Traceey dear, cancelling an order is not a big deal in the world of business.

Of course it's not a big deal untill you're the person and you've spent time and resources to get a job done. It's not a big deal and it's normal doesnt make it okay and all right. If you don't have money to do something, stay your lane. I won't even order stuff on jumia without having the cash to pay at hand. You should value people's time and resources.

And this op is just a wicked liar. This his story packed with lies was unnecessary. He would have just stayed where he was since she didn't mention his name here.

He did nothing wrong...he cancelled his order and the criminal woman after seeing the message acted like she dint and still sent it .... thats buying my goods by force... I noticed that its women vendors that do this....I hv experienced it b4 , then the next thing is they will run online to buy sympathy
That is not true sir. I have lots of client on nairaland and I do make refund anytime my customer complain. Remember I did not really emphasis on the wallpaper because it is still sealed and other customer can buy it. But you can't order window blind or linoleum and cancel the order. Selling it won't be easy because it has already been cut
I am not in the league of "you must buy what I am selling ". There are lot of vendor selling interior stuff and I always appreciate my clients

And I am not a criminal or scammer. In my entire life I have never scammed anyone.

He can even get a better deal somewhere and I can't tell him he must buy from me. I would have appreciate it if he call to explain things to me and honestly I will understand. But sending me message and blocking me makes me look like a fool. And I swear I was already in peace mass Park

It wasn't like she baked a cake or something, please. Many times, I have used my call card to speak with prospects. Some of them make promises after spending my time and resources and never get back. It's no big deal. Many times, I have used my resources to arrange meetings in distant places just to meet prospects.

The young man is not her customer! He was a prospect and nothing more. She should know better that unless payment has been made (for a "non-refundable" deal) there's no certainty! It wasn't a pay after delivery term. So whatever she spends trying to secure a client is completely on her. This is business.

The items were not waybilled, the items are still with her.

I agree I fvcked up as I am yet to buy and I wasted her time and also stressed her out, but that was never my intention. If u read through everything I posted u would see my intention towards how it all went down.

This is very different from ur case

ignore those people, you owe no one here any apology. Shít happens in business, at least you didn't steal her goods

Every business has its pattern... I'm a business man too... I think the mistake u made was not collecting money first for at least the blinds and linoleum... u should have stated to him that b4 u cut those 2 according to his specifications, he should send the money for those 2 first... u see , the mistake most of u new comers in business is that u rush to fast to satisfy all customers...it doesn't work that way... u should separate how u deal with some products with other products...its part of trading 101... Anyway ,I dont think the guy is a bad guy, he could still end up buying ur goods ...but if he doesn't, count it as a loss and also an experience... just imagine if it was goods worth over a million ....

You guys asking people to get goods to you because you can't let go of a dim are taking sellers for granted. I hope one day a system will be in place to protect cash of sellers ontill deal is done.

Supposing you paid upfront for the items, nothing would have come up. You simply changed your mind midway because you have nothing to lose.

You didn't make any call or extra move to halt the transaction. The seller felt pained because she had cut an expensive part of the goods to your taste and at the moment will be impossible to sell.

Asin she was kindhearted enough to allow him hold on so the goods will be almost on its way before he pays, then he is here giving excuses.

If something came up when a deal is at the final stage, is a call not the proper way of notifying Her?

Instead of dropping WhatsApp message that if data is off, you won't see and then blocking her.

My only prayer for you is to miss a blessing at the very last minute. That's something is normal in business doesn't mean you should do it to your fellow human for any reason. If you want to cancel an order, at least inform the seller 24hrs before delivery if you have conscience. Someone has invested her time and resources to get something done and you think it's fine and beautiful to call it off at the last minute and block her afterwards. Why order for something when you don't have the funds readily available for it? God will repay you, the op and everyone that think it's okay to wicked with their own dose of wickedness.

God doesn't answer stupid prayers from a woman cos he knows ur being... small brain people ...

Blessings of God is directed to men and not women , so ud need a man to bless u b4 u even make it ...

