brother i guess everybodys opinion of hammer is different. see this word HAMMER only applies if you are working in the usa and having the cost of living of nigeria. but if you are living in the usa ? you have usa cost of living and dare i say anything less than 150,000 dollars a year is struggling ooooo. dem tax am, you pay rent, your childrens school fees, you pay health insurance, you pay other bills, you buy food, buy clothes for children, buy gas for motor, pay car insurance etc etc 150,000 dollars done finish oooo. so all those jobs you mentioned ? plumbing etc etc, na struggle life for yankee be dat oooo. the thing is to become a guru in IT programming and be earning 200 thousand usa dollars while living in naija working remotely. now thats iving grin grin grin grin

So Nurses earning and pharmacists earning less than 150k a year are struggling?

How many people in the US earn 100k a year.

You can't fulfill any dream in life if you are not feeding yourself and taking care of your responsibilities like family , rent.

Making your dream come to pass is not moinmoin, which is most people never do.

Most people you see massively successful today except those born to rich families worked jobs first. Not talking about Nigeria, talking about the USA.

There is dignity in labor. No dignity in begging relatives and friends to lend you money or pay your children's school fees.

The fact that people see being a security personnel as a bad job is worrisome. This goes to show you how deep the rot in our society is. Most Nigerians dot believe in dignity in labour.

If you know the number of Nigerians who had thriving businesses in Nigeria, and due to the whole ''oyinboland is better'' mentality, abandoned or sold their businesses, land, cars etc, and migrated to Europe or US, only to be working now as low-paid security guards and bus drivers, with no career prospects, you will weep. Most of them are too ashamed and broke to return back home, and simply continue working their menial jobs there.

Lesson: If you have a business in Nigeria, you already have what 95% of Nigerians in the diaspora wish they had - financial independence. Being your own boss. Do not throw it away to become a nobody in the west.

It shall be well with you and all your Generation for this Reply, you make my day

ahhh you no understand the system ? that money is small but it is just that when you have a good job you have access to credit and loans. all those people owe so much money in loans that they are paying back. forget that illusion living oooo. the average household in america is 400 thousand dollars in debt. so all that good living na igbese. the salary itself is small. angry grin

to enjoy yankee well well with no debts hanging over your neck you must earn correct money oooo my brother. at least 200k a year

Bro, do you live in America? If not, I advice you do.
Average household has 400k debt how? Credit Card? That's impossible. Or your mean mortgage? That's a debt, generating money.

My cousin just sold his house after 12 years of ownership; he collected cool $110,000 profit with no work. House simply increased in value to $320,000.

Please try and read "Rich Dad , Poor Dad". Some debt are good. Even in the Bible, Elijah told the widow to borrow vessels.

That refinery Dangote is building na loan o! Yet his net worth will increase by $20 billion when it's done.

Wisdom is profitable.

Again if you are earning 150k a year in America, YOU ARE RICH by American standards. grin

Bank manager in Nigeria, you walk a tightrope until they sack you. If you don't steal someone will eventually steal money on your watch and boom, you're out on the street, kids out of school, wife leaves. And you wont get the same caliber of job ever again.

In the USA even if you lose one job you can get another one reasonably soon, if you're hardworking. A functional society. Nigeria was programmed to ruin square people, it mainly rewards criminal activity.

My two cents tho
sense no go kill you

I know you earn very well and you believe everyone else (below you on the scale) must be living poorly.

They don't employ people like that in USA o. Millionaire sef no get driver, no get servant talk less of gateman (non existent job).

Everybody who has a job gets paid well and works strict hours. Pay includes insurance, 401k ( pension) overtime. Unless you want to give all your salary to your " gateman " grin

Don't be shocked if a bank manager in Nigeria sees more choppings than even a bank manager in USA after taxes!
The average take home pay for a bank manager in the USA per annum is more than $60k.
