Power outage from Egbin power plant led IKEDC & Eko to supply close to zero kWh to Lagosians for a few days, that's why people besieged the fuel stations to keep their generators running.

Pls oooo everybody is magodo not part of Nigeria or using egbin light cos they are still having 24hrs uninterrupted light , meanwhile it's close to 8days now for mile 12 na black out .

No power supply and still no fuel to power the generator.
This Govt is a huge disappointment

Nigerians are a high disappointment in any progressive society the people will be on the street protesting, how can an oil-rich nation have fuel scarcity, it is not like the country has to import fuel.

Nigerians are not holding the government to a high standard, the minister of petroleum is the president!

I am very surprised that some people here had doubts.
@helinues Not every complaint is political.

Fuel at N40/ litre (Prof Tam David-West) and GMB claiming that his experience as PTF Chairman makes him know that there is "nothing like subsidy" are views that have to be challenged.
It is very clear now that the issues are not just about a politically "clueless" administration run by the opposition party.
SURE-P and N5,000 for 6months to "the poorest of the poor" are no different.
Nigeria has to resolve this challenge without waiting for Dangote's refinery and wishing away the evil day...
...by picking merit over nepotism. (Infact, all government agencies should publish their staff strength in terms of geopolitical zones. Then, we begin to push meritocracy from there)
Doing away with subsidy needs a full fiscal Year Plan, at the very least.
Have we begun that plan, having pushed a signed Bill forward by eighteen months?

Petrol sold to Nigeria from Europe 'dirtier' than black market 'bush' fuel

Samples from illegal refineries in the Niger delta were found to be of a higher quality than imported petrol in a new analysis

Black market fuel made from stolen oil in rudimentary “bush” refineries hidden deep in the creeks and swamps of the Niger delta is less polluting than the highly toxic diesel and petrol that Europe exports to Nigeria, new laboratory analysis has found.

Shell, Exxon, Chevron and other major oil companies extract and export up to 2m barrels a day of high quality, low sulphur “Bonny Light” crude from the Niger delta. But very little of this oil is refined in the country because its four state-owned refineries are dysfunctional or have closed.

Instead, international dealers export to Nigeria around 900,000 tonnes a year of low-grade, “dirty” fuel, made in Dutch, Belgian and other European refineries, and hundreds of small-scale artisanal refineries produce large quantities of illegal fuel from oil stolen from the network of oil pipelines that criss-cross the Niger delta.

The net result, says international resource watchdog group Stakeholder Democracy Network (SDN) in a new report, is that Nigeria has some of the worst air pollution in the world, with dense clouds of choking soot hanging over gridlocked cities leading to a rise in serious health conditions as well as damaged vehicles.

Yes, because Buhari decided to kick the can down the road, and reinstate fuel subsidy.

Meanwhile, NNPC needs 3 trillion naira or more this year to cover the losses it sustains by selling PMS at N163 per liter, against a rising landing cost of N282 (as at last week)

Had subsidy been removed, the long lines would not have been there, and NNPC would be making a profit this year, and government keeps its 3 trillion naira., and makes more even.

Ah, excellent article.

We have dirty fuel because it helps keep subsidy costs down. If we refined our crude in the standard refinereis both Belgium and the Netherlands have, not the bad ones...we would have had a cost price-production differential above N500 per liter...with a concurrent rise in subsidy costs...we could be dumping our revenue from crude on paying for subsidy and it won't be enough.

That's why subsidy has to go. We cannot continue. And Dnagote and the five other private refineries coming on stream (6 if BUA decided to refine PMS in his own refinery)...won't save us. Dangote needs to make a profit, or else...the banks would be eyeing his lucrative assets...

Honestly the spell Buhari and APC cast on Nigerians is very potent and ought to be a research topic at London School of Economics and Harvard university shocked

If this were in PDP or GEJ era, people wont even bother to ask why, they will just start cursing GEJ government.

Buhari's Marabout are experts cry

So you guys are not aware that Buhari's government plans to increase petrol pump price? Because of that, filling stations have decided to hoard their petrol waiting for the new price increase so they can start selling at the new increased pump price.

2023 una go still fight for APC and vote in another APC disaster as President and later una go come back crying and begging for alms, mad citizens of a dying country angry

They are not increasing any pump price, the scarcity is caused by the bad fuel sold and they're being careful to sell to customers
