for free?

Betrayal of Nigeria

For all comments here doing important debate on RCWS, IFV, MRAP, overwhelming force destruction of enemy VS APC, Gun truck, HMG, stalemate 10 year ding dong war without end.

Intel from young admin staff filing top level official documents in highest offices of federal govt. of Nigeria, confirms one pending procurement offer roughly 1,300 vehicles of triple multifunction wheeled IFV MRAP APC mounted with RCWS auto cannon 25mm, auto grenade 40mm, GPMG 7.62mm, specs data, engine speed 120 kmh, body resists 14.5mm AP, belly resists 10kg TNT, thermals night vision sights 15km, fully funded by manufacturer 0% deposit payment for FG in sweetheart deal, is gathering dust inside file as we speak. Its national betrayal by those privileged VIPs enjoying benefits in dollars from all those 300 half-usefull China and Dubai armoured vehicles imported for war without any weapon, to weld 12.7mm HMG, same weapon used by Jihad insurgents, armed bandits, etc to keep on war without winner permanent stalemate
half useful ?
I would rather support a $100k mrap/ APC half useful hardware than a full useful $500k mrap/APC hardware full with restrictions.my only problem with our top brass is even when buying cheap non Western hardware we still buy In small Quantities.

Where did you see 'free of charge gift or donation in the comment?'

So you can't do a little thinking to figure it out mate? When you see export sales contract "fully funded by manufacturer, 0% deposit payment" use of the word deposit means credit purchase , no deposit of cash down, 100% cost will be repaid in future as scheduled in agreed portions broken down into tranches.

I have helped you edit and add it to the comment o, but try a little adult-education mate grin

Yes half useful because its not useless, but it cannot defeat current threats to secure Nigeria, we remain at war for ever, unless we do big procurement of vehicles best-fit for purpose. Nigerian Army 12.7mm HMG announced by NAHQ as our official main weapon VS Bandit & ISWAP 12.7mm HMG exactly same main weapon, is a fooolish game that will never end.

RCWS long existed since half century when Bradley IFV prototype came 50 years ago, NA refuses to do right.

To shun away 25mm RCWS vehicle six-seater, betrays all of us citizens who entrust official power to Abuja privileged few Naija VIPs.

If you are working for Proforce say so but I advise you not to think that Govt procurement departments are stupid. Even if you are a current local manufacturer or aspiring one, every offer would still have to go through hard headed evaluation with all factors considered.
Please remember also that Nigerian Army can make MRAPs

RCWS on land systems are relatively new concepts and most armies are just fielding
it as such it will be very difficult to find the type of videos you are asking for. But theoretically, it is a fact that RCWS are designed for precision and efficiency. I will search YouTube for the video, if I find, I will post and if I don't, the absence of such video evidence does not prove or disprove anything other than the fact that it hasn't been recorded in battle.

Mind you, the navy and airforce has been operating forms of RCWS for years and there are several videos of it's effectiveness.

You are advocating ASSUMPTIVE ignorance birthed from your own limited understanding.

RWS have been around for over thirty years , is that your definition of RECENT❓ It is certainly not mine.

You have fully remot weapon systems and you hsve gunner operated systems with target acquisition software and as such partly remote.

Do you know how much a remote weapon system costs
Because you have said it's too expensive in the ASSUMPTIVE negative. Please say so.

Personally , l would recommend retrofit and manufacturing it ourselves. If given the contract I definitely be able to do it 100%, it really is not that difficult.

The SABRE remote units from Ukraine can be procured for less than $10k made by volunteer tech forc

The technical n informative talks on RWS abi RCWS can also move to Telegram please, we need to enjoy such new ideas there so that soldiers on the field can create coded usernames and login to post on our new Telegram Forum.

To help those confused about RWS, see here facts to clear off wrong ideas.

**** RWS or RCWS is not new at all, came like 60 years ago. Began in Germany on Marda IFV in 1960. RWS is as old as Nigeria's independence. Lack of modern thinking made our dear Nigerian Army fail to acquire it since our outdated World War II manuals TRADOC dont have IFV in our army doctrine.

**** Among first Russian RWS was BMP-2 IFV turret made in 1975, used in Angola Bush War

**** RWS was made to equip IFV because APC can use manual 12.7 mm guns but IFV standard is 20 mm guns upward and cannot be effective with manual use, it will lack precision fire on moving enemy target, stabilization fire with its vehicle moving, long range night vision, safe operation by gunner under armour protection.

**** Intelligent White men made IFV because APC was not capable enough in protection and firepower, its war mumu thinking that IFV is not needed, NATO created it because its needed in war.

**** Manual gun turret is easy with 12.7 mm but hard to hand hold heavy recoil of 20mm, 25mm, 30mm cannons in a stable shoot.

**** The manual guns use human eye to target and is limited to 400 metres clear vision precision, but RWS uses optical sights to target up to 20 km depending on instrument range specs.

**** A human being manual gun has no night vision for combat in the night, smoke, dust, fog. A machine RCWS has infra red or thermal night vision to see through all those visual obstacles in combat.

**** Those two reasons give RWS some ISR capability that human eye manual gun operator will never have.

**** Cost; Since 60 years the price of RCWS has come down cheap. Western RWS like 5km range with 30mm gun with coaxial 7.62mm GPMG and 35mm grenade AGL, include all ammo supply all spare parts, made Romania or Poland, has dollar cost estimates 300k, China made is 200k, India made 100k.

