Op don't be a lousy pig. Agriculture is life,I'm proudly an Agric graduate and Animal scientist. Way back in school it was only Fridays that we were given portions to clear but sometimes some courses require that we must plant new seedlings during the midweek, I never cleared from 100lv till final year,we realized we are being threatened and used by lecturers to clear the farm for them, when we were in the field, they will be writing names of those who cleared and submitting to lecturers for special marks of doing rotational practical ( clearing) some of us use to beg for our names to be written or bribe for our names to be written only for me n my guys to find out in 2hlv that lecturers threw away the names that we're submitted to him for clearing and our test or exam scores and results doesn't reflect that any extra mark was given to you for clearing so we stopped bothering about writing names in the field and kept chilling under shades or walking round campus every Friday while our scared course mates were labouring under the sun for imaginary marks. Lol, it's fun to study Agric in higher institutions especially when we doing the animal practicals that made other students see us as strange people. God bless Agric graduates/undergraduates, God bless Fisheries graduates/undergraduate and all Animal science or Agric related graduates I greet you all my people, it's not easy to save those powerful scienctific names in the head

Everybody wants to work in an Office. I weep for this generation. Wasted generation.
Farmers are among the richest in the advanced worlds.
This generation wants to get rich without working?

I enjoyed it during my stay in school, actually mine was animal science. At the beginning it was stressful but with time I became interesting to me...

The earlier we discover the importance of Agriculture, the better for all of us. You can chose to do without data, fuel etc but not food.

The issue here is not the farm, the problem is that our ancient universities and polytechnics will give them crude equipments instead of introducing them to modern farming equipments.

Hello nairalanders

Just came across this timetable in one of the federal university in Nigeria and it’s contains the workload for the internship students in the faculty.

I would love to know if after seeing this timetable you would like to study agriculture or love your child to study it?

My brother if you know the kind of money in Agriculture, you will not miss this training period.

There's nothing wrong with the time table!

Agric is mainly about practicals

That's the beauty of Agriculture, I mean the practical year. Just because of my one year practical experience, a dairy farm in Australia almost absorb me in 2015, when I narrated my experience during my IT year. If not for the Australian government that did not approve the company's application made on my behalf, I would have been in Australia since then, they told the farm to look inward for locals that can take up the job. You never know where that practical experience might take you to, just make sure you gain as much experience as you can. Agriculture is about passion, if you have passion for it, you won't see farm work as a big deal.

Dear op, what are you afraid of? Do you think Monday to Friday Farm work is only for one dept? Can't you see there are different departments in the faculty of Agriculture? According to the time table, every department dedicates only 2hrs to farm work once in a week. Do you think that is bad?
