You make good points but my reason for not preaching balanced diet is because I have come to understand how much harder it is to maintain such on a budget like most Nigerians are on.
Plus, for me, it is hard to do that when a meal consists for instance of Pizza and fries or bagels and cream. I take supplements instead - the vegetables and fruits come when they come.

Balanced diet is all good and well for those who can afford it. But the majority , who I suspect can't, can still be made to realize that the loaf of bread or garri to be swallowed should be done with wisdom.

Funny enough, I prefer my fruits and veggies fresh to supplements. That's my go-to snacks for maintaining a healthy diet.

Snacking of fruits and vegetables is great and all but you can gain weight even on that alone. That isn't an issue with my supplements which make them my daily go-to.

Moderation is better than deprivation.

Also, make everything you eat count as part of what you eat for the day.

Me for example, if I crave cake, I don’t just eat it as a snack, I rather have it as breakfast with tea or cocoa drink, that way, I don’t eat unnecessarily.
To me, there’s no such thing as a snack. Even if it’s a doughnut or their kinds.
Whatever I eat counts as part of the day’s eating.

Not everyone works on a farm or in construction or manual labor self. These days, more and more people do work that instead require them to sit down all day, and so the waist continues to expand as they wolf down all those calories day after day.

Counting calories is stress when you haven't gotten a hang of it. It goes hand in hand with watching your portions. If I were, say, to rearrange furniture all day long, I will ofcourse load up so I don't faint half way through the day. But if I am spending the entire day in bed for instance, I know that the last thing I need is more food than my body can burn.

I have learned to watch it. My job is permanently remote and at this time, I'm not sure I want to go back to the office.

Now I do intermittent fasting (15/9 and 16/. Now we plan meals two weeks ahead since the beginning of the year so that I can ensure I watch my calories intake. At best for lunch, I do banana and nuts.

The only thing I can't sacrifice is my mocha. That one na addiction already.

Dinner:

Catfish creamy noodle soup. Unfortunately, there's no whipping cream at home so I substituted same with while milk and sour cream.
