Hello,

Created this thread to share my side of the story regarding this thread:

https://www.nairaland.com/6968649/customer-blocked-me-after-making

On Wednesday last week, I contacted Xcelinteriors cos I wanted to buy wallpaper and carpet. We agreed on N90k as the amount for the items (excluding waybill). I had every intention of paying for these items as I requested for her to drop her acc number for me to make payment more than once (u can see that from our chats) but she suggested she would first go to the park to confirm how the waybill would cost so I send everything including the money for waybill at once.

She told me she would leave her office to the park when she closes for the day and when she gets there I would talk with the park ppl to negotiate for the waybill and send the full money including the waybill to her.

After our last conversation, something came up on my end so with remorse, chatted her up to let her know she should not bother going to the park anymore as I won't be able to pay for the items any more.

I 100% had no idea she had already gone to the park (according to her) cos we talked on video around few minutes to 3pm.

Around 4:41pm, I messaged her that she should not bother going to the park again and something came up on my end so I won't be able to pay for the items again (as at when I sent this message, she did not tell me she had closed for the day already and was going to the park to waybill the items).

cool

Forget about those sycophants asking you jamb question on ( why did u blocked her) sometimes shit happen,

just try and link with her, try send 3k or 4k for all her tp expenses within Lagos, screen shot and get back here to free your conscience..

My own cent.

What did I make her loose please?

The items were not waybilled, the items are still with her.

I agree I fvcked up as I am yet to buy and I wasted her time and also stressed her out, but that was never my intention. If u read through everything I posted u would see my intention towards how it all went down.

This is very different from ur case

Oh my goodness grin grin..how did u 4k up?? Dont allow these women and simps to manipulate u ... people cancel order in the last minute... infact people cancel orders at domino's pizza after its been packaged .... its part of the business ....u did nothing wrong.....u committed no crime , if she dint read ur message, its her fault and not urs ...

Our people too like emotional blackmail. I wonder if some people actually comprehend what they read before commenting?

Op created this thread, explained his own side of what transpired, admitted his 4ck up (even though I don't see how that is) and with proofs of his intentions to make it up when he is ready. He even added screenshots of his chat yet some people wey never get disappointment dey yan anyhow.

I have had clients book dates with me on phone, days ahead of event and we even agree on price. Only for them to call maybe a day to the event that they've gotten another person. Some will even tell me not to bother that they don't want the services again. This after I have made certain contacts, gotten assistants on standby and even started calculating how to spend the raba. It could be quite painful but that's the shi.t that comes with business. It doesn't always go as planned.

Op, just keep to you word and still find a way to make it up to her at least for the stress. I pray make your money sure sha.

In this case it is different. Her service is pay on delivery. She was not wise enough to charge him before delivery knowing fully well how some Nigerians behave

The truth OP is that you did not have a farthing in your pocket to make that purchase. It was a very deliberate and childish act on your part. You blocked her because you knew that your lie had expired.

It happens all the time with people like you who window shop online. Rather than look and end it there, you contact the seller acting as if you want to buy, bringing up the hope of the seller and finally dodging the seller.

The Lady too is an inexperienced seller. You must ensure that your buyer is serious and committed. You must have phone numbers of haulage drivers, so you do not go on a wasted journey.

It has happened to me multiple times, and my boys are used to it when they get these orders ...its nothing new ...its part of the business ...thats the risky part of any business... out of every 100 orders about 30 will be cancelled...a good business man knows this and puts it in his loss account...he ends up making it up with the other sold goods

Does this even make sense to you?
Rubbish!
So you will make order in domino without making payment?

Personally,I did not see anything wrong here..People are free to change their mind.

The Seller made a mistake by cutting the materials when she has not seen any alert..In business you don't do that..As for the transport...common people it's part of business expenses....if it had sailed through who will be talking of the profit.

All customers are seen and treated as potential customers until their alert confirms them a true customer.

Lessons learnt by the Seller, sorry it was learnt in a hard way.

Never run a business with emotions.

This is simply the a case of cost of doing business. It happens quite well and is nothing strange or one to feel emotionally drained. Get over it, but for next time if you’re getting the fee via proxy, always ensure you’re certain the fee is with you before contacting the seller or you state it to the seller from the very start of your negotiations so they know how to approach the situation.

even if she has gone to the park it means nothing. Anything can happen. Companies pull off from deals at the last minute. You owe no one apologies for pulling off anytime you want, as long as you don't scam anyone. Business is all about ups and down, sometimes we loose, sometimes we win. Can they swear they have never made a customer miss her product due to delay at their end. Everyone should learn how to do business.

Now coming back to you Op, I read her part of the story, and you did a very wicked act buy allowing her to cut the materials and then not buying it. Who on earth will she sell it to. You knew someone else was buying, why didn't you wait till you get the money.what you did was wicked. I hope someone else does that to you.

