The lady above has already explained to you that we don’t need some of these hardware because we’re fighting an internal war. The terrorists are still within the country. Do we have to burn down our house just to get rid of a rat?

All we need are close air support and light attack aircrafts that will inflict the right blow to the insurgents without too much collateral damage.
Moreover, almost all these jets are too fast to effectively deploy against the terrorists.

NB: Nigeria has fast jets too, up to 4.5 Gen

That's why asides from our drones, most of the flying crafts we have are hand me down, 6th or 5th generation crafts. Or we buy them from countries that would sell to us like Russia, Pakistan or china. And these countries too, they have the type they would sell to us. Not their high end crafts. Except maybe we trade something in return for them. This is where politics comes into play.

I agree we have poor human rights record, but what about Israel and Saudi Arabia that America continue to sell high tech weapons to despite their poor human rights record, isn't that hypocrisy and double standard?
