No city in the UK without such prob especially when you have universities, bus and train stations located very close to town centres which is typical of UK cities apart from maybe London.

grin

I have lived and worked all over the UK, including London. London is the epicentre of druggies and drunks.

Luton has been reviewed everywhere online to be an absolute sheeithole, the reviews by people who were born and bred there cannot be wrong. I visited Sainsburys in Luton once for a training meeting and it reminded me of when I used to live in Sunderland. An absolute destiny killer soul destroying place to live in.

I been to Luton a couple of times for one thing or another . I noticed there a lot of council houses and run down houses where I went... in UK there just seem to be a relationship between money and crime. The areas with loads of council or lower income people the more the wahala....

The lady I went to see stays in a council 3 bed house. I have never seen a house so run down like that house..... but Husband and wife said they don't want to work for anybody and are not aspiring to do anything, it's now the wife is trying to bake which she very good at....
But I don't understand how a naija man would say his wife cannot work for anybody and forbids her from working yet him too doesn't work. . But I digress

However one of my boss stays in Luton and she said its a nice area so they have some good and very bad areas is what i think even if majority of the area is run down

Yes I do. cry

I went from Newcastle city centre to Luton town centre, and I was in for a shock.

Na you find trouble na for town centre

Lu3 and LU4 areas are not so bad.
I think places like Dunstable, Houghton Regis, stopsley are fair.

It’s been about 4 years I left Luton but most of my friends are still there and have all bought properties sef meaning they love it .

I’ve met a couple like that too. In fact the woman was hinting that we who came in legally weren’t ‘advised’ properly; that we should have done what they did to now be living free on government money. Free run down house plus allowances.

I was too shocked to comment. Just finished the business that carried me there & left.

Luton is rough, I’m part of the people living here. Lots of drugs, gambling, burglaries. Everywhere is just rough, maybe because I’m comparing to Newcastle oo… but I had to adjust my walk and dressing to avoid talk. The number of Junkies that will walk up to you and ask for money or drugs or smoke sef go shock you. On new year na so ambulance full everywhere, apparently some people had over partied and overdosed. And it’s dirty, you’ll see different types of vomit, shit, broken glass as you’re walking around.

There are other cities to stay in UK, research can’t give you the full low down on a city/town before you move. You either see it yourself or hear from someone else.

It sounds like London only worse….

Oh sorry, junkies de glasgow well well…. Hehehehe. But we don’t have poo on the ground like Apapa and Orile grin

Please assist.
My friend wants to book a return ticket. From what we are seeing, seems its only her husband can get PTA cos she can't book return ticket cos she has 3 kids. And when she tries to book for the kids alone, it must request for one Adult.
Please has anyone experienced this before?

What type of visa does your family has?

Hope you truly want to return or just to collect PTA?

Is either you haven’t seen your town centre on Saturday or Sunday morning or you are living in denial. I repeat again… no single city in the UK is free of this problem. They all have bad areas, drug dens, run down council houses.

Luton review Is about infighting between residents. White British blaming Asians and Eastern Europeans for crime and other antisocial problems

I know that. They will probably do return ticket together so as to get 8k , then apply for one child as adult n the other as a child. It will be a little expensive but it's better that way.

You are right, most Uk cities with a train station and high street have these problems. Glasgow is the no one drug capital of Europe so Scotland is not exempted.

Scotland
When it comes to researching the most dangerous places to live and work in Scotland, a lot of different types of surveys would appear ranging from all of the crime rates that can occur in the area. Scotland is an independent country and though a lot of the research found was closely linked to other parts of the United Kingdom these are the top 6 places for high crime rate in just Scotland alone:
Glasgow City
Edinburgh City
Dundee City
West Dunbartonshire
North Lanarkshire
Aberdeen City

Same with my part of London. It's so calm, clean and quiet, no druggies. Wasn't always like that though. It was not so calm when we had a large estate used as council houses and load of young people who didn't have a care in the world. Council housing gone from there now but estate remains looking fab.

The problem I have with Luton is lack of investment in social infrastructures, they keep maintaining outdated infrastructures and refused to modernise them. This is very common in many city councils outside London where you have majority ethnic minority running the council, running most of the businesses, owning houses. They award contracts to companies linked to friends and families. No maintenance culture. Identify politics etc.

The same problem in Bradford but look at Leeds which is just 20mins away, far better than Bradford’, properly managed.

The whole thing be come a mess when Eastern Europeans moved in especially gypsy Romanians . Crime and antisocial issues skyrocketed.

Those who know how to play the system earns more than a lot of people working full time.

In fact the UK biggest problem is the benefit system and it’s one of the reasons we are taxed to death
