According to the law of conservation of energy Energy and matter cannot be destroy but transformed from one form to another, right? That's not the definition of the law of Conservation of mass. First of all, that is only for ideal closed systems, so it's not something you can apply to the real world very well anyway. Secondly, it is talking about mass, not matter. Energy has/is mass. Third, in general relativity, mass and energy conservation in expanding volumes is not necessarily conserved. |

Bros you are still a small boy in this department. Don't you know that Energy and Mass are related through the Einstein's theory of Relativity(E=MC^2)? Mtchww...all these secondarians go just read one page come dey show ignorance ![]() |

The Law of the conservation of matter and energy only holds true in a closed system. It does not hold true in an open system. |

Steep:The universe is a closed system. So where does the mass in it escape to ? Can you see you're a small boy... ![]() |

How does this relate to the religion section? They go soon tell us say matter is Omniscient and Alpha and Omega. Comedians. |
| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by Steep(op): 4:58pm On Jan 05, 2022 |
To assume the Law of conservation of matter and energy to be true in a universal scale is to assume the universe to be a closed system, which itself creates bigger problem such as the boundary of the universe and what exist outside the boundary of space. |
| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by Steep(op): 5:03pm On Jan 05, 2022 |
Ammishaddai:Do you have an account of all the mass in the universe? Your are ignorant! The universe is considered an isolated system not a close system |

[s] Steep:[/s] You're still talking ignorantly. Newtonian mechanics and thermodynamics have proven this over and over again and have simulated this to the universe . Which is why I said the universe is a close system mumu |
| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by Steep(op): 6:06pm On Jan 05, 2022 |
the law of thermodynamics says we are running out of ‘usable’ energy that can not be replaced. Therefore, there cannot be infinite energy. Also, we also arrive at the conclusion that the universe and energy must have had a beginning, and must have an end. If the universe was always existent and never had any origin point and was eternal itself, we would have run out of usable energy an infinite amount of time ago. So therefore, we have limited energy that must end, and the energy itself cannot be infinite or eternal because that means it would have always existed, and if it were always existent, our finite energy would have been depleted over an infinite time span. |

| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by Steep(op): 7:40pm On Jan 05, 2022 |
There was a female physicist that proposed a theory called the Noether's theory. This theory suggested that the Law of conservation a is a law of symmetry. Which means the law of conservation is only on a condition of symmetry. Therefore to assume that energy/matter is eternal is to assume one knows all the conditions even before the big bang. |

We shall see. |

TenQ:Well it would only mean that usable energy is not eternal, and since non usable energy is useless in terms of doing work, does it not mean that there must necessarily be a cause to the existence of the universe? Again, what do you say about Noether's theory, that suggest that the Law of conservation of energy is only a product of symmetry? |
| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by damiloladuke: 10:52am On Jan 06, 2022 |
Crystyano:Keep my name out of your mouth. As the other guy said, you need a lot of prayers and help. How can you start cursing people who are helping others from the little they have. |

| Re: Is Matter And Energy Eternal? by TenQ: 6:42pm On Jan 06, 2022 |
Steep:I dont know about Noether's theory however, I certainly believe that 1. Matter and the current laws of Physics came into existence after the big bang 2. Since the big bang, entropy has been increasing 3. This increasing entropy show that the universe has an end...and if the universe has an end, it cannot be eternal. It takes a constant universe for it to have been eternal 4. The laws of physics break down before the big band and after entropy is maximum. I dont think the laws of physics could have arisen out of nothing. There must be a prime mover who is infinitely powerful, timeless, immaterial and eternal who set the universe in motion. Christians will call such a Prime mover God. |