What if the window blinds were cut to his specifications, then she would be praying someone with the exact dimensions who wants the same shade comes along or else it would rot there.

There is no how she wud have cut it to his specifications...that can only happen when it arrives and he gets his fixer... what she did was that he requested for the number of yards and she cut the number of yards needed ...not like she cut it to the rooms specifications...that can't happen until a fixer comes thru to his house and measure

Are you serious?

The ones i got for someone, the woman who sells had it cut to specifications and i only went to pick them and installed them myself.

I am 55% certain she had not gone to the park yet as at when I told her something came up. We talked on video till after 3pm and as at then she was at the market.
She told me it's when she closes for the day that she would go to the park. If she had intentions of going to the park at that moment, she would have just told me while we were on video call that she would be on her way to the park any moment now.

According to her, she spent over 2 hours in traffic but the time between when we talked on video and the time I told her I was no longer interested was just over 1 hour

She spent 1 traveling to the park and by the time you told her you were no longer interested, she spent another hour, wading back through traffic - Total 2 hrs.

Good evening everyone,I won’t try to apportion blames here because we are all social animals and we all learn..This are my thoughts:

OP you should pay for the inconvenience..

*My fellow Vendor is like that at times, you must meet all manner of customers in the cause of doing business.Don’t be discouraged, still sell your market as you always do and don’t be too stringent because of this act to your customers. You never know who is watching..

Is this even a response? That when you sent the last message she didn't tell you she had gone to the park?

If she had told you after the last message you sent her, would her telling you have reversed her going to the park?

Abi didn't you ask her to go to the park? She possibly even left work early to satisfy you as a customer and you want her to regret that?

You talk like a wizard oga. Did they send you? So why did you block her? Rogue! Taking out your frustration on other people.

I have a strong feeling that this post and the initial post by the seller in question might be nothing more than a publicity stunt,

But for a seller to drag a prospective client online because he blocked her after cancelling an order in progress, isn't ethical,

You might have gotten a little something 'for your stress' and maybe a few orders made by sympathetic Nairalanders,

But it would be best, if you never resort to this method when next you face a similar issue,

It would be unhealthy for your business image and perception (this should bother you unless you are not building something that is meant to last),

Also, apologize to this client in question (if you have the heart),

You have certainly subjected him to public ridicule,

Lastly, let everyone of us learn to give other people the benefit of a doubt,

All of you calling the said client 'wicked', 'scammer', and other unprintable names might be letting out your frustrations based on personal experiences,

But we all should do better next time.

It's the consumer laws/ system of fraud. For example, Amazon will automatically refund them once they ship the item, Ebay insists on full refund unless you pay for the return shipping and then be willing to go through a lengthy process of dispute. These are not even the worst scenario, all the buyer has to do is contact their bank and state that the item was a fraudulent purchase or defective and gbam.....They get their full refund plus you are charged a chargeback fee, of course all these headaches are for online selling, physical selling is not as dangerous.

Omo make I no talk too much, 9ja we still dey enjoy, over here consumer protection is so strong, all you can do as a seller is hope for the best. When I first started with one business, I don spend the thousands of dollars that I earned from selling only to discover after 2 months hree buyers are claiming unauthorized purchase and their banks already ruled in their favor......I wan mental grin grin grin
Omo...nobi small matters oO grin

According to Xcelinteriors she was in traffic for close to 3 hours but I talked with her on video around 14:58, then told her I wasn't buying again when she had already gotten to the park.

Just so u know, during the video call she made no mention of going to the park at that very moment. She only reiterated what she said earlier (which was that she would leave her shop to the park when she has closed for the day).

The time between when we talked on video and when I told her I wasn't buying again was just over one hour, how come she spent close to there hours in traffic and why did she not let me know she was going to the park.

I already agree I fvcked up by pulling out last minute but the picture she is trying to paint with her thread is really not how it went down..
After you admit that you bleeped up.. then pay for the expense.
