Companies are looking for short cuts to dodge paying living wage to their employees. If it is not causal staff, it is using HND in place of Bsc. Then there will always be Bsc opportunities that OND can comfortably fill. So it is all about dodging huge salary bills

That's fallacious. There are many bsc holders that are very intelligent, competent ni in and smart. Most times when they get the chance to find themselves in a system that works, they're super flyers. The Nigeria system can destroy anyone but for grace.

They will tell you that your degree is too high, For your on good, before or when you graduate just learn a skill, get yourself a job and make your self your own boss, and still hold the certificate and use it later Incase any secure government job pays you higher so that you can move to the next level but if the government job is not that sactisifed you can stay out with your personal job that is one secret I enjoy today, and am willing to share to everyone..

And I can beat my chest and say, I'm part of them..

Even a 2.2 graduate from that same department worked with Mandela before zooming off to france.

Stop justifying the new trend of belittling school or the BSC certificate.

I must confess I applied for almost all Military, para military and even ministry in Nigeria...and I met lots of people like me finding a job...

I'm telling you have met couple of grad and will gladly apply those jobs with Olevel...

Lol, very true. My Poly interns way back were more submissive. The university ones were such pain in the ass. Very proud and entitled. It was really about their lower expectations and submissiveness tbh. This is turn made them willing to do more.

The world is going digital, imagine a website designer charging $5k for a job that won't take him more than 4 days while a Bsc holder in Nigeria here is looking for a monthly job of 70,80k

I told my younger cousin after graduation that he should go learn SEO, Copywriting & Video editing....Today, he's a millionaire earning nothing less than 2 million naira monthly

Because salary scales are based on certificates. OND/HND graduates are cheaper to employ and their productivities are at par with B.Sc holders. People with B.Sc have not shown any remarkable skills that could differentiate them from OND/HND holders. Do we blame "sorting"?

I'm being Course Specific..

If you are doing other courses apart from any science and engineering courses, make sure u learn a skill to back it up..
Even at that, still learn a skill..

But those that now work with the oil companies don't have any skill, all they had to do was get a first class....

Small firms that wish to grow and not go bankrupt in Nigeria should avoid hiring male Bsc holders lolz, most are criminal minded. They will be wondering how you the company owner made money so they can do same and quit your job fast lol



Some of them that came for one of our interviews at a time were even older than me, some fatter and huge than I am hehe, and you need to see how they were looking at me with anger like na this one I go de answer sir



Abeg OND holders are far better for small firms, and then hire fine female Bsc holders in your Accounting department and have peace of mind jareh lol

Degrees are useless when there is no job market or when the pool of labour far outstrips the number of jobs available.
