The tactics was too late. He is tactically inept.

You that is tactically savvy can you point to anywhere you posted what needs to be done and who needs to go in before they scored? Your analysis post-mortem. It's only because we conceded (lost) that's why you are saying all this.

The change in style wasn't late. Changing style in 60th minutes is not late. It was just unfortunate that we conceded before then.

The team played well and for the first time I didn't really see where to blame the team after a lost. Barring injuries, if we qualify for world cup, we will be hot.

As a concerned African, I am planning to write to the Ghanian presidency to do everything within their powers to get the following players of Ghanian descent, Tariq lamprey, Hudson-odoi, salisu, qudus, nketiah and Schlupp. This would make the WCQ more interesting to watch definitely

Saw it yesterday and I am happy for him

Ogu is 33 and didn’t make much money from football like your other super eagle players and the ones still playing currently .

Wishing him the best
Good timing, maybe he would solve our midfield issues grin grin

Ordinary Rashford and Greenwood has been benching Cavani since he came to ManU and we are even going far to Osimhen, Haaland and Vlahovic.

Ronaldo made cavani game time reduced ,and cavani use to battle injuries at United

Cavani had better goal ratio than rashford last season but Na rashford Dey play the whole match ,even with rashford playing double his minutes ,and their epl goals are 10 and 11 but one of them no Dey play all games and Dey battle injury grin

With lesser games last season cavani outscored greenwood also

I am sure if you are a Serbian and due to Luka Jovic impact at the bundesliga you would have been telling us here at the Serbian Nairaland that he would bench old benzema at Madrid and would also tell us how 19 year old camavinga will be starting ahead of modric at Madrid .

Despite the disappointment, which is expected, we still are the better team compared to other African teams going to the mundial, historically. Fans are getting impatient and rightfully so, cos things don't seem to change. Dynamics too. We don't beat chest or look all talented but we do better than those with such packaging. If this Afcon is anything to go by,the no African team that qualifies would perform any new shockers. Not even Senegal.

The Iceland match is the latest memorable event at the mundial. But against top teams, the Spain match is still the best performance.
I don't understand what you mean that we are the better team compared to other African teams going to the Mundial.
Our world cup preliminary round qualifiers was poor and ultimately saw the coach loose his job. We couldn't even beat a ragtag Tunisian team in the 2nd round of the Afcon. But somehow we are the best team going to the Mundial (we haven't even qualified yet).
When you say historically, are you saying Nigeria has better records at the world cup than the rest of Africa?

Please there was nothing memorable about the Iceland match. The first half was a bore fest while the 2nd half was just enough to beat Iceland who historically are the smallest country ever to qualify for the World Cup whilst making their debut. Chest beating about winning Iceland tells a sad story of our current state of football.

Chelsea are going to give Cavani a year contract.

Man is a legend, tested at both club and country level.

In recent years chelsea hasn't sign a striker (main) without 20+ goals in a season.
And what happens next?

Turn them into a striker that cannot score 20 league goals in 2 seasons combined and go back to the market to buy another then the cycle continues? undecided undecided

No....

The leading team, Tunisia will held the ball. First you must get it back before attacking. Second, when you attack, you must have a little shape to defend.

So, bringing in Semi for long balls will defeat the task.

All that came in were offensive runners. Iwobi, Olayinka, Sadiq and Musa. Sadiq even being the slowest but still did loads of offensive running.

That was because the Tunisians are tidy at keeping the ball. Even in the offensive third.

How did the task turn out? Did we score? At a certain part of a game u have to forget about the system and figure out a way to get the ball into the back of the net. We can't be so in love with playing a certain style that we forget common sense.

Yeah you are right. Enough of the hype, we need to come down back to earth. We need to work as a team and forget names and positions. I watched Comoros yesterday and thought if we played with this same energy and lost then I will not feel so bad. Hardly did I see anyone dribble but they kept on passing the ball.
We have a lot of work to do if we are to qualify for this so called world cup.

you.self think am, Austin suppose switch formation for second half, na wetin Rohr go do be that
the same Rohr we all roasted here due to his late substitution. Wait, has Rohr ever switch formation for once in the middle of the match?
And Austin did switch tactic and formation. Iwobi came on as the third midfielder and we started pressing. The red card really spoilt things.

My guy my guy

Nerdie, you really understand me

I don't ever want to be disappointed again by the SE

That's why I don't keep my hopes up and think about the worst case scenario each game

I really wanted SE to win but guess what, my heart will heal easily because I have prepared it for the worst possible scenario and I mouthed it here often so we could prepare our hearts should in case it turns out badly

Guess I was right after all. But it is painful to be right

smiley
You were not right because we had a poor team. If you are not 17 or 18, trolling co-forumites with defeatist mentality is childishness. In fact it is stupidity. I'm not mincing words because you do this only when we are defeated or playing awful.

We were defeated purely on tactics and many things went wrong on the day. Instead of you to be sensitive to how hurt people were, you were gloating and mocking.

Where were you when we beat 3 teams? Why do you appear only when we suffer defeat? Are you a fan or an agent provocateur? Why do you see only defects and flaws in our team from one set of players to another without seeing our strengths?

And just so you know, maybe for those who started following SE recently, this defeat is one you can rub salt in their wounds but for me and others who are long time followers of the team, you are on a fruitless mission. Can this defeat be more painful than Nig vs Italy in USA 94? Can it be more painful than Nig v Denmark in France 98 or Nigeria v Cameroon at Afcon 2000?
Did this defeat hurt? Yes because we had so much hope. And we will hold on to that hope rather than give in to the cynicism of "curbing our enthusiasm"
Even relegation bound teams have their fan base.

Make una calm down o.. It will take a while to get over this but we move...It happens... There's still a world cup qualification to prepare for..

The big question is who will lead the team?
I for once would like Eguavon to continue.. This Pseiro guy doesn't inspire much confidence with his CV...
Eguavoen should continue abeg. I'm tired of all these journeymen, washed out European coaches who leverage on their skin to get coaching jobs in Africa. Most of them are actually empty-headed and no better than our own coaches

Oga Joe then why does Pep change system when his teams are behind at the end of matches If the situation is serious enough Man City will turn into Burnley quick, fast and in a hur. At the end of the 90 minutes the team didn't score. U can't tell me wat will happen if we changed the system cause we didn't change it and the score stayed the same.

Akpeyi was not spared in 2019, Ighalo was threatened after missing that chance that would have pull us through during the WC. Both still came back to play for the team. Maduka may still come back to the team.
