hell yeah.
I didn't have to do it but I did anyway because some of my childhood friends were doing it back in the day

So it was sometime in 2004 after my junior weac and I had a lot of time waiting for my result before I proceeded to senior secondary school.
I asked my parents to let me do it and they obliged.
I hawked soft drinks (carried full crakes of chilled Pepsi mixed with mirinda and seven up) in onitsha main market.
I also carried yam tubers for market women from river Niger to their shops in ose market. Maybe na why I no too tall now.

I remember when I would get too tired and would sit in front of someone's shop for a little minute just to rest and continue. Come see as them go pursue me: calling me lazy and telling me to go continue my hustle.

Men those where learning experiences.
Glad I didn't have to do this to survive. It was all fun for me, and of course I made some little cash I took to school for flexing..

Now I pity those kids who do these so they can survive.

Those experiences shaped me share

It was fun then, I toured the whole town on foot grin , I even had a hawk partner. We hawked complimentary goods together. Now everyone don become big boys and the girls are married now

I hawked okra and vegetable from 2005 to 2010 at Ile-Ife. I and my younger sisters were hawking for our mom though.

Customers would buy stuff from you, but most customers wouldn't give you money immediately. You would be told to come back.

I did hawk groundnut in those days and I remember an incident. After going all over the place without selling much, I met one of my elderly neighbor, can't remember the person again,he said, how market? and instead of a normal response of,we thank God, I bluntly said, no, I haven't sold much, the person simply burst into laughter and I was embarrassed!

Animegirl is pissed.

if Animegirl is not among the 98.7946% of girls that hawk their coochie because they have nothing else to offer,

then Animegirl should just look away.

If Animegirl is among the numbers,

then Animegirl has every right to be pissed.

Same goes for Simran94.

Suck on this.

Hawked dry fish for my mom. It was the only stream of income we had then, mom never gave up on us even though dad was sick all through. Funny enough we (me and my immediate elder sister) made a lot of money from hawking while mom sells in her shop.

When we come back in the evening, she will make good food for all of us (we are six) to eat. Next morning she will go out again to sell fish at her shop while we go to school, once we're done from school, we'll go to the shop, get some fish and go hawking.

Anytime I remember my mom's effort while her husband was sick, it make me shade tears like a baby even to this day
