This is True.
I have a Friend, Married with two kids.
Her husband was a consultant in FMC, Asaba.
The Husband moved to Saudi Arabia and is working there as a Medical Doctor with good pay.
Wife just moved to UK and working as a Nurse.
The company that hired the Wife paid for her visa, flight ticket, a pick up from Heathrow Airport, housed her with a fully stocked fridge, free internet and she would be paid £1,000 (720k) for staying indoors to master her new domain for a month and £2,000 (1.4M) for the first one year working with them.
Will a consultant receive such in Nigeria?
Let alone a NURSE.
Mind you, the recruitment process wasn't without stress but she is flexing UK now.
Children are with her Mum
Husband they hustle
Wife they Hustle

UK don't joke with NHS. I worked with NHS in St. Andrews, Scotland as a student for 8 months. You don't dare misbehave.

I don't blame anyone

If countries like The Netherlands, Canada, UK and Germany activate th free visa agreement with Nigeria today .. in less than 365days... I can assure you 75% of the population will depart the country

Fix the country! And we gonna sit our ass in our mother land
who do you think will fix the country when even the rulers have all secured good futures for themselves and families.

It’s the same as work ethic and values you’d find in all public establishments in the UK.

They can fix it if they want
Or they can damage it more

One thing for sure is... We came to this world alone ... Everyone should fight for what he deserves... If gov refuse to fix the country... find an alternative for ur self by leaving the country

Ur bros wife can't practice as a nurse with masters degree.
He need to do basic nursing courses, sit and pass council exams and be registered to practice.
You can enroll him in school of nursing or register jamb for him to enter university and study nursing science.
You can't be a registered Nurse with just masters in nursing.

No fewer than 15,049 nurses trained in Nigeria obtained licence to practise in the United Kingdom within a period of five years spanning from March 2017 to March 2021, The PUNCH has learnt.

This was disclosed in a report obtained from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of the UK on Tuesday in Abuja.

Our correspondent observed that Nigeria is the third highest country with foreign nurses in England coming after the Philippines and India.

The NMC is the UK body responsible for the registration of professionals eligible to practise in the UK. The body also investigates concerns about nurses, midwives and nursing associates.

In the report, the NMC said, “The number of people on the permanent register in England who trained outside the European Economic Area continues to grow. As of March 2017, the body stated that 2,670 Nigerian nurses registered on the register. In March 2018, the body noted that 2,678 registered between March 2017 and March 2018.

“March 2019 saw a record of 2,771 while the number of nurses who registered between March 2019 and March 2020 increased to 3,205. Within this period, the body noted that it opened a temporary COVID-19 register to accommodate nurses willing to practise.”
Alhough the body did not state the number of Nigerian nurses on the temporary COVID-19 register, it stated that between March 2020 and March 2021, a total of 3,725 Nigerian nurses registered and were granted licenses.
The PUNCH reports that on the list, Nigeria comes third in the list of foreign countries with nurses practicing in the UK coming after The Philippines and India.

The PUNCH reports that the Nigerian health sector is currently facing challenges in the area of brain drain as medical doctors and other health workers have continued to migrate over the years due to what experts tagged as “unfavorable” working conditions.

I told him to research and come up with details so that I would know how to support him. Going to seven months now, the young man has not given me any answer. I can't be the drummer boy and at the same time the dancer, so says an adage.

I told him to try Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Ihiala in Anambra state. Check with nursing departments of Nigerian universities or other schools of nursing. You can research as well. I am sure there are schools that offer that specialty. After successfully completing the program in Nigeria, you could start with writing practising exams in UK, US, Australia, Canada or any of the EU countries.

Why not help him secure masters there for 2 yrs, then enter nursing there another 2 yrs through masters. That's the best way to help. That's what most people do anyway. As he is schooling, he wil be doing some odd jobs to survive. The family can join too.

Wow. That's a new information. I was thinking doing masters in nursing is possible. I equally told him to try nursing schools and get more information. Thanks for this. I will research more and see.
