So Eguavoen, should have done what exactly, overhaul the existing team just two weeks to a major tournament.
His best bet was to stick with the existing players and only make necessary changes, he can then integrate 'new players' post AFCON.

New players like Nwakali or Ndah, Or the five local players in the contingency team?

Ademola lookman scored one goal yesterday... One goal o!
Suddenly he has become Messi and Ronaldo rolled into one, his exclusion has become the reason why Buhari will remove subsidy and everyone in Nigeria will suffer undecided
Iheanacho scored a goal and assisted two the other day... Heaven did not fall, people were still saying he should be dropped.
The level of foreign born ass licking here is something else!

Guy, because Rohr (the week and coward coach that gives victory to his opponents before battle is set ) failed to call nor used form players over training materials, the new coach must behave likewise!. Be truthful to yourself, in the past 2years of national team football, what impact has Musa and Shehu has on our football and going forward, do you honestly think they can effect our football development positively. Rorh was sacked because of the calamity to come according to Amaju, that is they see no future in Rorh bringing Tea cup to Nigeria...i don't expect the new coach to tow the same line....

Everybody cannot go to afcon

The strikers there self are too much

Na just love Una get for Ebuehi ,he only recently started 2 games and did well ,rohr didn’t call him on his recent squad before he was sacked so I don’t know why you guys are acting surprised

The only reason I want Ebuehi is ahead of shehu abdulahi and that’s all

Calvin bassey rohr no play am when e call am ,so make una cool down

By the way, the reason Rhor could use foreign based players as contingency is because those were international breaks. The AFCON is during the European clubs' playing window. It will be difficult to tell clubs to keep their players on standby in case someone injures in camp.

I hope you know Eguavoen does not even have time for a friendly match. He has to work with what is on ground. So he can not make too much changes few weeks to he AFCON.

Let us be realistic. You can not just dump the captain.

Eguavoen has explained that he will work with the team on ground due to time. That is the only solution.

It's a FIFA approved competition though, it won't be hard to call on them during an emergency. The clubs are obligated to release them, as long as the players were included in the initial provisional list and the clubs were dully informed

Where did I ever said musa and shehu are making impact to this team

I have always been against those 2 ,I remember some of them here telling me that they are old members of the team and can’t be dropped ,well they should stop ranting and move on as many of them once supported shehu and musa

What line should eguavoen had follow ? He is an interim coach and after Afcon he will be gone

Maybe eguavoen should have called lord Calvin bassey and Lionel lookman and ebuehi alves to make you guys happy grin

Nwakali is coming to camp because other players do not possess a key skill set Eguavoen needs for his strategy.

He can manage the others but he needs to see if he can get Nwakali to click because of his system.

Did you see what Ranieri's said about Dennis? Even with CAF approval and an email from the NFF, they are still complaining. This is a guy on CAF list.

Then how will you expect clubs to release their players to camp in case someone injures?

Ndidi moving to CB is a no for me. Let's leave him in his DM position.
The Ndidi that looked good in defence yesterday may flop tomorrow if the midfield is bad. A good midfield will take pressure off the defenders..I was telling a friend that part of what contributed to the poor form of Maguire is poor midfield (Fred+Tominay). Even Varane has started flopping.

Let Ndidi stay in Midfield especially as we nor get better defenders.

That initial list is not a CAF approved list for the competition. CAF will not send that list to the clubs. It will not come as an attachment with the email. CAF is not approving the contingency players. They can only enter the list in case of injuries before the tournament.

How exactly do you want him to perform? No friendlies lined up for the team and we don't where they are camping. Many of the players will even be reporting to camp on Jan 3 (6 days to AFCON opener)
If he doesn't do well in this campaign, no one will be justified to call him a failure. PROPER PREPARATION PREVENT POOR PERFORMANCE

Have you already given up hope of a good performance?

Well, from the short clip of Ndah posted on this thread... He is composed, he knows how to beat the press (averagely) , he is fast and his passes are good. But he is a poor marker and his clearances are questionable.

All in all, I also doubt that there is a contingency list somewhere. Any contingency has been accounted for when CAF decided to extend the squad size to a whooping 28 players.

So they expect everyone to plan around that number

I believe there are home based players invited to camp in case of any injuries. Remember Kelechi Nwakali got into the list through an injury.

That one is just rambling. Dennis is in the AFCON already. I won't blame Ranieri though, he's about to lose his best player for 3 weeks minimum, during the intense part of the season,

If we are still using Rohr's selections why did we sack Rohr again, you have listed the changes you would have made if you were the coach why are you now making excuses for a coach who has been paid to make them
Sir,every decisions took by Eguavoen on the list cannot be questioned....

I highlighted why Rohr failed especially on Ebuehi and Akpoguma....it's simple,Ebuehi as integral member of Afcon qualifier will make the team but Rhor didn't gave him the opportunity......On Akpoguma it was cleared that we need him but Rohr kept him on the bench which meant he wasn't good enough....this gave Eguavoen opportunity to look elsewhere and brought in Ndah who he believed he can do it.

If am the coach I will pick Ebuehi and Akpoguma but Rohr himself didn't rate the duo and I don't see Ebuehi making it even with Rohr but possibly Akpoguma.

The only grievances you can have against Austin Eguavoen was inclusion of Olisa Ndah, nothing more.
