Don't mind our in-house Elite Clown. All pace, no brains indeed yet Zaidu has successfully held off the Wendell challenge to reclaim his place as first choice LB of Porto pre-afcon.
Zaidu isn't the most technical LB around but he is a fine mix of insane speed, power, strength and Decent technical qualities.

Never take that clown, komekn's opinions seriously especially when it concerns Naija players born and bred in Nigeria. He has always had a strong dislike for them from Osimhen to Iheanacho to Awoniyi to Zaidu to Sadiq to Chukwueze to Nwakali and like Kellycute says, very soon he will extend same bile to Akinkunmi Amoo (or he would avoid Amoo since he has now been called out on it predictively).

He is just trying to create a divide on our views here between the Home-grown talents based abroad and the Naija foreign born talents. But to the rest of us who truly support Naija football, like me for instance... I take them as all the same. I cover all them foreign borns and uncapped lads and the actual Super Eagles lads.
You know this... the rest know this. So please, ignore clowns and focus on the rich content you came here to read okay. Don't mind some detractors trying to cause wahala.

I started following this thread because of what you were doing on the previous thread about Nigerian players. Kudos for the good work my man cheesy

Meanwhile, anyone who is interested and is on Twitter, sports journalist, Calvin Emeka Onwuka will be hosting a Twitter Space by 12PM to discuss AFCON chances and the Round of 16 Knock Out stage

It will be a good way to gauge what to expect from our opponents, there was a similar Space yesterday and I learnt a few things about the Tunisian team

Anyway, if you are interested and chanced, you can come on Twitter and join the space.

No dey use name

Do you know how many people from Kaduna, Plateau, and Adamawa especially that have two English names? Is Emmanuel Dennis with two English names not from Adamawa?

You see how nobody gave his own matter any ethnic coloration, because people made assumptions of his ethnicity, but come out with an ethnic name in Nigeria, and see how you get polarising treatment. It is an issue across the board, and I find it funny how people who are repeat offenders of this same thing want to pick offence.

Go and call Simon aboki, you will see how nobody will say anything to you, but call Sadiq same thing, and people are forming offended

Why can't they be offended on behalf of the ones with English names?

Wow..... this an eye opener, I knew of plateau, and to some degree Karina, mainly southern Kaduna, but Adamawa phew don't knew about them that much

They are all actually very mad, and they need to check their own discriminatory ways.

Clearly, their problem is with themselves and not with others

You cannot even say Sadiq is not good enough for this team, without one Northerner coming to accuse you of rubbish on Twitter.

Sadiq is not good enough. When we said Onuachu was not good enough, did you see Igbo people crying tribalism? And Onuachu is even better than him. People have said Ejuke has done poorly, Igbo people have not accused anyone of anything, Nwakali has gotten some slating, and we have not heard anybody shout "it is because he is Igbo", but one mediocre Sadiq boy that ruins our attack gets called out for playing nonsense and idiots are trying to bully people out of their opinions and claim ethnic bias.

Nobody has told us Sadiq is an aboki more than Northerners have these past few days. They should check themselves.
I totally agree with you. But to be fair, a lot of people on Twitter, and even one or two on this thread, have said that the only reason Sadiq is on this team is quota system. That is simply not true, and I can understand how triggering that can be for someone who sees ethnic baiting and exchanges in everyday interactions in Nigeria. I think that is the angle he is coming from. For those on Facebook talking about Musa and discrimination, those ones no get sense.

I just think the guy is directing his anger at the wrong place.

Adamawa, Taraba and the FCT have a significant Christian population, Benue too. The only thing is that FCT and Benue people tend to use their native names more regularly than Adamawa and Taraba people.

There is pervasive ignorance in Nigeria on ethnicities, and while we could have excused this in 2002, there is too much information on the internet, too much interaction between people, for this ignorance to continue in 2022.

Which biased narrative?

I know the kind of senseless back and forth I went on with a Northerner on Twitter the day before yesterday, I know the kind of rubbish I saw from Northerners since that Saturday on Twitter.

Sadiq was not a good player. You can argue against people using certain terms to describe him, terms I did not even use, but what you cannot argue is that he was good and that is what the people I encountered were arguing for.

You don't even know where I was coming from, you just came at me because of silly tribal invectives. Did I use any derogatory term on Sadiq?

You were very defensive for whatever reason, and like I told you, you know why you felt attacked and I cannot do anything about that, but I also know why I chose to not entertain your emotion-laden rant

People bring up stuff here that is influenced by Twitter and Facebook all the time, and people can make commentary on it. You can get in your feelings though, I totally understand what discrimination does to people in Nigeria.

I just find it funny that there are Northerners that are complaining about representation in Super Eagles. Very funny

Even on this thread, there are people complaining about representation in the super eagles whether foreign born or local or from a certain region- and these people are not northerners. These things are not peculiar to only northerners but a general Nigerian thing.

I see no reason in saying "Northerners are tribalistic or they are all mad."

Since when people started criticizing his performance, did you see me quote anyone to defend him?

Most people on twitter ( northerners and southerners) are toxic and senseless.

I said "they are all mad" in relation to the people that he said were complaining on Facebook.

Our entire conversation was based on what we had been reading on Twitter and Facebook, not what is going on here.

You were clearly not following the conversation and decided to pick what you wanted to pick out of it.

How do you know Okoye is not good in penalties

You're wrong on Taraba tho, The Christian population in Taraba is not significant but dominant. Secondly, Taraba people somehow have a history with the Hausa but even at that it would be hard to find a Taraban without a Native name