These stuffs are measured in yards... now all she must have done was to cut the the number of yards he needed ... she can still very much resell it.... infact I have bought material that was meant to be sold to someone ... 6 yards that was already cut , so the customer sold it to me as the previous customer disappointed

Sure u can cancel but one has to be careful on items that it sales can alter the phsyical apearance like perishable goods. This, in this case is the fact that she has cut the materials. He couldn't have let her do that.

Well I guess the main question now is "why did you block her after everything?"
She might be raining curses and abuse on him, hence the need for that. U know women are highly emotional when it comes to circumstances working against them. I was even thinking she had sent the items already before blocking her, but since that's not the case, it's still fair. The scenario can be painful though, but can be a lesson to learn from as a business person. Stuff like this is bound to happen in business.

If she sit on traffic that's part of business all business must not go successful ask jumia what they are facing. Those dayz when I dey do jumia I go sit for traffic spent my transport and take my market to Adeniyi Jones. End of the day jumia will return the items and am to spend another money with stress to go and pick it up. For the fact that she is with her Materials. Don't so much blame the buyer. If I tell you how much of my Goods that lost for jumia hand will be shouting. Business is not 100 percent. What if the buyer tried to do transfer and network did not go through, wount she take the material back. Most of here that is commenting rubbish I don't think you have done business before. You loose you gain that's business. When you gain nobody will hear your noise, when it seems you loose little transport nobody will hear word. For blocking you is the right thing the guy suppose do cos I know you will be raining insult on the guy that is straight forward.

Aside making her sit through traffic to the park, what about the linoleum she won't be able to sell because you made her cut it, life is hard already, you shouldn't cause another person pain by selfishly thinking of yourself whenever you act, it's unfair.

I know I am being pedantic here, but the correct word is "shipped" not "waybilled". There is no such word as "waybilled". A Waybill is a list of passengers or goods being carried on a vehicle.

You're comparing someone who is not even a small business owner to jumia a big conglomerate that has carved a niche for itself, this is why people goto big clubs and pay 20k for bottled water then protest when they are asked to pay 200 naira for same bottled water at any roadside vendor, she can't afford that luxury running a small time business, that it's okay with jumia doesn't mean it should be okay with her, why did he not try same nonsense with the so called jumia, did he not see jumia before opting for her? Don't use grammar to cover his evils abeg.

According to Xcelinteriors she was in traffic for close to 3 hours but I talked with her on video around 14:58, then told her I wasn't buying again when she had already gotten to the park.

Just so u know, during the video call she made no mention of going to the park at that very moment. She only reiterated what she said earlier (which was that she would leave her shop to the park when she has closed for the day). Why u come block her!!??

The time between when we talked on video and when I told her I wasn't buying again was just over one hour, how come she spent close to there hours in traffic and why did she not let me know she was going to the park.

I already agree I fvcked up by pulling out last minute but the picture she is trying to paint with her thread is really not how it went down..

why u come block her

You see why people like to do Pay before delivery? Had it been he has paid before Ben delivered, the story would have changed . Even if he cancelled after payment.

Why did hr block her is the question here. Why? If that isn't wickedness
All is risky, what if you pay and they don't deliver??
The buyer can't be trusted the seller also cannot be trusted.

This reminds me of something sef...

Seun,
Find means with the mods to regulate all these online beggars on Nairaland here. One of them showed me pepper sometime ago. He was begging on a thread here and I mentioned him elsewhere and offered to help him start something instead of sending him stipend to food...

He accepted and I gave him my WhatsApp contact. He chatted me up and I linked up with someone advertising and selling okirika in this platform too. Since the guy accepted to sell such clothes...and turnover till he's able to stand on his own and send back the capital to me and continue with his own money(profit)...

I paid the Lagos dealer to send items worth over 100k ( can't remember exact amount now) and the items were warebilled to Akwaibom state...and then to Calabar.

This Nairaland beggar got delivery of the items. He said the materials sent weren't first grade. I asked him to repackage so that we send back to the Lagos contact but he declined and suggested he will try and market it that way...

That was the end... This guy ate the goods and everything...I know poverty will be eating him up wherever he is now for taking advantage of my goodwill to dupe me... Notwithstanding, I had plans of allowing him have that seed capital whenever he returns it...which is reason why I didn't border looking for him immediately I found out his real intent was to dupe people...He may have created so many monikers since then to steal from others too...

Moderate the beggars etc...Verify them to reduce such incidence. Thanks

Na wah o!

Go back to that lady's thread and look at the last chat they had.

He told her not to send the items again. She typed "Ok".

That shows that they came to an agreement.

Hence, her only problem is that he blocked her. Nothing else.

Well, you reserve the right to block anyone.

You have done absolutely NOTHING wrong. You made an order and cancelled it. Case closed. You did not run or refuse to pay for an item. Thousands of items get returned to jumia vendors daily nobody complains, it is all part of business. What then happens if you now reject the item after delivery, world go end be that.