Result of China RWS price is, those 300 empty vehicles, turn game changers, RWS 25 mm on tracked Type 85, RWS 14.5 mm on Dongfeng LATV, Bigfoot MRAP, but number drops to 200 as we cancel Legion MRAP, halve Dongfeng. We then have 200 powerful protected mobility able to fight day-night 24/7, to kill not repel, to degrade not contain enemies messing NA for dozen years unstoppable.

Either Fed Min of Defense Perm Secs, DHQ brass hats no get common sense or just wan chop our dollar every year, I no sabi which one.

We want NA to eliminate hundreds of killer gun trucks running all over us now, give our dying loyal troops RWS + protected mobility.

Move this hot topic to Telegram.

If you have a fire in your house, you don't carry water with a pale to end that fire. You get a high pressure water hose attached to fire truck and in a few minutes fire is over and totally out. With other option your House will be burned to ashes.

This war will not be won with air power it's a attrition warfare with a very elusive enemy. I hope you know it's possible to hide from aircraft. Much more so the turbo props A29 that give you enough warning with their loud engines to hide in the shrubs and long grass of the sahel Savannah. They Boko technicals just have to keep hidden for a few hours and it's over. I don't think the A29 will consider flying low to become targets for multiple AA gunfire.

Until you are prepared to commit autonomous search and destroy missions with the right armoured vehicles and precision weaponry we will be in stalemate.

When we do procurement we buy in units of 10,20 30 maybe ,60. It's abysmal, not good enough. That's why we are overstretched.

Our procurement should be in multiples of 1000 that makes an immediate and overwhelming impact on the battlefield management and strategy , you then ANNIHILATE your enemy.

What we are doing is like never taking the full course / dosage of malaria drug's to destroy the malaria in our system. So the malaria never goes away and it then develops resistance and become a bigger problem spreading to other parts of the body ( nation)

Until we have a better strategy with regards to procurement this situation will NEVER END. I did ask once for us to make suggestions what we would have done with the ,$600 million wasted on A29. Many hailed it as the one stop solution to end Boko.

Finally, I want you to consider your proposition in the bold. And I will turn it upside down and pribay leave feeling BEWILDERED in unbelief.

I can procure 3 used, fit for purpose MRAP type armoured vehicles for the cost of one brand new Toyota 70 series pick
which retail in excess of $55K if you add modifications then much more. The vehicles I am talking about are much more resilient, have huge survivability and ten times the lifespan of a Toyota series 70 soft skinned pick up truck in the battlefield. Some have less than 5000 km so very close to being brand new.

I want to believe that our highly trained senior officer know this but I'm not entirely sure Because incompetence is rife in all our government divisions.

So money is ABSOLUTELY not the problem but a lack of knowledge, ingenuity and quest for best value and use of resources for greatest efficacy. On the other hand we could also say, the quest for personal interest over rides national interest, graft.

Interesting proposition! I read you loud and clear regarding the RCWS. Pls expound with a motorised brigade ORBAT of these RCWS equipped ARvs with prices and sources. There's too little discussion here, just the usual in theatre NA pix we've seen for a DECADE!

Militants appear to be armed with a technical with OTO Melara Mod 56 howitzer, DShKM pattern HMG, Type 85 HMG, AKM pattern rifles, RPG-7 with PG-7VM rocket. This folks are doing alot of improvisation.

Makes me sad to see that the NA is loosing the media war - ignoring public relations is an inexcusable mistake. ISWAP is currently controlling the narrative by showing proof of their operations while the NA is just releasing ready-made text statements over and over again. Why dont they understand that (high quality) content on social media is a essential tool in the 21st century?

Say that again, brother. There was a time, not too long ago, when the NN and the NAF dominated the narrative with informative releases of what they were doing.
Now? Just back to wordy press releases about repelling, insurgents "meeting their Waterloo" and the obligatory pics of 4 to 5 rusty AKs after "numerous terrorists have been neutralised".

Ahhh Broz, so its only media war NA lose? Broz see Nigeria losing the whole of itself as Nigerian nation.

Bandito boys now hold new territory in Niger State few 100 miles away from Aso Rock FCT, created their own mini state inside Niger State under a Bandit Governor ruling two dozen villages in 5 LGA whose INEC elected Local Government Chairmen pick race run.

That ISWAP assault force drives to war in complete ORBAT standard motorized platoon of Nigerian Army they built as a full size motorized infantry platoon of our Army vehicles including Dubai sardine can Isotrex Tom Tom APC. See why NA DShkM protected mobility stupidiity waste of dollars are called half useless for our threat level?

Their 105mm cannon looks padded underneath by recoil force shock absorbers, also many parts removed to reduce weight, and Italian Mod56 howitzer has natural low recoil short barrel so 4x4 truck can support firing.

ISWAP improvised an Infantry Fire Support Vehicle, Assault Gun, Tank Destroyer that can destroy any Nigerian Army vehicle except our six VT-4 MBT.

Sadly only failing ideas decide FGN procurement. Better ideas are deleted. Even if its just the alleged 1,300 MRAP ISR IFV triple role on loan, cant PMB smartly avoid ending his 3,000 days in office in shame of guerillas defeat a general?

Nigerian Army only repels attackers, like NA is now a mosquito repellant?
