Hello everyone,

I am a bit new on this thread but i have been reading and will appreciate it if i can get the help i need. A little back story:

I am 34 years old, i have an MSc in Business from a UK university (2011) and a Bachelors from a University in Nigeria. I am married with 3 kids( 2 of which are US citizens) and i am currently working for a DFI here in Lagos and i have a thriving business by the side.
I intend to pursue my plans for an MBA and hopefully would love to go with my whole family by Gods grace or at least eventually take them with me. Now to my Questions:
1. Can i get recommendations for schools that offer MBA programmes preferably with scholarship options
2. What are my chances and what steps do i need to take( I have most of the required documents i think my concern is when it comes to the visa application
3. Is it possible to get the F1 visa and also secure the F2 for my spouse and 1 child ( since the remaining 2 of them are citizens they dont need)

I apologise to anyone in advance please dont be offended sometimes we just need someone to guide us.. thank you

I'm surprised you asked these questions. MBA is a well know threaded path.

That said, yes, you can get scholarshipS. Actually former a colleague got 3 scholarships - HBS, GSB and Sloan. But chose GSB. These schools, or even lower ranked ones, they like a) black woman and b) top GMAT scores. If you have two of these, you will go really far. If b) is not bad but you have a), then you will make some progress.

So, to answer your specific questions

1. All serious MBA programs give scholarships. Many even provide avenues to get loans. I had to ask twice when I visited HBS to be sure that they're indeed willing to provide avenues for loans to students they admit who may not be able to pay all the fees themselves or whose scholarships do not cover all fees

2. You need to take the GMAT. For some reason, some (most?) of us find this test challenging. But if you tear it, and you be black woman, top schools go pursue you enter your house smiley. If you don't get top scores, but your scores are decent, some type of partial scholarship is still possible. I know Omhengwo who went to Wharton with 50% and paid the rest 50% from life savings. lol. The short girl no gree borrow.

3. Yes, F2 visa is possible. I know many people whose immediate families have F2. Not a biggie, really.

Your questions are easy. Lol. Are you in this world?

How do you like it so far??

Arrived USA a few days ago via Qatar Airways. Very long but memorable journey. Got delayed for almost an hour at the point of entry but was later admitted.

Excited about this new journey. Good luck to everyone still in the process. I will always make out time to provide as much information I can.

Happy New year in advance.

You shouldn’t be asking this though, because flight prices fluctuates everyday. Do you personal research on all airlines you can think of and you’ll get your answer l.

I used Turkish Air, and we had a stopover at Istanbul for 9 hours. On their app the cost was about 433k but I went to their office and I was given a student discount which was about 383k.
Note that the length of the stopover depends on where you're going. Some flights to other parts of US left earlier than mine.
did they ask for anything covid vaccination ?

Gurus in the house, please I need your advice.

I just got my PhD admission US for Fall 2022. G.A offer-Full funding.

I got several admissions last year but couldn't go because I was planning my wedding. Deferred

I am pregnant at the moment and my due date is march/April by God's grace. I plan on going to the US with my baby and my husband.(F2)

I am waiting for my baby to be born before proceeding with i20, visa and the rest.

Please I will like to ask if there are any restrictions for taking a 3 or 4 months old baby to the US.

Should I defer my admission till spring 2023?

Please If you have anyone that has gone through something similar, I'll need your advice.

Thank you

So does that means I need to have the ID at hand before submitting the necessary documents? Also, should the ID be included in the Rec. Letters?
